Midnight Prince: Empire of Sin

Chapter 465: MY EX CAN'T BE THIS CRAZY (2)

Tsubasa continued to approach him slowly, step by step but Adam though, simply ignored her and looked at the spider that had died just now.

His eyes twitched a little as he finally made the connection. Connection to the mystery that had been plaguing him endlessly in recent times as well as another aspect of Tsubasa…

"I guess Ghost Spider is really a fitting name."

"Hehehe, I know right?"

She smiled, looking like nothing more than a young girl happy to be praised by her crush.

"People rarely pay attention to bugs and insects as long as they don't bother them much. Furthermore, when I use my powers on them, unless I try to open a portal there is no fluctuation of Prana in the surroundings so there is no way to spot them essentially. For all purposes, they are nothing but ordinary spiders. But still, they have some extraordinary uses, as you might have already surmised…"

She proudly explained her powers to him not worrying about Adam blocking her off and he had to admit…

This power was indeed a cheat.

Adam's main power [The World] gave him the equivalent of near omniscience inside his domain. The only problem was that his mind was unable to process all the information sent to his brain in real-time due to the limitations of his own body and Prana.

In fact, he had to consciously limit the flow of information by setting some standards and rules, filtering out the things that he needed from the things he didn't. This was how he captured the people after Fedora. Back then he had set the rule as not noticing anything below Bronze rank.

Even then these rules had only become possible because of the recent strengthening of his soul.

"So you can see through all spiders?"

"Yep. In a certain radius, all spiders are my eyes and ears as well as possible portals. Though I have to focus on them to be able to be able to register what they are seeing and hearing."

Listening to Tsubasa, Adam realized that she was facing the same problem as he was and probably dealt with it in very much the same way he had with his domain.

"So. How do you limit the influx of information?"

"Hum… I don't really need to do that though…?"

She tilted her head as she placed a finger on her chin, "Outside of missions, I only focus on spiders that are in your surroundings."

"Huh…"

Adam stopped in his tracks. His four minds nearly crashed but he had to ask again just to be sure,

"What did you say?"

"I only look at you. Only focus on you. Even in missions, I only allocate a small part of my resources to find them. Why would I care about anything else? Is there anything wrong with that?"

She smiled and seemed genuinely confused about the confusion he was feeling in his mind and soul.

"We have broken up nearly 6 years ago."

"I know. It was a sad event. But I understood that it was necessary. My mother was creating some troubles."

"So…. You have been observing me for…"

"All those years."

She beamed and took one last step before standing right next to him. Her eyes were shining quietly with a purplish hue, her expression seemed to be in a trance as she breathed in deeply.

"All those years. For nearly 6 years. More precisely for 2050 days and 18 hours, I have been observing you. Following you. Protecting you. Admiring you…"

The more she spoke the happier she seemed to be, "I have seen your tears when we broke up. Your joy when you graduated school. Your frustration when you studied, your pride when you reached the top of your class. I was happy to observe from afar. Making sure that you will live well. But then something unexpected happened."

Desolation filled her voice as her voice grew hollow, as though she had lost her soul… "You died."

She caught him by the arms, her own arms shivering violently as if she were witnessing the greatest horror in the world,

"You died. You had barely left my vision for a few minutes and you died. Your cold corpse, your blood flowing from your chest. I was scared, I was horrified, I felt like the world was ending, my light was all but lost, and life had no more meaning. I could not believe it and I was ready to follow you on your journey to the afterlife if it was necessary."

She trembled like a frightened child who had lost her last shelter. Her trembling only grew worse with time as she hugged him tightly against her chest.

"But you didn't die."

She looked up at him, her eyes filled with joy.

"You didn't die. I came through the portal, ready to take your body away. But under my eyes, I could see your body slowly healing. I didn't understand what was happening but finally, I realized… Hah… He is alive. I called the ambulance, waited until everything was alright, and left the scene."

"So you were the one…"

"After this, I witnessed many more things. Death. Death. Death. Death. Even more Death. I would have been happy to simply observe you all along had your life been normal. But I knew I could not continue like this. So I trained again, and I grew stronger again. I grew… to protect you…"

Her eyes seemed lost when she looked at him, like a puppy begging for attention, wishing for praise and care.

For Adam, honestly… Nothing but goosebumps covered his skin as even his soul shivered in fright at seeing the scene before him.

Tsubasa had essentially admitted to stalking him for half a decade and would have continued to do so in the shadows had things not changed and he had not awakened to his true nature.

She also admitted deciding to kill herself should anything really happen to him.

Hesitation took him briefly but Adam finally used the [Eyes of Truth] on her and oh dear lord was it a sight like no other…

[What in the Nine Hells and Eternal Hallways of Nothingness is she…!?]

Even the ever-impassive Genesis cursed out loud when it witnessed the scene before him.

Adam had seen Natasha's elder sister and thought he had seen the emotion with the most pink colors possible.

He realized he was wrong.

Pink. Pink. Pink. It was so much pink that it seemed like it was filling the entire forest and perhaps even the entire world. It was so blinding that he almost had to turn off the power since he thought he was about to go blind.

Sticky, heavy, emotions coiling all around her and reached toward him, wishing to entangle him forever.

Calling it love would be a disservice to the emotions she felt for him. This was an obsession in the purest sense of the world.

Adam breathed in…

If he was a normal person. The thing he would do would be to flee from this place in terror and immediately call the cops or the Psychiatrists.

But now….

"I am happy to see you."

Adam smiled. His smile seemed forced at first but in the blink of an eye, it became smooth and perfect without a hint of the fear he felt within…

"Do you love me?"

He asked her with a smile,

n/-O1n

"I do."

"Would you do everything for me?"

"Everything."

"Even if I ask for your family?"

"Even if you ask for my life."

"Then… Work for me. I need you."

He cupped her face and brought his lips to hers, gently kissing her with tenderness.

"Ahh…"

Adam knew at this very moment…

If he was ever going to die with this curse of his, Hell would have a special place reserved just for him.

But there was no way he was going to reject a perfectly devoted and powerful servant landing on his lap out of her free will.

— No matter how crazy and out of the pocket she was.

(AN: Hahah. Hope I managed to bring out the insanity and unbalanced mind of Tsubasa well. Tsubasa is not really a yandere. At least not the kind like Yuno gasai. Yandere are inherently selfish as their love is more important than even the well being of the person they say they love. Which is why they can harm them. Tsubasa as she is now would never hurt Adam.)
