In the dense forest, a figure dressed in a black cloak was rushing forward at high speed.

Beneath the hood was a head wrapped in white cloth, with one eye tightly shut and irregular scars on the right half of his face.

"Dammit, why now..." he muttered to himself, as loud explosions echoed from a distance, making his heart grow more anxious.

"Obito, my partner sent a message. It's not far from here," another voice sounded from his body.

Obito gazed into the distance at the massive waves of force erupting, the battle appearing extremely intense.

His heart sank even further.

Ever since he received the news that Kakashi and Rin were in danger, he had been rushing toward this location non-stop.

And now, just like last time, his teacher Minato wasn't here!

"Obito, the upcoming battle..."

The voice of White Zetsu came again, but just as this happened, a shadow suddenly flashed in front of him.

The speed was incredibly fast, and he didn't have time to react.

He couldn't even see who the attacker was, only feeling something pierce his neck.

His consciousness instantly blurred.

"Sleep now, good child."

That was the last thing he heard.

Orochimaru held a syringe and pierced it into Obito's neck.

Two giant serpents shot out from his body and bit down on the necks of the two White Zetsu bodies.

Below the dense forest, a group of people slowly appeared, carrying several White Zetsu corpses.

"Lord Hokage! It's all taken care of!"

Orochimaru leapt down from the tree branch, gently placing Obito's body on the ground.

The sounds of battle in the distance slowly began to quiet down.

"Lord Hokage, how did you find these creatures? Our Byakugan couldn't detect them!"

This group of people were the Anbu members brought by Orochimaru, all of them from the Hyuga clan, including those who had been selected by Makoto for the Anbu previously.

His already pale skin was even more ghastly white on the pinky finger, identical to the color of White Zetsu.

He said, "As long as you become like them, you'll be able to detect them."

Orochimaru couldn't suppress his desire to take Obito back and conduct thorough research on him in his lab.

It wasn't long before Obito woke up, the first thing he saw being Orochimaru's cold, hard face, causing him to startle and jump.

"D-D-Did I... see correctly? Lord Orochimaru?"

Obito shook his head, trying to clear his vision.

"It really is you, Lord Orochimaru!"

Orochimaru let out a cryptic laugh. "It's been a while, Obito."

It really was Orochimaru!

Obito froze for a moment, then quickly said,

"Lord Orochimaru! Please, you must help save Rin!"

His mind couldn't even process what had just happened or why he had passed out.

"Don't worry, Rin is fine," Orochimaru reassured him.

As one of the legendary Sannin, Orochimaru's words carried weight in Obito's mind.

Obito quickly asked, "Where is Rin now? Has she been rescued? What about Kakashi?"

A member of the Hyuga Anbu spoke up, "Reinforcements from the village have arrived. They're all safe."

Obito finally breathed a sigh of relief, muttering to himself, "That's great! That's great!"

Rin and Kakashi were safe, and he had run into people from the village.

It was undoubtedly the best outcome!

Moreover, he would soon be able to see Rin again—though he wondered if his current appearance would scare her...

And Kakashi... he wondered how his Sharingan was doing...

Obito tried to get up, but then realized belatedly that his right arm was gone.

The white Zetsu that had been lying on him had also disappeared.

Orochimaru squinted his eyes. "Obito, are you saddened by their deaths?"

Obito remained silent.

He didn't think these white Zetsu were inherently bad.

"Obito, come help me with something."
