Naruto: Senmei Asahi

Chapter 24: Chapter 024: Meeting Orochimaru Again

After returning home, Asahi opened Tsunade's scroll and found out that it was not a scroll containing some kind of ninjutsu in it, but a way to improve the activity of the body's cells.

Although there was a little disappointment in his mind, this method of improving cell activity was also extremely important to Asahi.

A person's body's strength and cells were intimately related, and enhancing cell activity could improve their body's various functions.

For example, [Raikiri] used by Kakashi, the reason why he could rush towards the enemy at high speed was because when he uses [Raikiri], he first uses lightning-attribute chakra to stimulate the cells in his body and increases his speed of dash.

When Uchiha Sasuke was at Chunin Exams, the reason why he could increase his speed to match Lee's standard speed within one month was also by using lightning-attribute chakra to stimulate cell activity to increase his speed.

It's just that Asahi's chakra did not have even the slightest amount of lightning-attribute, so he's not able to use this method.

But Tsunade's method of improving cell activity belonged to the category of medical ninjutsu, and the practitioners needed to be proficient in medical ninjutsu and have super high chakra control.

Asahi analyzed that Tsunade's ability to use Chakra Enhanced Strength, besides relying on her Senju clan's bloodline, was also a result due to increased cell activity and high chakra control. Moreover, Sakura could also use Chakra Enhanced Strength in the original anime, from that it could be seen that the premise of Chakra Enhanced Strength training was not on the bloodline of the Senju clan, but on the need to improve the activity of cells and precise chakra control.

Asahi was still young, and his body had not yet grown. In the face of some adult ninjas, his taijutsu's advantage were not great.

But as long as the cellular activity of the body was improved, his taijutsu could exert a greater and more formidable power.

After carefully learning the contents of the scroll, he hid the scroll in a dark grid under the floor. He would immediately go to the border to execute his mission. It seemed that he could only first go to the Land of Fire's border and then train in this method to increase cell activity.

Asahi also planned to go to Konoha Hospital to thank Tsunade in person. But it was only that after passing by the hospital that he came to know that Tsunade was not in the hospital at that time, and so he went to Tsunade's home after that, and still did not see Tsunade.

Now out of options, Asahi could only write a thank you note, which he inserted through the doorway of Tsunade's house.

Early in the morning, he rushed to the Konoha Gate to report his attendance for mission.

From a distance, the bustling people at the gate seem like a spectacular sight of a vast crowd.

But most of them were no more than ten years old children, there were less than ten Jonin among the team leaders, and most of them were chunin. However, Asahi found several ninjas with dogs in the crowd, many ninjas from the Hyuga clan and the Aburame clan were also present.

It seemed that these three ninja clan were the main members of this mission at the border. As for the other ninjas, it was estimated that they were either cannon fodders to confuse the enemy, or cannon fodders who were responsible for the cover.

Apart from this, Asahi could not think of a reason why the village would sent so many genins.

These genins were war orphans, and a new batch would be added soon after this dead batch. Even if all the genin sent out this time were to be killed, the village would not feel distressed. Because their purpose to cultivate these ninjas was to make them cannon fodder.

"Asahi, here!" Seeing Asahi, Shinohara waved his hand excitedly.

"Ueno-sensei! Good morning." Asahi moved towards Ueno and greeted him.

To be honest, in the past two years, following the mission executions with Ueno, Shinohara, and Keita, Asahi's character had become lot more cheerful, at least he was no longer as unloving as before. But seeing this scene today, his mood couldn't help but shake.

Seemingly seeing through Asahi's thoughts, Ueno patted his shoulder, and comforted softly, "Don't think too much, our team's mission this time is to be responsible for the border, just follow me and don't worry about other things."

Asahi knew the real meaning of Ueno's words. If you follow a Jonin, you could get rid of the destiny of becoming a cannon fodder. Although you still could not completely avoid it, since it will be dangerous, but at least he would be way more informed than those who needed to enter the Land of Wind.

If Asahi had not revealed his talent during these years, his destiny this time would be very different.

"Destiny is a wonderful thing." He said with a sneer.

"Do you think so too Asahi-kun? Destiny is really interesting."

Orochimaru's hoarse voice suddenly sounded from behind him, and the voice had a tone of playfulness.

"Orochimaru-sama!" Ueno and the others immediately greeted him with respect.

Asahi found that everyone's first reaction to seeing Orochimaru was surprisingly similar, with tense bodies, their eyes avoiding his face, and everyone looked nervous.

Although Orochimaru's reputation in the village was very high, almost everyone was afraid of this man who exuded a dangerous aura that couldn't be covered up.

"Does Orochimaru-sama think so too?" Asahi asked, with his eyes narrowed.

"I'm looking forward to your performance in this mission." Orochimaru whispered to him, then turned and left.

After Orochimaru left, Shinohara immediately pulled Asahi to a side and said excitedly, "Asahi, even Orochimaru-sama knows your name."

"I've met him before." Asahi responded, then looked at Ueno and asked, "Ueno-sensei, how did Orochimaru-sama appear here?"

"Orochimaru-sama is the commander in this mission." Ueno explained.

"For such a mission, the village sent one of the Sannin, Orochimaru-sama?" Asahi frowned.

"This is a war. Konoha cannot afford to lose it." Ueno sighed.

Asahi hearing this nodded.

The war between Konoha and Sunagakure was the battle between the poorest village and the strongest village after the end of the Second Great Ninja War. At this stage, all of the world's attention was focused on this war, and they could not lose this war.

They couldn't afford to lose!

The Land of Fire is located in the center of the entire continent and occupies the best natural resources. All the other villages see the Land of Fire and glare at them like a tiger watching its prey. Once Konoha lost in this war against Sunagakure, all the other countries would never give up this opportunity to eliminate them.

This war was not the same for both Konoha and Sunagakure, as long as it's won, it could deter neighboring countries. But if they lose, Sunagakure would still be the village that is hidden in the sand, difficult to attack and easy to defend, but if Konoha loses, they would definitely fall into a siege of other Four Great Villages.

So Orochimaru's arrival at the Land of Fire border in person could deter Sunagakure from daring to act without thinking, and could greatly improve the morale of Konoha's army. And once if the situation changes in an unknown direction, at that time Orochimaru would be present, and he could respond in time. Even if Sunagakure makes a big attack, Orochimaru could hold them back while asking for support from the village.
