Chapter 28: Chapter 28: No one can save

Minato Namikaze and Fugaku Uchiha stood rigid, their expressions unreadable.

The looming presence of Danzo Shimura, leader of Root, only confirmed their suspicions—this was a calculated move to restrict Uchiha Qin Yu's resistance.

At the same time, Danzo ensured that his own operatives wouldn't need to engage in direct combat, minimizing casualties within Root. It was a masterstroke—an efficient way to achieve two objectives at once.

"Heh, the Root operatives truly have no shame," Qin Yu said, his Mangekyō Sharingan gleaming. "You accuse me of betraying Konoha by leaking intelligence to Kumogakure's forces, yet what about Yamanaka Stroke and Aburame Take-Root? They were the ones who sold out the stronghold's information to the enemy."

His voice was laced with derision as he continued, "Tell me, did you execute them for treason? Or did you hand them over to the Third Hokage for judgment?"

The gathered shinobi reacted with alarm, their faces shifting as murmurs spread.

The incident involving Kumogakure had already shaken the village—hundreds of elite Kumo-nin, led by the fearsome A-B Combo, had been sent to eliminate the Uchiha. The plan had been clear: wipe out the defenders and erase all traces of their betrayal.

But no one had anticipated the presence of Qin Yu.

Not only did he possess a formidable Mangekyō Sharingan, but he had single-handedly slain hundreds of Kumo-nin and repelled the terrifying duo of A and Killer Bee.

When word reached Konoha, it sent shockwaves through the ranks.

More importantly, the future Raikage, A, began to suspect that Yamanaka Stroke and Aburame Take-Root had misled him, feeding him false information. In retaliation, he had thrown the mission scroll directly to Qin Yu, exposing the web of deception.

Inside the cavern, a heavy silence filled the air.

Yamanaka Dragon, father of Stroke and a devoted student of Danzo, clenched his fists, his face darkening with anger. He had taken on this mission to exonerate his son and shift blame onto Qin Yu.

Yet, with just a few words, Qin Yu had shattered his strategy.

With a sharp inhale, Yamanaka Dragon scowled. "Enough of this nonsense. The affairs of Root are handled within Root. If my son and Aburame Take-Root have erred, it is for us to decide their fate."

Minato and Fugaku exchanged glances, their brows furrowing.

It was an outright admission that Root functioned as a law unto itself.

Qin Yu chuckled, his crimson eyes flashing dangerously. "So only Root decides what counts as treachery? And what if I decide to judge my own betrayers?"

"Boy, watch your tongue!" Yamanaka Dragon roared. "Are you questioning the authority of Danzo and the upper echelons of Konoha? That's a grave offense—detain him immediately!"

Four Root operatives stepped forward without hesitation.

But Qin Yu merely smirked. "So, in the end, it all comes down to power."

Lightning arced around his body with a sharp crackle.

In the blink of an eye, he vanished.

Before Yamanaka Dragon could react, Qin Yu reappeared right before him, his grip tightening around the older shinobi's throat.

"So fast!"

Even Minato and Fugaku's eyes widened in shock.

Yamanaka Dragon's lips parted, but his body refused to move.

His gaze locked onto Qin Yu's whirling Mangekyō Sharingan, and a deep terror set in.

"You… I can't… move…" he stammered.

Qin Yu's smile widened. "Did you really think you could manipulate me so easily?"

He had already used the hypnotic abilities of his Sharingan to paralyze Yamanaka Dragon's body. If he had chosen to, he could have plunged him into an endless illusion.

Nothing was more terrifying than losing control of one's own fate.

"Uchiha Qin Yu… let me go! I am a direct subordinate of Danzo-sama!" Yamanaka Dragon rasped.

Qin Yu didn't waver. "I don't care. You're an eyesore. That's reason enough for me."

"Qin Yu, stop!" Minato called out, but it was too late.

Black flames erupted from Qin Yu's hand, engulfing Yamanaka Dragon.

The searing agony wrenched a bloodcurdling scream from his throat.

The illusion shattered, but by then, it was already over.

His body was swallowed by Amaterasu's unrelenting flames.

With a final act of desperation, he collapsed to the ground, rolling wildly in a futile attempt to smother the flames.

The surrounding shinobi recoiled, their faces paling.

"Help me! This fire won't go out!" Yamanaka Dragon shrieked. "Use Water Release! Put it out!"

Four Root operatives immediately formed hand seals.

"Water Release: Water Wave!"

"Water Release: Water Spring!"

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"

"Water Release: Water Whip!"

A deluge of water crashed onto Yamanaka Dragon's burning form.

Yet, the black flames refused to die out.

The terrifying sight sent shivers down everyone's spines.

Qin Yu watched calmly. "You should know by now—once Amaterasu touches you, nothing can save you."

Yamanaka Dragon's screams grew hoarse as he crawled toward Qin Yu in desperation.

"Please… I was only following orders! It was all for Danzo-sama!"

His body continued to burn.

The suffocating heat and stench of charred flesh filled the cavern.

Moments later, all that remained of Yamanaka Dragon was a pile of smoldering ash.

A heavy silence settled over the room.

The gathered shinobi exchanged glances, the weight of what they had just witnessed sinking in.

Minato's expression darkened.

Fugaku, too, studied Qin Yu with newfound caution.

From this moment forward, no one would dare take him lightly.

Because now, they understood—Qin Yu was not just a threat.

He was an executioner.
