Naruto: AFK System

Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Kakashi, although wanting to chat with Yoruha a bit longer, decided against it as he realized Yoruha needed rest. He said, "Take a good rest first. Train only after you're fully recovered."

Yoruha nodded.

Without saying anything further, Kakashi disappeared from the room.

Once Yoruha could no longer sense Kakashi's chakra, he exhaled in relief.

Looking down at his hands, Yoruha frowned. "What's really going on here?"

"Even with such precise control, it still went out of control. The chakra inside me is indeed strange."

After a moment, Yoruha began to slowly channel chakra into his hands.

In no time, the chakra materialized around his hands.

But unlike the usual blue color, Yoruha's chakra was now golden.

This discovery left him even more astonished.

"My chakra really is different from others'. Could this be the Sage Chakra Kakashi mentioned?"

"But isn't Sage Chakra supposed to be blue as well?"

"And this dense feeling—it seems much stronger than regular chakra."

Yoruha felt unfamiliar with the chakra inside his body.

"Besides, my chakra control should be excellent. How did it go berserk last night?"

No matter how he thought about it, Yoruha couldn't figure it out.

"This system of mine is too rigid. It doesn't even let me ask questions. Looks like I'll have to figure this out myself."

After leaving Yoruha's house, Kakashi headed straight for Kihon Tōichi.

When Tōichi heard that the commotion from last night was caused by Yoruha, he was stunned.

"It was really Yoruha?"

Tōichi found it hard to believe. Though he was aware of Yoruha's exceptional talent, the scale of the incident last night was beyond what even he could achieve.

No matter how strong Yoruha was, there was no way he could've caused destruction comparable to a Tailed Beast Bomb at his current level.

But Kakashi nodded affirmatively, confirming the matter.

Tōichi couldn't calm the turmoil in his heart. "What's going on with Yoruha?"

This event completely exceeded Tōichi's imagination. He had originally assumed that the commotion last night was caused by Naruto losing control.

Although the Third Hokage had claimed it was the result of an Anbu ninjutsu experiment, most of the jonin in the village knew the general truth of the matter.

Almost all the jonin believed that the Nine-Tails had gone berserk.

The Third Hokage had suppressed the information to protect Naruto.

After all, Jinchuriki were already despised by the people in the village.

If the villagers learned that the commotion last night was caused by Naruto losing control, they might take action against him.

Such incidents were something all Jinchuriki had faced.

For example, Killer Bee had even been targeted for assassination by members of his own village.

Compared to Killer Bee, Naruto's treatment was significantly better.

No one threw eggs at Naruto, nor did anyone attempt to assassinate him.

At most, they just kept their distance.

One must remember, during the Nine-Tails' rampage, many villagers lost their loved ones.

And since Naruto was the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, in their eyes, he was essentially the Nine-Tails itself—their enemy.

Even under such circumstances, Naruto wasn't short on friends. Shikamaru, Choji, Shino, and Kiba were the kind of troublemakers who would even skip class with Naruto.

And there was also Teuchi and Ayame from the Ichiraku Ramen shop, who held no ill will toward Naruto.

Compared to Killer Bee, Naruto's treatment was essentially no different from that of an ordinary person.

But if the villagers learned that Naruto had lost control, no matter how much the Third Hokage favored him, the villagers likely wouldn't tolerate Naruto anymore.

Who would want to stay near someone who was like a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment?

They would probably demand that the Third Hokage imprison Naruto.

At that point, even if the villagers learned that Naruto was the son of the Fourth Hokage, it wouldn't matter.

After all, Minato Namikaze had only served as Hokage for a few years. His status in the hearts of the villagers wasn't very high, even though he was the hero who saved the village.

But no matter how much of a hero he was, if his son was an uncontrollable threat—a weapon of mass destruction that could one day lose control and kill countless people—no one would gamble their lives on it.

Under such circumstances, even if Naruto was the son of a hero, no one would want to take the risk.

This was why the jonin of Konoha believed the Third Hokage had deliberately suppressed the information to maintain stability and prevent panic among the villagers.

Who would've thought that the person responsible for such a massive commotion was their own student?

Kihon Tōichi's brain froze for a moment, unable to process the information.

At the same time, he was overwhelmed with anxiety.

"Who else knows about this?"

What Tōichi feared most was Yoruha being exposed to others.

If that happened, Yoruha's treatment wouldn't be much better than Naruto's.

Kakashi hesitated before replying, "Only the Third Hokage and I know about it."

Tōichi raised his head and glared at Kakashi. "You told the Third Hokage?"

Tōichi was furious.

Now that the Third Hokage knew, Tōichi was well aware of what Yoruha's fate might be.

He was so angry he nearly attacked Kakashi.

Kakashi quickly explained, "Calm down. The Third Hokage hasn't taken him away, and he even has high hopes for Yoruha. You don't need to worry so much."

But Tōichi wasn't so easily convinced. "You know how unreliable the Third Hokage's promises can be."

As someone who had worked in the Anbu, Tōichi had seen plenty of Konoha's darker side.

Kakashi sighed and said, "Think about it. In that situation yesterday, do you think keeping it a secret would've been better or worse for Yoruha?"

"If I hadn't said anything, and the Third Hokage had found out on his own, Yoruha would probably spend the rest of his life under constant Anbu surveillance."

"Now, the best thing we can do is help Yoruha quickly master the power within him, so he has the ability to protect himself."

"We need to let the Third Hokage see his value."

"That's the only way he can live openly under the sun."

Kakashi's emotions grew agitated.

Normally, he was calm and composed, but when it came to Yoruha, his emotions were easily affected.

Tōichi fell silent.

He knew Kakashi was right.

If the Third Hokage were to investigate the truth, Yoruha would be quickly exposed.

When that happened, Yoruha would be seen as a threat to Konoha.

Even if he weren't imprisoned, he'd likely be under constant Anbu surveillance.

Any minor action Yoruha took might prompt the Anbu to act against him.

After a long pause, Tōichi finally asked, "What kind of power is inside Yoruha? How could it be so terrifying?"

Tōichi had witnessed the devastation from the previous night.

The sheer magnitude of the power was comparable to the Tailed Beast Bombs used by the Nine-Tails during its rampage years ago.

Fortunately, it had occurred in the mountains. If it had been in Konoha, the entire residential area would've been leveled.

This was no exaggeration.

At the center of the explosion caused by Yoruha was a massive crater hundreds of meters wide.

The shockwave extended for several kilometers.

Within that radius, trees, plants, and rocks were reduced to ash.

Such destructive power could only be compared to that of a Tailed Beast Bomb.

For this reason, when the explosion occurred, many jonin had assumed it was caused by the Nine-Tails losing control and unleashing a Tailed Beast Bomb.
