Mummy Evolution

Chapter 112: Pathway to Godhood became Clearer!

Sett easily took the Fruit of Insight and for now, stored it inside his Inner Tomb.

Meanwhile, Uncle Door looked at the Regretful Old Man.

"Now, you can ask me anything that you find impossible, and I will help you make it a possibility!" It tempted. "And you better not give that chance to others, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!"

The Old Regretful Man was obviously intrigued and full of temptation.

Sett simply placed a palm on the man's shoulder.

"Old Man, you can either ask the question I want, or I will kill you."

Zarah and Zainah looked at each other, saying with their eyes: 'Sett is so unpredictable.'

The Door Spirit sneered audibly.

"That is a useless threat, brat. You say you will kill this guy?" It laughed. "This guy is already on his deathbed, he is far too old. What if you kill him, what if you don't kill him?"

"That is true…" The Old Man became hesitant.

Shouldn't he then use this chance for himself?

He did have a question that he wanted to ask.

The Door said that everything was possible, then was even time travel into the past possible?

Can he regress back in time?

Can he increase his lifespan?

Sett, of course, guessed what the man wanted to ask.

But he didn't want to waste this chance on that question—even though it was a curious subject, his main focus was on Godhood.

He wanted to know exactly what he had done wrong in his past life.

He did not want to fail in his last chance.

The Old Man stared at Sett's cold eyes and came to a decision inwardly.

I will ask the Door my own question. This young man will probably kill me, but so what?

He was willing to risk his life.

I will sacrifice my useless old bones for a question!

Sett suddenly chuckled coldly.

"You are quite daring. But let me tell you one thing. If you betray me, I will kill someone else due to my anger. Old man, aren't you someone with a conscience?

"If you don't mind dying for your question, sure. Let me ask, do you mind killing for your question?

"If you don't ask the question I want, I will kill ten people because of you. Are you willing to die knowing that you killed ten people just for a question?"

The Old Man immediately paled.

Even the Door became silent.

Sett's gaze was cold. Blackmailing? Temptation? Psychological Manipulation?

Were those new to him?

Heh.

The Old Man became utterly frightened. He might be willing to easily sacrifice himself, but he had a heart that wouldn't rest in peace if he knew he killed for personal gain.

Seeing the Old Man was frightened enough, Sett nodded.

"You lived with regret, don't die with regret as well."

That finally made the Old Man's face ease.

Sett said his ultimatum. "So, ask my question. How can a person become the best in all facets of life?"

The Old Man hesitated for five heartbeats, then, asked that question to the Door.

The Door Spirit became infuriated. "Bastard! Bastard! How can you be so cowardly? He is just threatening you, he won't kill these people at all—he needs all of them to use their opportunity! If he killed them, won't they all be frightened? Won't they run away?"

Sett sneered. "I won't kill any people here. There is a city close by, and murdering for fun quite a fun thing to do."

The Door screamed. "Heartless!"

Sett chuckled.

The Door knew how to ask questions that dug into a person's very soul—that was a talent of its. But Sett?

Sett was no amateur at playing with the human heart.

The Old Man was a moral person. He would gladly sacrifice himself for his goals, but he cannot sacrifice others for them.

That was the kind of person he was!

That became clear to Sett the moment he said he cannot kill a child even if he could travel into the past.

Then, Sett just had to use that information against him.

"Now, Door. Answer the question," Sett said eagerly.

The hand of the Door curled its fingers to form a unique expression of contemplation. Then, it pointed at Sett. "Brat, you win this time. You asked me how one can become the best in the world, and it is quite simple."

Everyone, including the commoners, listened carefully.

"When a person is so good at one thing, they become good at other things too. If you are a world class scientist, artist, or anything—by nature, you will also be good at many other things."

Sett frowned.

That was not how it worked.

No matter how good one was as an artist, how could they beat a T.Rex in a battle of physical strength?

He asked the question to the Door.

"I understand your doubt, brat. You are clever. Becoming a God is not simple—for it, you need to be the undeniable best in everything. And I truly mean everything. Physical strength included. If you do not have the strongest body in the world, you cannot become a God."

"How can I be the best at everything? That sounds… rather impossible."

"As I said, there is nothing impossible in this world. But as you said, becoming the best at one thing doesn't mean you will become the best at other things.

"Yet, there are some things out there, which if you are the best at, will make it easy for you to be best at everything else.

"If you are the best at three things—Physical, Mental, and Magical, then becoming the best at other things is a matter of ease.""

Sett's eyes lit up. "Ah, now I get it!"

If one had the strongest physical body in existence, that also meant one had the best memory, hand coordination, and eyesight. That was the foundation for a good artist.

Can a normal artist even come close to a superhuman in terms of drawing a good picture?

No.

A person with that good of a body would be able to naturally beat years of experience.

In one day, they would be able to become better than artists who studied the art for years!

Then, there was the mind and magical aspect.

If you had the best mind, you would be able to easily figure things out. How to draw better, what mistakes were limiting the art, and all such things would be easily analyzed!

And then came magic.

Axioms.

If one had an Axiom of Painting, for example, can someone else draw as good as them?

By birthright, they would be among the best artists in the world!

Sett's gaze became brighter and brighter.

Physical, Mental, and Magical!

If one became the undeniable best in those three categories, they could easily become the undeniable best in all other categories!

Now, Sett had another question.

Many questions, in fact.

Sett was a human being.

He was not a T.Rex or a Dragon.

His physical body would become much stronger by the time he reached Tier 5. But even then, it would not be as strong as legendary beasts at the same level as himself.

Humans were fundamentally weaker than those creatures, after all.

How can a human gain the best physical body?

And then Mental.

What even was the strongest mind?

How can a human achieve the strongest mind in the world?

And then there was Magical.

People were born with an Axiom.

For example, Sett had the Reincarnation Axiom.

That would help him become the best in the aspect that his Axiom was good at—Reincarnating.

His Axiom would never be the best at other things.

Healing?

Axiom of Healing would be much better at healing than Sett's Axiom.

Battles?

Many other Axioms were better at battles than Sett's own.

In any other category other than Reincarnation, there were bound to be other Axioms that were better than Sett's own.

Then, how can he become the best in the Magic category?

Body, Mind, and Magic.

How can he become the best at it all?

Sett didn't even know how to become the best in one of those.

In his past life, when he attempted Godhood, he had been a Tier 5 Axiom Holder and a Tier 5 Tomb Raider. He had vast amounts of Territory, and was one of the strongest people in the world. But even then, he had failed miserably!

This time, it will be different!

"How can a human gain a body stronger than a T.Rex? How can I get the strongest Mind and Magic?" Sett asked with a frown.

The Door harrumphed. "You asked one question, and I answered it already. If you want to ask another question, throw something else in."

Sett sighed and became contemplative.

At least, it was now clearer.

Becoming the best at everything sounded truly overwhelming and impossible. After all, there were far too many crafts in this world. Engineering, doctorate, law and order—how can one even hope to master all fields?

But if he had a mind that could calculate easily, a body that could learn and adapt easily, and magical abilities that bridged the gaps in his strengths—that impossibility could become a possibility.

Become the best at everything under the sun.

A God walking among mortals.

Sett's heart skipped a beat.

Now, he just needed some more guidance from this Door.

This is among my life's best opportunities! This Door didn't get as much credit as it should!

It was even better than he expected.

But what Sett didn't understand was that others didn't have so many chances to use the Door. Others only had one chance—and if they failed to answer three questions, they wouldn't even be able to ask the Door to make the impossible possible.

But he?

He had as many chances as he wanted.

That made the Door a true cheat!
