Multiversal Manifestation System

Chapter 10: Chapter 10 - The first work - start!

"...Demon Slayer."

"Its short enough to have it done before the competition I hope... And there's plenty of great buttclenching and beautifully executed fights and some very sad moments aswell. The reactions should be great, and so should the SP I get."

"But before any of that, I need to order a new holo-watch." Wang Zi said as he looked at his standard one "Just the fact that I can't fulldive into the virtual world alone is enough to annoy me. I gotta see what the so-called V.B. looks like with my own eyes before the competition so nothing unexpected happens too."

His trusty holo-watch was already an advanced piece of tech, but it could only help him browse the world's information. But now, for this quest, he needed a way to fully immerse himself in that world, something much deeper than mere browsing.

"Imagine actually being next to the story's characters... Its something I could only dream of back on Earth! It has to be better than watching the screen right?" Wang Zi had high expectations.

After deciding to switch out for a better holo-watch, Wang Zi had the watch start up. And with the startup... Came an annoyance.

An annoyance in the form of a cute white haired fairy in a maid dress.

"Welcome back master! What can I help you with?"

'...I forgot about her. Even thought I asked the system to spare her.'

The flying fairy and the human stared at each other for a while - until Wang Zi gave up. 'Fine, its not like she's bad looking, it could be worse.'

"Do you have a name?" Wang Zi asked.

"Of course! This one is called Hua'er master! How could you forget! wooo..."

"Sigh, I didn't forget I was just checking for any malfuctions you might have!" 'Obviously'.

"Oh, oh! Then what can I do for you master?" The little fairy's face switched faster than a book, from almost crying to a puppy's smile.

"I need a replacement holo-watch, this one can't do what I need it to do. Find a list of some for me."

At Wang Zi's request, Hua'er's face changed into a strange one. "Host, as the system's assistant I should inform you that your holo-watch has been upgraded to have the most cutting edge technology in the current human empire. Its even possible for it to go beyond that! So there's no need for a new holo-watch. The system maintained the old look just for appearance's sake!"

"Oh, you know about the system? I guess the takeover did leave you alone!" Wang Zi smiled at this. He would rather have this little maid fairy he was already used to than something different after all.

"I guess its better this way. Then let's get to work." Wang Zi murmured.

He immediately connected to the V.B.'s virtual network. His goal for now - to understand what the people of the future read, how stories were told, and how they resonated with the masses.

Wang Zi took a deep breath and adjusted his newly upgraded watch, now fully immersed in the Virtual World. The moment he activated the dive, he felt a pull on his soul, just like when he first awakened. Except this time, when he came to, he saw a city.

It felt real. The air, the sounds, the bustling of people, all of it was tangible. He was standing in the middle of a futuristic city, complete with high-rise buildings, neon-lit streets, and even hovering vehicles gliding overhead. He could hear chatting, the sound of footsteps, and the occasional street vendor's call, all creating the atmosphere of a bustling city.

"This is so cool..." a fully functional simulated city where people lived, worked, and relaxed. There were homes, stores, entertainment centers, and even parks where virtual residents gathered. It was a place of constant activity, a blend of entertainment, commerce, and leisure.

"Insane." Wang Zi marveled, taking in the vastness of it all. He had barely scratched the surface, and already the depth of the virtual world was more than he could have imagined.

"It's actually very similar to how we imagined it back then. That's good, should make it easier for me." Wang Zi thought.

Wang Zi made his way down the streets, the glow of neon signs lighting up his path. He passed by various holographic billboards showcasing the latest virtual reality games, music albums, and high-tech gadgets. Finally, he spotted a bookstore on the corner of the street, with a modern structure and sleek glass windows displaying shelves filled with floating digital books.

With a small hint of anticipation, Wang Zi stepped inside.

The store was massive. spanning several floors, filled with rows and rows of virtual books floating in midair. Customers wandered between the shelves, occasionally reaching out to select a book and browse its contents, while soft, ambient music played in the background. There was even a bar in the corner for customers who wanted to relax with a drink or a cup of coffee while browsing their selections.

'Yup, this looks about right. I thought there would be like a menu you could just browse off of, but I guess some people like the feeling of just sitting down and reading.'

Wang Zi approached a nearby shelf, his fingers gently brushing through the digital books that flickered as he passed them. He saw books and comics of all kinds - action, adventure, romance, fantasy... But as he browsed, he noticed something unsettling: the same pattern repeated itself over and over again. Every book seemed to fall into the same tired formula.

"Hmm... Don't tell me this is all copy pasted stuff?" Wang Zi was hoping it was. It would make his job easier. He didn't believe the stories from so long ago would still be around today. His works would be an instant hit.

Wang Zi picked up one of the action comics, skimming its summary. It was about a young, underdog soldier who fought in an endless war against an evil empire. The plot was all too familiar - he'd seen countless variations of this before, and the same story had been told a thousand times.

The protagonist was destined to defeat the enemies, claim victory, and somehow win the heart of a beautiful woman in the process.

"Really huh." Wang Zi muttered, feeling is guess was right.

He flipped through another one - this time, a romance. Again, the summary was uninspiring: a story about a young woman who was torn between two men, one a handsome rich heir and the other a poor, humble artist. After several rounds of misunderstandings and dramatic tension, the story ended with the woman choosing the artist. The plot didn't even surprise him - it was exactly the same as the romance books he had seen in other sections.

"Boring." Wang Zi sighed, rolling his eyes, "That's good though." He thought, his smile stretching into a grin.

