Naruto: Path towards Godhood

Chapter 7: Clan and Uncle

"Uncle Yakumi, are you there?" Ken knocked on the door a few times and called out.

After a few seconds, a middle-aged woman opened the door. She had a white face with smooth, flowing black hair. She wore a purple dress and had a gentle smile on her lips.

"Ken, how are you?"

Ken smiled sweetly and replied.

"I am fine, Aunt Mitsori. I am here to meet Uncle Yakumi. Is he home?"

"He hasn't returned yet. But you can come in and wait."

Mitsori welcomed him.

Ken walked in, and they went to the living room.

Mitsori went to the kitchen to prepare something even though Ken told her that he had just eaten at Ichiraku.

After ten minutes, she came with tea and some homemade cookies. She put them on the table and sat down next to him.

"So, what brought you here, Ken?" Mitsori asked.

"I graduated recently," Ken spoke, but before he could continue, she interrupted him with a big smile.

"Congratulations, Ken!"

After saying that, she showed a worried expression and asked.

"Do you lack something, Ken? Is it a ninja tool or Exploding Tags? Don't worry about the cost; we have a lot of them in stock if you need them."

Ken quickly shook his head and said.

"Don't worry, Aunt Mitsori. Our Jonin instructor has told us to train for a month before we can take any missions. So, I don't need them now."

"I came here for some Ninjutsu."

Hearing that, Mitsori nodded with understanding and said.

"It is good that your Jonin instructor can think of training you before letting you do the missions. Since the war started, there has been a shortage of D-Rank missions."

"So, most of the Genin team are often forced to take C-rank missions despite their lacking strength. And, since the war is going on outside, there is a high chance that these people will meet enemy village ninjas."

"And, during the war, they won't hesitate even for a moment to attack you."

Saying so, a look of confusion appeared on her face.

"But Ken, didn't you have a hard time mastering Fireball Jutsu? It's not okay to train other Ninjutsu without mastering the basic one."

Hearing her concern, Ken replied.

"I have already mastered Great Fireball Jutsu. It was certainly difficult, but I can show you my mastery of Great Fireball Jutsu."

Hearing that, Mitsori put her hand on her chin. Just when she was thinking, she heard a knock on the door.

"Your uncle must be back. Why don't we go together and test your progress?"

She walked up to the door, and instead of letting Yakumi in, she pulled him away.

"Mitsori, what happened? Where are we going?" Yakumi, who was unaware of Ken's visit, felt confused as he got pulled by his wife.

"Ken is here to show us his progress in Great Fireball Jutsu. He told me he wanted to learn more Ninjutsu."

Mitsori explained while taking him toward a lake near the Uchiha compound.

"Ken! I didn't see you there." Only then did Yakumi realize someone was following them and spoke with surprise.

After they reached the pond, Yakumi turned his attention toward Ken and asked with a stoic expression.

"Have you mastered Great Fireball Jutsu?"

Ken didn't reply. Instead, he walked up to the shore and raised both of his hands.

[Snake- Ram- Monkey- Boar- Horse- Tiger]

[Fire Style- Great Fireball Jutsu]

A massive fireball the size of a house blew out of his mouth. It moved on top of the pond, evaporating the water below.

As the mist gathered atop the pond, the fireball slowly disappeared in mid-air.

Yakumi and Mitsori looked shocked. Yakumi regained his normal stoic face and asked.

"Ken, have you awakened your Sharingan?"

It's not that he looked down on Ken. It's just that Ken had never shown any talent in Ninjutsu.

So, it was hard for him to believe that Ken could suddenly release a Fireball of this size and temperature out of the blue.

Ken didn't find his question strange. If anyone saw him showing such a talent out of nowhere, it would raise suspicion.

Fireball might be a basic Jutsu, but it was one of their most classic Jutsu. It wasn't hard to learn this Jutsu, but extremely hard to master it.

Ken closed his eyes for a split second before opening them. This time, his pupils were red with one black magatama on them.

"Ha-haha! This is great news, Ken. You are only eight, and you have already awakened a Sharingan. You might be one of the youngest ones to do so."

"But, when did you awaken it?" Yakumi couldn't help but show his excitement as he started laughing wildly in front of Ken.

Only when Mitsori pushed him with her elbow did he stop laughing.

"A month ago." Ken replied.

Yakumi gave him a stare before shaking his head.

"It doesn't matter how you awakened it. Since you want to learn Ninjutsu, I will give you some."

He didn't say teach because he wanted to see how much Ken's Sharingan has changed his talent.

There have been a few cases in the past in which a worse student suddenly became a genius after awakening Sharingan.

Although it hadn't been confirmed yet, it was something to look forward to.

Yakumi returned to the room and came out with three scrolls.

Ken took the scrolls and bid farewell to Yakumi and Mitsori.

They were very kind to him, but until he was strong enough to defeat a Kage, he wouldn't be able to save them from their demise.

After he returned to his house, he quickly unfolded the scroll and started checking them.

It seemed like Yakumi knew what he needed even though he didn't ask for it.

[Fire Style- Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu]

[Fire Style- Dragon Fire Jutsu]

[Body Flicker Jutsu]

Looking at these three scrolls, Ken immediately put away Body Flicker and Dragon Fire.

He took the Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu with him and walked up to his backyard.

Looking at the content on the scroll, he decided to start with understanding the Jutsu instead of practicing it right away.

This technique was exactly what he needed to make sure he could hurt the enemy.

It allowed him to spit out a volley of fireballs that looked like one fireball until the user separated them with his Chakra Control.

But there were other ways to utilize it. One could spit out small fireballs continuously while putting small shurikens inside them.

The temperature of each fireball was enough to burn trees and scrolls, while the destruction upon collision was enough to shatter the ground.

Understanding its core mechanic, Ken decided to practice hand signs.

[Rat- Tiger- Dog- Ox- Rabbit- Tiger]

It had six hand signs, just like Fireball, but except for Tiger hand signs at last, every other hand sign was different.

This meant this fireball was released through a completely different method than a regular fireball.

He checked each hand sign and its relationship with Fire Chakra. As he memorized the hand signs, he began performing them.

[Rat] [Tiger] [Dog] [Ox] [Rabbit] [Tiger]

As he went through each hand sign, he could feel the Chakra being molded on his throat.

Now, he only needed to press the last hand sign and spit out the fireballs.

[Fire Style- Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu]

As he spat out the first fireball, he felt another burst of Fire Chakra in his throat. So, he quickly spat out more fireballs.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

These fireballs were only the size of a human head, and they didn't travel far. When he released them in mid-air, they quickly dropped to the ground and dissipated.

'My Chakra Control isn't good enough to release it at once. So, I need to train that part of my Chakra Control.'

'But if I train this Jutsu, when can I train my other Jutsu? Damn it! Is there a way I can train both while increasing the completion rate of my task?'

Thinking about it, he decided to open his status panel.

As soon as he saw that, his eyes widened.

'It changed. Fire Jutsu is a new section, right? I didn't think it would change like this, but it's good.'

'And, even the task has changed. Instead of Fireball Jutsu, it only says Fire Jutsu. That means even if I train Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu or Dragon Fire Jutsu, I can keep improving the completion rate of my task.'
