Chapter 76: What A Ridiculous Voice
They made their way toward the Seventh Peak and arrived quickly.
The area resembled a lively market on Earth, bustling with activity.
Stalls and shops were everywhere. Stall owners shouted out their products and tried to attract customers with large posters, while the shops were quieter, typically displaying a poster highlighting some interesting items.
"Follow me, I know a great place to drink!" Bai Tao said, leading the way toward the peak's summit.
Soon, Feng Fan found himself standing in front of a two-story bar. The entrance, large enough for an ogre to pass through, was adorned with a sign reading 'Drunk Immortal.'
'Can immortals even get drunk?' Feng Fan wondered as he glanced at the sign.
Before they entered, Feng Fan turned to Bai Tao.
"Why are you so familiar with this place? What have you been doing instead of cultivating?"
Bai Tao coughed but didn't answer the question.
"Let's go, let's go," he said, heading inside.
Feng Fan and Tan Wei smiled and followed him.
Inside, many disciples were seated at wooden tables and chairs. The atmosphere was lively, with many clearly intoxicated.
What caught Feng Fan's attention was that all the waiters were handsome young men.
'Ah, now I understand why Bai Tao likes this place... The wine probably isn't the main reason,' he thought, giving Bai Tao a strange look.
Bai Tao quickly spoke with a waiter he seemed familiar with and asked for a table.
"Brother Liao, I brought my friends today. We need a table for three, and make sure to bring your best wine!"
The waiter, Brother Liao, dressed in menial disciple robes with an apron tied around his waist, smiled warmly and said, "Brother Bai, rest assured. The best is always saved for you!"
Bai Tao's smile widened as he gave Brother Liao a few friendly taps on the shoulder. "You're truly a good brother!"
They quickly settled at a corner table with a window beside them.
"Brother Bai, it's fine to come here once in a while, but don't make this a monthly habit. You'd better focus on cultivating, or I might have a nice chat with your dad," said Tan Wei, attempting to sound threatening.
At the mention of his father, Bai Tao's face paled.
"H-Hey, don't joke around. Of course, cultivating is my main priority. No need to worry!" he said, stammering nervously.
Feng Fan and Tan Wei burst into laughter at his reaction. As they enjoyed their friendly chat, the wine soon arrived.
Feng Fan didn't use to drink back on Earth, but the moment he took a sip and let the wine linger on his tongue, he knew Bai Tao hadn't exaggerated.
"Wow, this wine is amazing!" exclaimed Feng Fan.
Bai Tao's grin widened as he took a sip of his own. "I told you, didn't I?"
Even with his strong body, Feng Fan could feel the wine taking effect on him.
'I wonder what they use here. This definitely isn't ordinary alcohol,' he thought.
Minutes passed as they enjoyed their drinks until three menacing-looking individuals entered the bar.
Leading the group was a man with a sword scar running diagonally across his face and a strong build. His aura revealed he was at the 1st Foundation Establishment realm.
The scarred man strode confidently to a table where two men were seated, happily chatting before his arrival. His two companions followed closely behind him, radiating the same air of intimidation.
The scarred man fixed his gaze on the two seated men, who immediately froze, fear written all over their faces.
"You're sitting at my table," he said, his tone sharp and commanding. But the moment he spoke, his high-pitched voice, reminiscent of a young girl's, surprised Feng Fan.
"S-Sorry, Brother Xiao. W-We're leaving," one of the men stammered.
As they stood to leave, one of them reached for the wine on the table, but Brother Xiao slammed his hand down, stopping him.
"Leave the wine," he said coldly, "and five low-grade qi stones as payment for using my table."
Without a word of protest, the two men set the wine and qi stones down, then quickly hurried away, their heads bowed.
Many people watched the scene unfold with grim expressions, but no one dared to intervene.
"That man is Xiao Xiaobo," Bai Tao whispered, his voice laced with caution. "He's one of Mao Wencheng's men. Mao Wencheng is among the strongest Foundation Establishment cultivators in the White Crow Sect. It's best not to get involved with him."
Bai Tao's warning was clear, but contrary to his hopes, Feng Fan had other plans.
Trouble was exactly what Feng Fan was looking for.
'Don't I need to increase my cultivation? Since this guy is asking for it, I might as well help him out.'
The moment Xiao Xiaobo and his lackeys settled at the table, Feng Fan burst into loud laughter, his voice cutting through the tense silence like a blade.
"Hahaha! Look at this guy! He looks so manly, but his voice sounds like a little girl! What a ridiculous voice!" Feng Fan exclaimed, his words echoing across the bar.
Bai Tao and Tan Wei's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets in disbelief.
'Didn't I just say not to provoke him?!' Bai Tao thought, his face turning pale as he broke out in a cold sweat. Continue reading on empire
Xiao Xiaobo, who had just taken his seat, shot up from his chair, his face twisting in anger.
"What did you just say?!" he growled, his glare sharp enough to pierce through steel.
Xiao Xiaobo's voice was his reverse scale, any mention of it instantly turned someone into his mortal enemy.
He took slow steps toward Feng Fan, his eyes blazing with fury. "Do you dare to repeat yourself?"
Feng Fan stood up calmly, meeting Xiao Xiaobo's hostile gaze with a smirk.
"Since you asked so nicely, why wouldn't I dare?" Feng Fan replied, his tone dripping with mockery. "I said your voice is ridiculous!"
The instant Feng Fan repeated his words, Xiao Xiaobo moved in a blur, closing the distance in a heartbeat and delivering a merciless punch straight to Feng Fan's chest!