Every single romance or action comic or novel he came across was nearly identical to the last. All of them were shallow, repetitive, and followed the same tropes and structures. The protagonist fights a battle, defeats the enemy, and wins the heart of the love interest - it was all too much of the same.

"Human hero, human beauty, fierce looking bad guys. Protagonist protected by plot armor, sudden power-ups with no foreshadowing whatsoever, abilities the protagonist takes out of his ass and just happen to be super-powerful. All the cliches are here huh."

He moved through several more aisles, picking up books and scanning their synopses. The war stories were all about epic battles, survival against impossible odds, and, of course, the obligatory romantic subplot. Even the mystery novels had been watered down into cookie-cutter versions of one another, all focusing on predictable crime-solving with overly dramatic twists.

"Aside from the new races which I've never heard of, and the fact that for some reason nobody writes about the past, everything is the same..."

"Is this all they read now?" Wang Zi muttered under his breath. The future's literary landscape had become a dull and uninspired place, dominated by recycled stories seemingly copy pasted with a little difference here and there, likely to avoid conflicts.

A story like Demon Slayer - fresh, emotional, and unique in its execution. It was different, with rich characters, and themes of family, sacrifice, and humanity AND set in the past. "Its perfect. Nothing even comes close to the theme in all I've read so far. I hope these kinds of stores are linked and their catalog isn't something unique in the V.B."

"If they are... then this is going to be easier than I thought." Wang Zi was relieved. It seemed the system quest wasn't so hard after all.

Wang Zi then walked over to a quiet corner of the bookstore and accessed the system interface.

"System?"

"Yes master!" a little white fairy showed up though, making Wang Zi frown.

"Why is it you again?"

"Master unless its for something important, I'll handle everything related to the system. I have access to most of its functions!" The fairy beamed.

"Oh. Fine, can you check if this bookstore is linked to others? Are the books they have unique or not?"

"Yes master, it is linked to other stores of the same brand. Books aren't very prized collections in this era."

Wang Zi was very happy with this answer, "Very good."

"System, let's recreate Demon Slayer from my memory and make it into a book." He said, already picturing the characters, the world, and the story in his mind. "For an immersive anime, I'll do it following the manga, it would make it easier for me I think."

The system's voice responded promptly. "Affirmative, Host. Beginning the recreation process. Scanning Host's memories for relevant information..."

Wang Zi felt a subtle wave of energy ripple through him as the system accessed his recollection of Demon Slayer - the world of Kamado Tanjiro, the demon-slaying journey, and the Tanjiro's struggle against demons to save his sister, Nezuko.

As the system worked, he could see the drawings come to life, characters like Zenitsu and Inosuke, Kanao and the Hashira all finding their way into the book. Into this timeline.

Wang Zi watched as the pages of the virtual book began to fill with the familiar scenes from Demon Slayer, drawn as he remembered them.

He felt slightly sad at some scenes, particularly Rengoku's death. But he didn't plan to change it. It was part of what made Demon Slayer so good.

As the descriptions, dialogues, and character moments were written with his perspective, and as he read through the draft, he felt a sense of satisfaction.

"This is it. Get ready to feel what I felt back then, people of the future!" Wang Zi smiled to himself.

"DING!"

"Scanning complete. Task finished."

"Great! That was really quick. I guess [Ultra-Mind] plays more of a role than i thought it would, as expected of a system talent!"

"Now I need to find a way to get this to people..." Wang Zi said, holding his freshly developed Demon Slayer manga.

Unfortunately for him, the Virtual Brain's marketplace was crowded with millions of works, most of them following the same tired formulas. His manga was different but it was buried under the bland and repetitive works that dominated the virtual landscape.

Frustrated, Wang Zi thought for a moment, then looked down at his system interface. Maybe there was something more he could do.

"System." He asked, pulling up the interface and asking in a low voice, "What's the best way to get people to notice my manga?"

The system's little assistant, Hua'er, responded immediately. "Master, most young people in the future are more inclined to watch content that matches their interests. For the boys, they tend to enjoy action-packed battle sequences or intense fights in the V.B's Colosseum. These are popular virtual reality events that draw crowds.

As for girls, even thought a vast majority of them also watch fights, some do prefer romantic anime - sweet, emotional, and often revolving around heartwarming relationships, with a dash of drama. Based on my analysis, it seems both groups are focused on either intense battles or romance."

Wang Zi frowned, chewing his lip. "Right... But my manga doesn't exactly fit either of those. Maybe a BIT of romance but that's it." He paused for a moment, thinking. "But maybe I don't have to stick to just the bookstore. There has to be another way to get my work out there..."

As the system began loading its next analysis, Wang Zi's mind raced. He suddenly had an idea.

"Wait. What about streaming? Is that still a thing?" Wang Zi asked Hua'er. He had heard of some famous streamers back in his time, and they had huge followings.

If streaming was still a thing even now, maybe watch parties, where they'd invite their audiences to enjoy anime marathons or VR content were also still a thing?

"Hua'er, do streamers exist here? You can scan my memory if you don't know what I'm referring to."

"Yes master, there's streamers and they're quite popular too.

Many of them have massive followings, and some of these streamers are even known for creating their own community-driven content."

Wang Zi let out a breath, "Great! That's probably my best bet for quickly spreading the manga. If one of the most popular streamers likes it, its bound to get some traction.

Alright, Hua'er, scan the top streamers, both female and male. Select one from each gender with the highest chance of reading my first work. They don't have to be first in the ranking, but they have to already have a good following."

"Yes master. Based on your criteria, Lara "Feifei" and Alexander Nedeir are the best options."

"Nice. Open up their streams and let me see what they're capable of. If everything seems good, they'll be my choices." Wang Zi said.
