Chapter 110: Chapter 110
Uzumaki Chito listened to the guardian ninjas' plea, their voices trembling with desperation yet still tinged with an air of entitlement. His lips curled into a sneer as he responded:
"Help you rescue the Daimyo from Konoha?" He raised an eyebrow, his tone mocking. "What's in it for me?"
The guardian ninjas froze, their pleas faltering. They exchanged confused glances, clearly unprepared for such a response.
Finally, an older guardian ninja stepped forward, his voice incredulous. "That's the Daimyo! Isn't rescuing him a duty for any ninja of the Land of Fire?"
Chito's gaze darkened, his disdain palpable. The implication in the man's words was clear: saving the Daimyo wasn't a choice—it was an obligation.
Even Naruto felt the weight of the situation shift. He sighed internally, already predicting his grandfather's reaction. You've dug your own grave, he thought.
Chito's expression hardened. With a swift motion of his sleeve, a powerful gust of wind erupted, sweeping the guardian ninjas off their feet like scattered leaves. They crashed to the ground in a heap, utterly humiliated.
To Chito, it was no different than brushing away dust.
"Pathetic," Chito muttered, his voice cold. He turned to Naruto, his sharp eyes locking onto him. "Naruto, do you know what you did wrong this time?"
Naruto blinked, taken aback. The series of chaotic events—Konoha's ambushes, Sasuke's sudden appearance, the false accusations—had left him with little time to reflect.
Now, with his grandfather's stern question hanging in the air, Naruto began to piece it all together. His heart sank as he realized how easily he had been manipulated.
I've been led by the nose this entire time, he thought, a cold sweat forming on his brow. If it weren't for Grandpa and the Nine-Tails, I'd be dead by now.
Muttering to himself, he admitted, "So this is what it means to be reckless in the face of strategy…"
Chito rolled his eyes, then smacked Naruto lightly on the head.
"Idiot!" he barked. "Who cares about strategy? Do you think Konoha's schemes are stronger than your nine-tailed cloak or my fists? Stop overthinking all this nonsense!"
Naruto rubbed his head, wincing, but Chito's words began to clear his muddled thoughts.
"What's your mission?" Chito asked, his tone sharp.
Naruto straightened, his mind finally focusing. "To find the Daimyo of the Land of Fire and get him to recognize Shin-Konoha's legitimacy."
Chito nodded, his expression softening slightly. "Exactly. So focus on your mission. Anything that stands in your way—smash it to pieces! Kill anyone who dares block your path!"
Naruto hesitated, unsure. "But, Grandpa, the Daimyo's been taken by Konoha. How can I complete the mission if I can't even find him?"
Chito sighed heavily, shaking his head in exasperation. He placed a hand on Naruto's head, as if trying to knock some sense into him.
"Minato was brilliant, and Kushina was cunning. How did two geniuses end up with such a simple-minded kid?" he muttered.
Naruto flushed, both embarrassed and annoyed.
Chito continued, his tone more measured. "If Konoha's taken this Daimyo, then find another one! It doesn't matter who the Daimyo is, as long as they recognize Shin-Konoha's status. Do you understand now?"
Naruto's eyes widened as the realization hit him. A wide grin spread across his face as he pumped his fists in excitement.
"You're right!" he exclaimed. "I don't need to chase after the Daimyo Konoha took—I can just make a new one!"
With renewed determination, Naruto turned and sprinted toward the Daimyo's mansion.
Moments later, Naruto arrived at the grand gates of the mansion, his mind racing with ideas. However, before he could act, he spotted the guardian ninjas from earlier. They had returned, battered and disheveled but still clinging to their sense of duty.
Seeing Naruto approach, their leader, now bandaged and limping, pointed an accusatory finger.
"Uzumaki Naruto! What are you planning to do?" he demanded, his voice filled with frustration and desperation.
Naruto stopped, his expression calm but tinged with mockery. The corners of his mouth curled into a smirk as he released a surge of Nine-Tails' chakra.
The crimson energy swirled around him, forming six thick tails that lashed the air with destructive force.
"What do you think?" Naruto replied, his voice low and confident.
Without warning, the six tails snapped forward like whips, slamming into the guardian ninjas and sending them sprawling.
