Mountain Sitting Immortal

Chapter 128: Karma + Money.

The two buildings are two stories tall. There is a street between them. Carriages travel across this street with sine stopping briefly.

Most of the carriages stopped in front of the bar because the bar is the main entry to the fighting ring below. The side entries are hidden and not well known. Only the workers of the fighting pit should know about it.

According to his unwilling informant, The Scarred Raven is supposed to escort a shipment of slaves to this location today. It has to be this exit because it is the biggest.

The other exits are not large enough to allow the large cages to pass through them. So the Scarred Raven must drop by this location and get his payment before leaving.

Arthur has a lot of information about what is going to happen tonight. What he doesn't know is the specific time that it will happen. So he had to wait patiently throughout the night.

He was lying down on the roof so that the figure wouldn't be seen from afar. He also stood still. Only his head and eyes were moving in the darkness as he tracked the movements of the carriages.

It was a little chilly. It was also windy. Fortunately, he had his coat on, which protected him from the cold. Your adventure continues at My Virtual Library Empire

He lay there on the bed for three hours. During that time, a lot of people came and went. But no one stopped in front of the exit he was watching.

He was doubting the authenticity of the information he acquired when a carriage finally showed up.

The carriage stopped in front of the building he was stalking. Then several covered wagons arrived after it.

As soon as this occurred, many workers came out of the building to meet the people of the carriage. The two sides met and spoke for a while. Then they began to unload the target.

He looked left and right, but he didn't see someone with a scar. The low light of the lamps also didn't help. But he was sure that he would recognize Irvin once he saw his full form.

"Where the hell is that son of a bitch?"

He didn't move because he didn't see Irvin. He was getting anxious, but he reminded himself to be patient.

He had already killed a lot of Irvin's friends and acquaintances, which is probably why Irvin got scared away. If he comes out and attacks now, it will confirm Irvin's fears that someone is after him.

So he was calm. He decided to wait for two hours more.

He watched as cages full of shackled boys were unloaded from the carriages and carried into the building. He felt some pity for them, but it wasn't enough for him to help them and blow his cover.

However, he did promise to return to save them. That way he will be able to earn some karma tonight.

Of course, he also plans to rob the fighting ring. He has high hopes to earn a lot of money from them, seeing as they also run a gambling service.

All of these thoughts kept him company while he waited. Nothing changed until thirty minutes later.

Thirty minutes after the carriages had begun to unload, the workers were done unloading the cages. Then their bosses came out to meet and exchange money.

The boss of the fighting ring is someone he doesn't recognize. But the boss of the people who brought the carriages is someone he recognizes. In fact, it is the person he has been looking for.

The Scarred Raven was dressed in a cloak, but Arthur could recognize him because he was always looking around in suspicion. His actions caused the light of the lamp beside him to fall on his face.

He was able to see Irvin's face and identify him without a doubt. The next issue was deciding what to do next.

Getting down to accost the man right now. is a bad idea because he will be besieged by everyone at the scene if he appears. The best solution is to corner Irvin.

Unfortunately, if he doesn't take his shot right now, he might lose Irvin. If he loses Irvin, then it will be difficult to find him in the future.

He thought about it and decided not to be rash. He wants revenge, but it is not enough to put his life in danger.

He is not afraid of them individually, but it is difficult to say what will happen once they gang up on him. He has to be careful, or he might actually lose his life.

He thought to himself with regret, "It is a pity that I couldn't bring my giant sword."

He didn't want to bring his giant sword because it is easily identifiable. If seen, it will link him to what he has been doing recently.

There is also the fact that it is difficult to run with that giant thing strapped to his back. It is a heavy piece of weaponry that will hold him back in his attempt to be secretive.

After making up his mind, he went to the other side of the roof and began to climb down the building.

The location he chose to descend is behind the building he is standing on. It is away from the street, so he can descend without being seen.

When he reached the ground, he crouched and moved silently towards the front of the building where the carriages are. He moved silently so as not to alarm his targets or anyone around.

This is a movement that he wouldn't be able to do with a giant sword strapped to his back. He learned that lesson on his first night when the scabbard of the giant sword was making noise as he dragged it across the ground.

He stopped by the fence and climbed it a little to see what was going on on the other side of the street. Only the top of his head and eyes poked over the fence, so it wasn't easy to spot him.
