Multiverse Family System: Rise of the Charlotte Family

Chapter 30: Protein-Protein Fruit

---

Joey left with his younger siblings.

As for Jarul, he remained silent.

"…"

His entire demeanor was somber, muttering to himself, "A demon! A demon! That man is a terrifying demon. How could such a terrifying man exist? That man is as horrifying as a demon."

As these thoughts consumed him, Jarul shivered uncontrollably. For the first time, fear gripped him.

This was a man who had weathered over 300 years of trials, unafraid of even the most powerful elders of the Giant Tribe. Yet now, he was terrified.

However, Joey didn't care at all about Jarul's thoughts.

Aboard the ship:

"Opera, brother!"

"Counter, brother!"

"Cadenza, brother!"

"Cabaletta, brother!"

"Gala, brother!"

Custard, Angel, Brulée, and Broyé were all bustling around.

The four sisters were frantically tending to their five brothers, carefully treating their injuries and wrapping them in bandages. Every one of them was tense with worry.

Meanwhile, Joey sat cross-legged before his wounded brothers, looking at them calmly. He asked softly, "How are you all feeling?"

"It hurts!"

"It hurts!"

Opera's face twisted in pain, but he forced a smile that looked more like a grimace. Laughing heartily, he said, "Big brother! No problem at all, none whatsoever!"

"You all…"

Joey sighed helplessly. "Rest well. Fights like these are beneficial for you. The Oni Tribe's bodies are unique—they grow stronger through battle. I'll find suitable Devil Fruits for you. Don't worry, Cadenza, I've already tracked one down for you."

"Brrr~~~" "Brrr~~~"

Before Joey could finish, the family emblem suddenly emitted a ringtone.

To make things easier, Joey had modified the emblem's notification sound to mimic a Den Den Mushi.

Answering the call, Joey said directly, "Perospero, what's the matter?"

Perospero's voice came through, "Big brother! We've located the Devil Fruit on Phoenix Island. Our family members have secretly taken control of the island and are currently searching for it."

"Hm?"

Joey smiled and replied, "Understood. Take it easy and don't overexert yourselves."

Perospero assured him, "Big brother, don't worry!"

The call ended, and Joey chuckled lightly. "Well, it seems we've also found Gala's Devil Fruit. Now all that's left is Cabaletta's. Be patient."

Cabaletta shook his head. "Big brother, I'm not worried. If you say you'll find a Devil Fruit for me, then I know you will."

"Heh heh heh~~~"

Joey laughed. "You little brats, get some rest. This fight wasn't a setback for you—it was an opportunity. Reflect on the experience, understand your weaknesses. That's what truly matters. For the Ghost Tribe, every battle is a stepping stone to greater strength."

The five brothers obediently nodded.

Joey stood and returned to the cabin.

Broyé followed, peeking around the doorway before quietly asking, "Big brother! Can I study with you?"

Joey smiled. "If you like studying, then come in. You can learn whatever you want."

"Alright!"

Broyé ran in happily, sitting right beside Joey and hugging him. Curiously, she asked, "Big brother! Big brother! Why did Jarul refuse when we first asked for 5,000 giants, but later agree when we demanded 10,000?"

Joey patiently explained, "It's quite simple. At first, Jarul was unwilling to accept reality. But once I laid out the threats and benefits, he had no choice but to comply because I hold the Giant Tribe's fate in my hands."

"I see!"

Broyé nodded in understanding.

Joey observed her thoughtful expression.

With her cherry-pink hair, Broyé was a sharp and clever girl. She had a princess-like demeanor, complete with a bit of a spoiled attitude.

But for Joey, that wasn't a problem. Compared to Brulée, Broyé had an even greater gift—not in innate ability, but in her intelligence and resourcefulness.

Her sharp mind made her talents stand out.

After a moment's thought, Joey suddenly said, "Broyé, do you want to eat this Devil Fruit?"

As he spoke, he retrieved a Devil Fruit from the family emblem.

The family emblem, which Joey had upgraded with achievement points, now had additional functions beyond remote communication and identification. It also had spatial storage capabilities, with an internal space of 20 cubic meters. While not massive, it was more than enough for practical use.

"Ah?"

Broyé froze in shock.

For a moment, her small body trembled with excitement.

Joey treated his siblings equally—doting on them in daily life, strict during studies, and serious when teaching.

However, he only gave Devil Fruits to those siblings who were truly suited for them. Many of his brothers and sisters didn't have Devil Fruits—not because they couldn't eat them or due to a lack of availability, but because Joey carefully considered whether they could stand on their own.

If his siblings couldn't become independent, it was fine for them to remain at home and work in administrative roles. There was no need to push them into the limelight.

But now, Joey was offering a Devil Fruit to Broyé.

There was no need to guess what this meant.

Excitedly, Broyé nodded repeatedly. "I want it! I want it! Big brother, I want it!"

"Heh heh heh~~~"

Joey gently patted her head. "You excitable child! This Devil Fruit is a Paramecia-type, the Protein-Protein Fruit, belonging to the category of food-based fruits."
