Chapter 87: Building a Transformer and Recruiting Sasori!
"Yo, Arara, playing with clay again?"
"Is Sasori-senpai around?"
After parting ways with Konan and Nagato, Uchiha Yi returned to the base and found Deidara working on his art. He greeted him with a teasing tone.
"How many times do I have to tell you? Stop calling me Arara!" Deidara gritted his teeth in frustration, glaring at Yi. "Otherwise, I won't be polite!"
"Hahaha, don't sweat the details. Just tell me where Senpai is—I have something to discuss with him." Yi waved off the complaint with a laugh, clearly enjoying teasing Deidara.
"Hmph! Don't let it happen again." Deidara snorted but gestured toward another part of the base. "He's over there. Go find him yourself."
---
Yi followed the directions and soon arrived at Sasori's workshop. The room was cluttered with half-finished puppets and tools, though Sasori himself was nowhere in sight.
"You're looking for me?" Sasori's voice emerged from somewhere amidst the piles of puppets.
"Yes, Sasori-senpai. I need your help crafting something," Yi replied directly and explained his vision in detail.
"I can do it," Sasori said without hesitation. "But you'll provide the materials, and the fee remains unchanged."
With Sasori's agreement, Yi smiled brightly. "Thank you, Senpai!"
Yi quickly gathered the necessary materials and delivered them to Sasori, along with the payment. Over the next week, Sasori worked tirelessly, making minor adjustments as needed. Finally, a brand-new Lamborghini-inspired car was complete.
---
Standing before the completed project, Yi couldn't contain his excitement. He summoned a blue flame in his hand using the [Fire Seed] ability and carefully infused it into the car.
Sasori, watching from the side, was confused. What was Yi doing? But curiosity kept him from interrupting.
Then the miracle happened.
As the ethereal flame merged with the vehicle, the car began to move on its own, emitting a series of mechanical clicks and shifts. In moments, the car transformed into a three-meter-tall robot with a humanoid frame. Its sleek body was dark red, and a fiery insignia glowed on its chest.
"Boss, Lamborghini is at your service!" The newly born Autobot saluted Yi, its voice respectful and full of life.
"Hahaha! This is incredible!" Yi exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement. "From now on, you're 'Lambo'! Come on, let's go for a ride!"
"Yes, my master!" Lambo responded. It transformed back into car form, its door swinging open in invitation.
---
"Wait!"
Just as Yi was about to hop into the car and leave, Sasori finally broke his silence.
He had seen many extraordinary things in his life, but this was a true marvel—a lifeless object gaining sentience and autonomy.
"Senpai, is there something else?" Yi turned back with a knowing smile, hiding his amusement. He had anticipated Sasori's reaction—after all, who wouldn't be fascinated by a real Transformer?
"Ahem!" Sasori coughed awkwardly, knowing his eagerness was showing. "Yi, can you explain what just happened? How is this possible?"
Yi pretended to consider for a moment, then smiled. "Why don't you join me for a ride, and I'll explain on the way?"
---
Moments later, the two of them were cruising through the open roads in Lambo.
"That's Sasori-senpai, isn't it?" Deidara muttered to himself as he spotted the car driving off. "What's he doing with Yi? And what is that car? It's so... artistic!"
A glimmer of inspiration lit up in Deidara's eyes. "I need to make something like that! A clay masterpiece on wheels!"
---
"Alright, Yi, explain." Sasori's tone was serious as they drove through the countryside.
"This is a new ability I recently developed," Yi began. "It involves combining fire chakra with yin-yang chakra to create a unique [Bloodline Ability] capable of granting life to mechanical objects."
"Fascinating," Sasori murmured, though a trace of disappointment flickered in his eyes. He had hoped it was a method to combine human souls with puppets—a path to perfection in his pursuit of eternal life.
Still, Lambo's creation gave him valuable inspiration for his own research.
"By the way, Sasori-senpai," Yi said, steering the conversation in a new direction, "why did you join the Akatsuki?"
"What do you mean?" Sasori asked, his voice guarded.
"Just curious about how you view the organization's plans," Yi replied nonchalantly.
"It doesn't matter," Sasori said after a pause. "Whether the plan succeeds or fails, the world will still be a rotten place. Nothing changes."
Yi nodded slightly. Sasori's words carried the bitterness of someone who had experienced deep disappointment in life. "What if I told you that Pain intends to abandon the plan?"
Sasori froze, turning to look at Yi with narrowed eyes. "You mean you've already convinced him?"
Yi smiled faintly. "Would you like to know why?"
Sasori studied Yi for a long moment, sensing the weight behind his words. Finally, he nodded. "Tell me."
