The Image of the Time Mirror

As soon as the heavy doors of the palace opened, Vaidika and Arahan (Shaurya) rushed in. The time guardians were running behind the chariot, but as soon as the palace doors closed, an invisible force stopped them from entering.

Vaidika breathed a sigh of relief.

"Now they can't come in here... at least for some time."

But Arahan was still in shock.

"What is all this happening? I am getting strange visions in my mind, as if I have been here before... but all this is impossible!"

Vaidika looked into his eyes and said softly—

"Your memories are slowly coming back, Shaurya. And this is what the time guardians wanted to stop. If you remember everything, their biggest secret will be revealed."

Arahan took a deep breath. "What secret?"

The power of the Time Mirror

Vaidika took Arahan's hand and led him to a secret chamber inside the palace. This chamber was different from the rest of the palace—there was a mysterious glow inside, and there were carved inscriptions on the walls, with something written in ancient script.

In the center of the chamber was a huge mirror—the Time Mirror.

"This is the mirror that separated us... and this is what will tell you the truth," Vaidika said.

Arahan stepped forward and gently touched the mirror.

As soon as his fingers touched the surface of the mirror, a bright light spread, and he was once again pulled into a time vortex.

Rebirth of the past

Now he was in a different scene—

The same palace hundreds of years ago, but this time he could see himself in a different form.

He was Shaurya—the prince of the palace. Vaidika was his lover, and they were both standing in front of the Time Mirror.

"From today onwards, we will always be together," Shaurya (Arahan) had said.

But just then, the time guardians stormed into the palace!

"Don't touch this mirror! It controls the greatest power of time!" one of the time guardians shouted.

But Shaurya held Vaidika's hand and touched the mirror.

And... there was a terrible explosion.

The truth revealed

Arahan (Shaurya) opened his eyes—he was back in the secret chamber of the palace.

His breath was racing. Now he remembered everything.

"We did something very big by touching this mirror... something that changed the timelines."

Vaidika's eyes were filled with tears.

"Yes, Shaurya. We broke time... and that's why we were separated that day."

There was no time left... and Arahan had to make a decision soon.

Arahan felt a slight pain in his head. As he remembered the past, a strange burden was increasing on his consciousness. He looked at his hands—for a few seconds his fingers became blurred, as if he himself was getting stuck between time.

"What is happening?" he asked in panic.

Vaidika looked at him with worried eyes.

"The time guardians are watching you, Shaurya... as your memories are returning, they are trying to erase your existence."

Arahan's heart started beating fast.

The secret of the Time Mirror

"We have to do something," he said. "If I broke the timelines, then I have to fix it."

Vaidika took a deep breath and pointed towards the mirror.

"This Time Mirror not only shows time, Shaurya... it can also bend time. But for this you need its real key."

"Key?"

Vaidika gently took out an old silver chain from her wrist. A shining piece of sapphire was studded in that chain.

"This is the real key to the Time Mirror."

The attack of the time guardians

Just as Vaidika brought the key close to the mirror, the doors of the palace shook loudly.

The time guardians had entered the palace.

There was a different kind of cruelty in their eyes.

"Stop!" one of them said in a thundering voice. "If you activate this mirror again, time will be broken forever!"

Arahan ignored his words.

"If I don't do anything, we will always be trapped in this time trap."

The change of time

Vaidika placed the key in the center of the mirror.

The surface of the mirror started to move—as if a wave had risen in the water. And then, a new image started to emerge in it—

An alternative timeline.

The game of time had now entered its final stage... and a wrong decision could destroy everything.

Waves were rising on the surface of the Time Mirror, as if time itself was trying to reorganize itself. Arahan's heart was beating fast.

"If I don't use this key properly, time can be shattered forever."

There was worry in Vaidika's eyes. "We have to hurry, Shaurya... the time guardians are about to reach here!"

But just then...

The last bet of the time guardians

The time guardians appeared like arrows in the air. Their leader—Krishnavarma—was wrapped in a long, black robe. His eyes were deep and terrifying.

"If you tamper with the mirror, the entire reality can be destroyed!"

Arahan took a deep breath. "And if I do nothing, we will all be trapped in this incomplete story forever!"

Krishnavarma stepped forward, his palm had a strange black glow. "You don't understand, Shaurya! The key to the mirror will not only send it back in time... it can erase your existence!"

The terrifying truth

Arahan stopped. "Erase me?"

Vaidika bowed her head. "Yes, Shaurya... if you don't choose the right stream of time, then maybe this present timeline itself will erase you."

Hearing this, Arahan's body shivered.

"So this will be my final decision?"

The time guardians had surrounded them. There was something in Krishnavarma's eyes that was telling him an incomplete truth.

"So tell me," Arahan asked. "What should I do?"

* Will Arahan fix time by erasing himself?

* Will Vaidika also be affected by this change?

* Who are the time guardians really trying to save?

The fabric of time was now on the verge of breaking... and Arahan had only one chance left.
