Naruto: I Am Uchiha Sasuke!?

Chapter 23: Chapter 22 Sharingan's Secret

Kakashi paused for a moment, then withdrew his Chidori, the crackling lightning fading from his hand.

"Alright, Sasuke, I've given you the key points. The rest is up to you. Raikiri is a high-level jutsu—it won't be mastered overnight. Keep practicing, and don't forget our deal."

He stretched lazily, preparing to leave when—

Zzzzt—!

A familiar high-pitched chirping sound filled the air behind him.

"What?!"

Kakashi spun around, his single visible eye widening in disbelief.

In Sasuke's hand, a ball of blue-white lightning crackled violently. The same technique Kakashi had just demonstrated—Chidori!

"He learned it… already?!"

Kakashi was stunned. Even with his own talent, he had taken time to develop and master this technique. Yet Sasuke had replicated it within moments.

However, Sasuke's Chidori only lasted a few seconds before flickering out.

Kakashi exhaled, feeling a strange sense of relief. "At least he hasn't fully mastered it yet…"

But then, he couldn't shake the complex emotions within him. His personally developed jutsu had just been copied in record time by a twelve-year-old.

"Sasuke, you've managed to form the jutsu, but remember—Raikiri is a high-consumption technique. Overusing it can be fatal."

Sasuke nodded, concealing his true thoughts. In reality, his understanding of Chidori was already complete. Even now, his mind buzzed with ideas for variations and improvements.

But he had reasons to hold back. First, he didn't want Kakashi to have an existential crisis. Second, revealing his full potential could attract unwanted attention, especially from Danzo and the other Konoha higher-ups.

As an orphan of the Uchiha clan, it was best to remain cautious.

"I should maintain the persona of a genius, but not an unstoppable prodigy."

Kakashi crossed his arms. "Sasuke, Chidori is most effective when paired with Sharingan. Have you awakened it yet?"

Sasuke smirked slightly and looked up, his eyes flashing red with Two Tomoe Sharingan.

"No problem there, Kakashi."

Kakashi blinked. "Two Tomoe already…?"

Sasuke continued, "As promised, I'll tell you what I know about Sharingan."

Kakashi instantly focused. "This is it…"

"The Uchiha clan is said to be descended from the Sage of Six Paths."

"The Sage of Six Paths?!" Kakashi's voice rose in surprise. "You mean the legendary ancestor of all ninja?"

"That's what the clan's records claim," Sasuke replied. "Whether it's true or not, who knows? But what is certain is that Sharingan has been passed down for generations."

He continued, "Sharingan doesn't awaken randomly. It requires strong emotional stimulation—grief, anger, or intense loss. The Uchiha clan's emotions run deep, and when those emotions reach a breaking point, a special chakra is produced in the brain, triggering the transformation of the optic nerves. That's how we awaken our eyes."

Kakashi rubbed his chin. "So love gives rise to hatred, and hatred leads to power…"

"Once awakened, Sharingan starts with a single tomoe, evolving to two and eventually three. With each stage, observation, perception, and illusion capabilities increase. However, Sharingan isn't all-powerful."

"I know. It can't copy certain techniques, like Kekkei Genkai abilities, right?"

Sasuke nodded. "Exactly. If your chakra doesn't match the nature of a copied jutsu, you won't be able to use it effectively. Also, some secret clan techniques can't be copied easily."

"But the true peak of Sharingan… is Mangekyō Sharingan."

Kakashi's breath hitched. "Mangekyō Sharingan? There's something beyond Three Tomoe?"

Sasuke nodded. "It grants immense power, unlocking unique abilities for each wielder. But… it comes at a cost."

"A cost?"

"The more Mangekyō is used, the more it erodes the eyesight of the user. Eventually, they go blind."

Kakashi's eye widened. "Using Mangekyō leads to blindness…?"

"Yes. Power always comes at a price."

A deep silence followed. Kakashi fell into thought, his fingers tightening slightly.

My vision… He had noticed it before—subtle moments where his sight blurred or felt strained.

"No…" he muttered to himself. "Obito is dead. That can't be…"

A voice whispered in the back of his mind: Are you sure?

"Kakashi-sensei?" Sasuke's voice pulled him back to reality.

Kakashi straightened. "Sasuke, I need some time to think. You've already got a strong grasp of Chidori—keep refining it."

And with that, he disappeared in a flicker.

Sasuke smirked. "That should be enough for now…"
