Nightfall.

Makoto returned to the Hyuga clan's residence but didn't go back to his own place.

Instead, he went directly to Ayari's doorstep.

He found his actions a bit strange, always going to a girl's house late at night.

Despite thinking this, he still reached out and knocked on the door.

With the sound of approaching footsteps, the door opened.

Ayari appeared to have just finished showering, her hair still damp, and she was wearing only a nightgown.

A pleasant scent of shampoo wafted through the air.

It was a different fragrance from Ayano's.

Ayari looked at Makoto standing outside the door and pursed her lips.

"What are you doing here?"

Makoto smiled faintly. "What, not welcoming me?"

One stood outside the door, and the other inside, and they just stood there.

Ayari wondered if letting Makoto inside would lead to him being inappropriate with her like that night.

"Come in."

Makoto walked inside, and immediately felt a wave of warmth.

"The days are getting colder; it's almost winter."

"Who told you to wear so little?"

Spi excitedly ran up to Makoto, wagging its tail.

Ayari poured him a glass of water.

Makoto looked at her and suddenly asked,

"What do you usually do during the day?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, what do you usually do?"

Ayari thought for a moment before answering,

"There's no set routine. Sometimes I just lie around at home, and other times I go out with friends to shop or eat."

Makoto asked, "You have friends?"

Ayari snorted, "What do you mean by that? Doesn't everyone have friends?"

"...I've never seen them."

"Why would my friends need to be seen by you?"

Makoto shrugged and gently rubbed the tea cup in his hand.

Upon thinking about it, it seemed like Ayano didn't have any friends around her.

This woman is really pitiful.

Makoto suddenly thought of the late Hyuga Iroha, the boy who would often reach out to him.

"What are you thinking about?" Ayari's voice interrupted his thoughts.

Makoto smiled, "Thinking about you."

Ayari's face turned slightly red, and she scoffed, "You're so shameless."

Makoto didn't stay long at her place.

The two only chatted about some daily trivial matters before Makoto stood up to leave.

What Ayari had expected to happen did not occur.

As she walked to the door to see him off, Makoto suddenly turned around, looked at her, and smiled.

"How about a farewell kiss?"

Ayari's face flushed slightly as she replied, "In your dreams!"

Makoto left, gradually disappearing into the night as he walked along the courtyard.

Ayari felt a bit melancholic, thinking to herself that Makoto, the fool, should have been a bit more persistent.

The evening breeze blew against her, and Ayari, dressed too lightly, felt a chill.

There was no sign of anyone in the distance.

Ayari lowered her head, slowly turning around to close the door.

Daytime.

While Makoto was handling official duties, he suddenly received a report from his subordinates that someone from the Root faction had clashed with the Uchiha clan, and a fight had broken out in the streets.

Makoto pondered for a moment before asking if Fugaku had arrived yet.

The Anbu replied that when they reported back, Uchiha Fugaku had not appeared yet.

Makoto walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, using his sensory abilities to scan the area, and soon discovered that Fugaku had already arrived.

Then Makoto simply said to the Anbu, "I see," and returned to his seat to continue handling official matters.

Meanwhile, on the streets of Konoha, Fugaku was bowing to two Root ninjas, apologizing on behalf of the Uchiha.

Onlookers murmured among themselves, while the Uchiha clansmen standing behind Fugaku wore expressions of anger.

Fugaku, however, seemed oblivious to the reactions around him, taking all the blame onto the Uchiha without complaint.

The Root ninja before him was a man named Aburame Ryoma, someone Fugaku recognized as holding a significant position under Danzo.

"Captain Fugaku, you're being too hard on yourself. This isn't entirely the Uchiha's fault—we share some of the responsibility as well," Aburame Ryoma said.

"No matter the circumstances, we shouldn't have resorted to violence," Fugaku replied.

"I will ensure my clansmen are properly disciplined when we return."

Aburame Ryoma nodded.

"Captain Fugaku, since we're all working together now, we'll inevitably spend a lot of time in each other's company.

It's important to show mutual understanding and tolerance."

Fugaku smiled politely. "You're absolutely right, Ryoma-san."

Both sides eventually went their separate ways, though the Uchiha clansmen behind Fugaku were still visibly upset.

Fugaku let out a long sigh and said,

"I've warned you before—under no circumstances are you to clash with the Root members."

"Captain, why do we have to put up with those people like this?"

"Exactly! They were the ones being unreasonable!

Tetsuka only acted because he couldn't stand it anymore!"

Fugaku had no explanation that would satisfy them.

In the end, he could only say, "Just trust me and do as I say. I won't let the Root members remain in the police force for much longer."

Hokage Tower.

Kakashi brought Guy to his assigned Anbu squad.

Guy was carrying his newly issued Anbu uniform, mask, and standard short blade.

Kakashi glanced at Guy's green jumpsuit and said,

"Didn't I tell you to change your outfit? There's no concealment at all in that."

Guy cheerfully pulled another set of clothing out of the bag he was holding and said, "I'll just wear an extra layer over it!"

Kakashi frowned. "Wearing so much will affect your mobility, won't it?"

Guy, however, grinned confidently.

"Not at all! This set is an ultra-thin version I specifically prepared—it works perfectly as an inner layer!"

Kakashi: "…"

The two entered the room, where two others were already resting.

"Yo, Kakashi," Hakumen greeted casually.

He then turned his attention to the person next to Kakashi and smiled,

"So this is Might Guy, right? Lord Makoto has already given us a heads-up."

Guy flashed his signature smile, giving a thumbs-up as he introduced himself:

"That's right! I am the Proud Green Beast of Konoha—Might Guy!"

As he finished, he made sure to show off his gleaming white teeth.

Hakumen : "..."

His smile froze on his face, and he glanced at Kakashi.

Kakashi, however, remained silent and subtly took a step away from Guy.

Might Guy, as outgoing as ever, warmly greeted Hakumen and the others:

"We're teammates now, right? I'll be counting on you all!"

Hakumen nodded stiffly, forcing a polite smile, but internally he wondered if Lord Makoto had lost his mind, sending someone this eccentric to the Anbu.

Kakashi introduced them, "This is Hyuga Hakumen, and that's Hyuga Kiyomi."

Guy beamed, "Nice to meet you both!"

Kakashi sighed and said, "Get changed first. We're on duty at the Hokage's office today."

Guy instantly became excited—this was his first assignment since joining the Anbu.

He quickly dressed himself, putting on the extra outfit he had brought over his green jumpsuit, before finally layering the Anbu uniform on top.

Hakumen and Kiyomi watched in deadpan silence as Guy went through his elaborate dressing routine.

"All set, Kakashi! Let's go!" Guy said enthusiastically.

After the two left, Kiyomi couldn't help but turn to Hakumen and ask,

"Is this guy out of his mind?"

"I just remembered something…" Hakumen suddenly said,

"Back in the Academy, there was a guy who failed everything except taijutsu.

Every day, he'd train like a madman on the training grounds, setting himself a bunch of impossible goals, calling it self-discipline."

Kiyomi was astonished. "There was really someone like that?"

Hakumen nodded.

"I wasn't in the same year as Kakashi, so I've only heard of him.

But if Lord Makoto placed him here, then there must be a reason behind it."
