Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Ten Female Robots and the Top Secret File on Extraterrestrial Forces
Hearing the alarms blaring, Zeng Shen didn't leave immediately, as his mission wasn't complete. He had identified where the shield tunneling machines and full-face boring machines were located and planned to take them soon. But first, he needed to locate and retrieve the intelligent mechanical species the system had mentioned, lest they bolster the future strength of the U.S.
The basement was in chaos, with alarms blaring and personnel scrambling. Scientists and staff rushed towards the room where the mechanical dinosaurs were stored. Zeng Shen, however, had already teleported to the underground surveillance room.
Watching the monitors, Zeng Shen saw Admiral Bayard, Director Jack, and several heavy industry scientists heading via underground elevator towards the room with the mechanical velociraptors. However, Zeng Shen didn't concern himself with them. Remaining invisible, he watched the screens, searching for the room containing the mechanical species.
He soon noticed a room with a metallic, sci-fi look, housing ten glass pods resembling crystal coffins. Inside each pod lay a small, exquisitely formed female robot, their bodies gleaming with alloy metal. Each robot's head contained a fist-sized object resembling an electromagnetic core, continuously emitting electrical currents into their bodies.
"Could these female robots be the future intelligent mechanical species?" Zeng Shen speculated, teleporting to the room.
Upon arrival, a system warning sounded urgently.
[Danger! Danger! The host is about to disturb the sleeping intelligent mechanical species. Given the current strength of the host, it would be difficult to handle. Please retreat swiftly.]
"Looks like it's them," Zeng Shen confirmed, casting Peeping Eyes on the female robots.
[Intelligent Species: Mechanical Tribe]
[Mechanical Heart: Grade C]
[Tier: 3/10000]
[Name: Unnamed]
[Skills: Unactivated]
[Faith: None]
[Mood: None]
[Analysis: Each mechanical tribe member possesses a high-speed operating mechanical heart. Even if the heart stops, breaks, or emits divine energy, it doesn't signify death. In millions of years, they could gather enough energy to restart. A Grade C mechanical heart equates to ordinary qualification.]
Seeing the panels for these Grade C mechanical heart female robots filled Zeng Shen with immense joy. He concentrated, instantly transferring all the female robots into his backpack space.
"Beep beep beep..." The room's alarms blared, alerting Bayard, Jack, and others in the basement once more.
Ignoring the alarms, Zeng Shen teleported from the secret base to the surface, appearing in a massive warehouse filled with two completed full-face boring machines and one shield tunneling machine.
These machines occupied significant space. Without hesitation, Zeng Shen collected them all before teleporting away, concluding his zero-cost acquisition spree.
Back in Old Gold Mountain City, the soldiers who had previously blocked the streets and alleys were now rushing towards the southern gate outside the city.
Taking advantage of this, Zeng Shen found an empty corner, released No. 1, and drove towards the nearby hardware wholesale market.
At the hardware store, he purchased various tools for carpentry, blacksmithing, and farming, loading them into the vehicle.
Later, he placed these tools near the Lake of Beasts for the intelligent mechanical caretakers to use.
Before leaving the divine realm, he summoned a new divine energy vehicle to assist in constructing wooden shelters for the animals, replacing the simple structures.
Once his tasks were complete, Zeng Shen used the Wormhole Tracking Card to return to his apartment in Jinhai City. He then sent Xiao Ai a message.
"I've brought the shield tunneling machine and full-face boring machines from the U.S. Where are you? I'll come to you."
"Master, I'm at the outskirts of the eastern city at our planned Longshen New City area, waiting for deliveries to the vacuum-sealed storage," Xiao Ai quickly replied.
In the underground base of the Jinshan Heavy Industry Plant, Admiral Bayard, Director Jack, Dr. Ella, and the top robotics experts from the U.S. gathered in the surveillance room, watching footage from three rooms: the mechanical velociraptor and T-rex storage, the female robot room, and the above-ground warehouse storing the shield tunneling machines.
The footage looped at an extremely slow speed, as they attempted to discern how the machines had vanished so mysteriously.
Despite nearly half an hour of scrutiny, the footage only showed the machines disappearing into thin air, with no evidence of human intervention.
A white-haired U.S. scientist, Dr. Gulen, frowned deeply, asking the control operator, "Can you slow it down further?"
"Dr. Gulen, this is the slowest speed, frame by frame," the operator replied.
Dr. Gulen slumped to the floor, despondent.
Colleagues rushed to support him. "Dr. Gulen, are you okay?"
Looking up slowly, Dr. Gulen murmured, "Gone... all gone. These were ultra-nuclear weapons nearly a century in the making, aimed at Daxia. Solving the energy core issue of those ten female robots would have solved the driving issue of the mechanical dinosaurs, bringing them to fruition. But now..."
The other scientists shared his dismay, faces dark with disappointment.
Suddenly, a military officer entered, addressing Bayard and Jack, "The president has called. He wants you both to take the call outside."
Bayard and Jack exchanged glances before hurrying out to take the call.
Shortly after, they returned with grim faces, accompanied by soldiers.
"The president has classified this as an extraterrestrial force incident. All materials are to be sealed and moved to Area 56. Everyone aware of this must cease current experiments, record statements in separate rooms, sign top-secret agreements, and await further orders before resuming related work."
"Are they trying to detain us for a while? My experiment can't be stopped for days," a Japanese scientist protested.
Admiral Bayard drew his pistol, aiming at the scientist's head. "Dr. Shitada, will you cooperate?"
"Yes, yes, I will..."
