Chapter 75: I Need to Sell Off Some Gifts

'Hmph, if I couldn't guide a disciple to create a pill like this, I'd truly be unworthy of my title as the Alchemist God!' Lai Hu scoffed in Tan Wei's mind.

Feng Fan noticed Elder Peng's excitement and grinned. "Didn't I tell you he was a genius in the Alchemy Dao? For discovering such talent, don't I deserve a reward, Elder Peng?"

Naturally, Elder Peng ignored Feng Fan entirely, his attention solely fixed on Tan Wei.

"Lad, do you want to be my disciple? I promise to teach you everything I know!" Elder Peng said earnestly.

Tan Wei hesitated, looking slightly embarrassed.

He wasn't sure how to reject the offer. While Elder Peng was undoubtedly a skilled alchemist, how could he compare to Lai Hu, the Alchemist God of the immortal world?

Even if Lai Hu wasn't necessarily a better alchemist than Elder Peng, how could Tan Wei simply accept another master?

Once a master, always a father!

Elder Peng noticed Tan Wei's conflicted expression and quickly realized the issue. "Ah, I see. You must already have a master, as expected of someone with your talent. But that doesn't matter! Join my peak to hone your alchemy skills. I'm sure you'll become the best alchemist in the White Crow Sect."

Elder Peng's smile was tinged with regret. 'Such a remarkable talent, and I can't even take him as my disciple. What a pity.'

After hearing Elder Peng's words, Tan Wei's expression softened.

"Thank you, Elder Peng. I promise I won't let you down! In the young generation competition nine months from now, I'll secure the prize for the White Crow Sect!"

Since both Feng Fan and Bai Tao had shown him kindness and the sect had treated him well, Tan Wei felt a deep sense of goodwill toward the White Crow Sect and genuinely wanted to contribute to its success.

'Not bad,' thought Feng Fan, a satisfied smile on his face. 'This protagonist knows how to repay kindness.'

"Good! Good!" said Elder Peng, his joy evident. He handed the qi gathering pills back to Tan Wei before continuing.

"I'll arrange a residence for you near my home. You can come back tomorrow to start your training."

Tan Wei nodded, carefully gathering the pills and placing them inside a jar. Then, he turned toward Feng Fan and stepped closer.

"Brother Feng, this is for you. I'll never forget the help you've given me!"

Feng Fan smiled as he accepted the jar, quickly storing it in his space ring.

'Friendship with a protagonist is truly priceless! I'll make sure this future alchemist god works his butt off for me,' he thought with a harmless smile.

Although Feng Fan was pleased with the pills, they were a gift from Tan Wei and had nothing to do with what he expected Elder Peng to give him.

"Elder Peng, shouldn't you also give me something? After all, I'm the one who found this alchemy genius for you," Feng Fan said with a cheeky grin.

Elder Peng furrowed his brows in irritation. "Kid, the herbs used for these pills were mine. What else do you want?"

Feng Fan smirked. "Elder Peng, do you really think an alchemy genius like Tan Wei is worth so little?"

Tan Wei and Bai Tao chuckled. 'This guy is truly shameless,' they thought.

Elder Peng rolled his eyes before tossing him five middle-grade qi stones.

Feng Fan caught them eagerly, slipping them into his space ring, but he still complained.

"Elder Peng…"

Anticipating more whining, Elder Peng shot him a sharp glare.

"Lad, a single middle-grade qi stone is worth ten thousand low-grade qi stones. Are you seriously about to tell me this isn't enough?"

Feng Fan's eyes widened in shock. "That much?!"

This was the first time he'd learned the true value of middle-grade Qi stones.

'Although they don't hold ten thousand times the spiritual qi of low-grade qi stones, the energy inside them is much purer, so I suppose it makes sense,' he thought.

What amazed Feng Fan even more was the fact that Elder Jiang had paid a hundred middle-grade qi stones for his entry into the pocket dimension.

'That's a million low-grade qi stones! A million! How is it that Elder Jiang, who isn't even an alchemist, is so generous, while Elder Peng, who should be swimming in wealth as an alchemist, is this stingy?' he thought.

Feng Fan quickly masked his surprise with a smile. "What I meant to say was, thank you, Elder Peng. You are truly a generous elder."

"Hmph. Anyone who believes that is a fool. Now leave, I have much to prepare," Elder Peng retorted, waving him off dismissively.

With no reason to stay, Feng Fan left with Tan Wei and Bai Tao.

As they walked, Feng Fan was considering heading back to cultivate, but before he could excuse himself, Bai Tao interrupted his thoughts.

"Why don't we grab a drink? It's been a while since we reunited, and as brothers, we should celebrate our time together in the White Crow Sect!"

Feng Fan raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "A drink? Where are we supposed to find alcohol in the sect?"

Bai Tao grinned, clearly anticipating the question. "Let's head to the Seventh Peak. It's like a massive marketplace inside the sect. There are all kinds of establishments run by elders and disciples. They pay a monthly tax to the sect, and in return, the sect allows them to operate freely."

Feng Fan's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Wow, I had no idea! Damn, I should check it out and find a place to sell off some of my useless stuff. I've got a ton of random trinkets and weapons those disciples in the pocket dimension gave me as a present."

Tan Wei and Bai Tao exchanged a skeptical glance.

'Gave you? Sure... like we'd believe that!'

Bai Tao cleared his throat and repeated, "So, what do you say, Brother Feng, Brother Wei? How about we grab a drink?"

Tan Wei quickly nodded, while Feng Fan saw no reason to refuse.

"Sounds good," he said.

'I'll use this opportunity to sell off all those gifts my friends from the other sects gave me,' he thought.
