Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Jin Yucheon
I love Murim-manwha. For me personally, it is the greatest genre ever created. But that's for me, I won't headbutt others just because they don't agree with my opinion.
I don't know why, but this genre rekindled my love for martial arts.
When I was young I always watched Kung-fu movies, I loved them, I was obsessed with them to the point that I even enrolled in a martial arts dojo just to get a feel of martial arts.
At first it was Karate, then it turned into Taekwondo, and then into Muay Thai, then boxing, then judo, then jiu-jitsu.
I tried everything I could get my hands on. But suddenly as I grew older and more focused on my future and career, I forgot; nay not forgot but buried all of these things I loved.
The world is not too kind for me to act on my childhood passion, I don't have any time for them anymore due to my growing career.
Then I found manhwa, at first it was just a small interest but when I read my first Murim Manhwa I fell in love.
Nano Machine.
That's the first murim manwha I read and it was fucking amazing.
The romance of clashing swords, destructive fist, mystical arts of that manhwa resonates with me. After I finished the manhwa I was stuck but thankfully it had a light novel so I managed to finish the series.
After that I continued going through more and more murim-manhwa until it became boring. Everything that was once exciting became boring.
I stopped reading manhwa and focused more on my career. I graduated college, underwent training and passed the licensure.
By the time I was 23 I achieved my dream job and became an Aircraft Mechanic. From there I worked my way up until I became Chief Technician, saved up enough money and studied flying until I became a Pilot.
Everything was going well until one day.
On my usual flight, I was flying a Boeing 777-300er and my destination was from Burnaby Canada to Xinjiang' Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport. A 19+ hours long-haul flight, it was going to be super exhausting but the pay was sure gonna be worth it.
As I was flying towards there I suddenly remembered Nano Machine. Xinjiang is where the Ten Thousand Mountains of the Sky Demon Order is.
It's the setting of Nano Machine.
A small nostalgic smile emerged on my face. But my happiness was short lived as the airplane suddenly started violently shaking.
I was confused and quite frankly afraid. I knew that I didn't go through the route with many mountains since there would be a lot of mountain waves.
The turbulence was strong. It was so strong that I lost control over the aircraft, I mean literally, the control suddenly stopped working and before I knew it the plane I was flying was already plunging to the ground.
At that moment I cursed myself. I cursed the damn wind, I cursed the aircraft for notwithstanding enough, I cursed the flight dispatcher for giving me the wrong route, I cursed the Mechanic for releasing the aircraft with faulty equipment, and most of all I cursed myself for being an incompetent pilot.
As my plane dived to the ground I heard the panic cries of my passenger and crew. With no more hope I turned on the mic and said.
"This is your captain speaking. Please pray and hug your loved ones, our plane is descending at 547 km/h and I lost all control over the aircraft. We may only have two to three minutes left, please pray to your respective faith and wish us good luck. This has been a wild flight." And I cut off my mic.
Even though all of the controls were disconnected I still tried to do something. I don't want to just embrace death without fighting.
As I was desperately pulling the yoke I suddenly remembered something funny.
'Oh yeah, tomorrow's my birthday.'
What an unlucky flight.
I tried everything to save the lives of my passengers. I pushed all kinds of buttons, the emergency flight control, the yoke, everything.
But alas, it was futile.
My plane crashed and I died.
July 15, 2056 Flight 485, Burnaby to Xinjiang, 309 casualty. The tragedy of flight 485.
*******
It was quite the shameful death but I guess I can't complain. I achieved what I set out for and became a Pilot.
If I do have a regret it would be not having a family and forgetting my passion for martial arts. But alas one can't have too many good things without having to suffer the consequences.
I embraced my death and the eternal darkness covered me. But as I thought everything was over a blinding light burst forth.
I felt my body being squeezed out and an involuntary infantile cry left my mouth.
I opened my eyes but I can't get any inkling of what's happening to me. I could only involuntary cry.
I heard something, just a very faint word. Or name.
"Jin Yucheon."
I realized I got reincarnated, but with my memories intact. And based on the intonation and their language I'm somewhere around Asia, specifically the East.
So probably China. I'm already getting a clue of where I am. As I grew, I learned how to speak their language and the thing I was constantly hearing was this word.
Sky Demon Order.
And that confirms it. I'm in Nano Machine.
I was elated. I was so happy that I lost all control over my body and laughed like a maniac.
I have a clear goal. Sorry Cheon Yuweon but I think I'm gonna take the Nano Machine for myself.
No hard feelings buddy.
Now all I need to do is prepare.
Prepare for one moment where my destiny will converge into one point.
