Mito Versus Kenji;

"Damn it! Where the hell is she?"

Kenji couldn't help but grit his teeth, trying to find Mito. It's not that he didn't want to go and ask for help.

But rather, he couldn't leave this place. He couldn't see anything around him.

The mist was so big and dense that it was covering his vision very well. The only reason why he wasn't beaten by Mito was simply because Mito couldn't see through this mist as well.

Since both couldn't see each other, they were using voices to distance themselves from each other.

For a while, Kenji didn't find it troublesome. He tried to use Earth Release to enter the ground and sense Mito.

But, while deep inside, his senses weren't as strong as Earth Shinobi. So, he couldn't simply use it and trace Mito.

The only way this could work was if he could see her and move near her to sense her presence.

The distance he could sense was only around twenty meters, which wasn't enough since this mist was covering almost fifty to hundred meters square meters of land.

This made their fight a stalemate until he heard the scream of his comrade. That made him panic.

He thought he could take out these Genin with ease but ended up hearing the scream of his comrade. That almost made him have a heart attack.

So, to escape from this mist, he tried running in one direction, but the moment that happened, Mito released even more Mist, causing him to panic and slow down.

This had only been going on for two or three minutes it was more than enough for Ken to take down Jiro.

So, when he spoke, Ken, who had arrived near the mist, heard him and rushed toward him without any hesitation.

He tried to use his Sharingan to see through the mist, but it wasn't possible since the mist contained some of Mito's Chakra, making it harder to trace Kenji.

So, he decided to ignore it and start weaving hand signs.

Unlike the normal fireball, he released flame as a constant stream of fire that moved forward like a flamethrower.

Boom!

This flame was more than powerful enough to destroy the Mist, but what Ken wanted was to distract or even injure Kenji with these flames.

"Argh!"

Just as he predicted, the flame came too fast, and Kenji was unable to dodge it in time.

Although it didn't kill him, it managed to burn the right side of his body.

"You? Why are you here already?" Kenji couldn't help but swallow his pain and ask.

He didn't think Ken was here after defeating Jiro. Jiro didn't scream hard enough for him to hear.

So, the moment he appeared, he thought of running toward Jiro.

Of course, Ken noticed it as well. Despite his injuries, Kenji believed he could take down these Genin with the help of Jiro.

It was normal for a Chunin to think like that.

What's a Genin?

A Genin was a ninja who had almost zero experience in real life and death battles, had very little Chakra, almost no offensive if not only one powerful Ninjutsu, and low physical stats.

That's a Genin.

What's a Chunin?

A Chunin was a ninja who had fought multiple life-and-death battles with enemies weaker or at the same level as him, had considerable Chakra Reserves, few offensive Ninjutsu, and proper physical stats.

That's a Chunin.

Comparing these two was the same as comparing a rabbit with a wolf.

A wolf might not be as strong as a Lion or Tiger, but it has a lot of strength and experience in hunting its prey.

So, most of the Chunin had the mentality that they were stronger than Genin. This was laid out due to the facts established in the past.

But, sometimes, they were people who were way beyond the limits set by other people.

From his memories, Ken could count five people on the spot.

Naruto, Sasuke, Might Dai, Madara, and Hashirama.

Naruto never became a Chunin but still ended up becoming a Hokage. Sasuke betrayed the village, so he was always a Genin, even after rejoining the village.

Might Dai never got a chance to perform Eight Inner Gates during Chunin exams.

And, Chunin exams or the ranking of ninjas weren't established till Madara betrayed the village and Hashirama died.

Ken was in a similar situation. He had Chakra Reserves similar if not higher than most Chunin.

He had three powerful Offensive Ninjutsu, perfect support from his Sharingan, a well-trained body, and a lot of experience fighting powerful enemies.

With these, he was able to defeat the Sand puppeteer.

And, the moment he went to fight Jiro, he was able to strategies and let Jenzi use Double Suicide Decapitation Jutsu.

So, the only remaining of the three was Kenji, who had some injuries on his right side.

"Give up, both of your comrades are dead."

Ken looked at him with some pity and spoke.

Kenji's eyes widened as he stopped on the spot and heretically shouted.

"Impossible! How could you kill Jiro in such a short time? You are just a Genin. Impossible...."

"No, you are not a Genin. This is a trick of Konoha. It must be it. They sent you because they knew you could kill Chunin."

Although it would be a stretch to say he could kill someone higher than Chunin due to his age, Kenji immediately believed that Ken was a strong Chunin level.

In his eyes, this was a trick from Konoha which made him almost give up all hope.

"Not exactly! Our village did give up on us. We are supposed to be bait. But, even they didn't expect my strength."

Ken shook his head and explained, not even understanding why he was trying to say this.

"Is that so?" For a moment, Kenji didn't believe him, but when he thought about his companion, he realized Ken might not be wrong.

Mito was not strong. She couldn't even use assassination tactics inside the mist. If she could do that, he wouldn't be alive.

But after realizing this, he started laughing manically.

"Hahaha! It doesn't matter if I die now. You will soon die as well. You can't return to the village, but your death is already waiting for you."

At this moment, he gave up all resistance against Ken.

Ken knew this. He didn't react much. He simply started using hand signs.

[Fire Style- Great Fireball Jutsu]

This time, Ken released a fireball in the shape of a ball. The orange ball of fire moved toward Kenji and engulfed him.

Boom!

In an instant, a large section of the area was destroyed by the fireball. When the flames died down, Ken walked forward and saw the charred body of Kenji.

Although he didn't turn into ash, that much heat and explosion was more than enough to kill.

Ken came closer and put him inside a scroll. Right now, he had three scrolls with three bodies of Chunin.

If he could return to the village, these could help him earn a lot of merits.

After all, this was a war, and his killing of three Sand Chunin deserved some merits.

While merit was one thing, the most important thing was that he wanted the reward from the system.

So, as soon as he finished dealing with Kenji, he turned his attention toward the system panel.

Since the second task was completed, it was removed from the panel, and a new task was added.

The moment he read the second task, Ken was stunned.

Not because of the task itself but rather because of the reward.

Up until now, he believed the rewards were simply points that he could utilize to improve his strength.

But when he saw Chakra Seed of One Tail Shukaku, his mind almost went blank.

He didn't know what Chakra Seed was.

But he knew Shukaku. That's a frekaing Tailed Beast. Just based on combat power, it was the third strongest-tailed beast.

With its almost unbreakable defenses, sealing Jutsu and sand barriers, it was one of the strongest beings in this world.

Now, he had a chance to get it.

What was Chakra Seed?

It didn't matter.

Because it was something related to Tailed Beast.

That's all that matters.
