Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The First Test
**Chapter 3: The First Test**
Luffy stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his UA Academy uniform. The crisp white shirt and dark blue blazer felt strange on him, but he didn't have time to dwell on it. He glanced at the clock on the wall and his eyes widened. "Crap! I overslept on such an important day!" he yelled, grabbing his bag and bolting out the door.
The halls of UA Academy were eerily quiet, the only sound being the echo of his footsteps as he sprinted down the empty corridors. His black hair bounced with each step, and his dark eyes darted around, searching for his classroom. Finally, he skidded to a stop in front of a massive door with a sign that read **1-A**. "Why is this door so huge?" he muttered, pushing it open with a loud creak.
To his surprise, the classroom was completely empty. No students, no teacher—just rows of desks and the faint hum of the air conditioner. Luffy scratched his head, confusion written all over his face. "What's going on here?" he said aloud, stepping back into the hallway.
He wandered down the corridor, peeking through the glass windows that overlooked the school grounds. Outside, he saw a group of students in UA's gym uniforms, gathered in the courtyard and performing various exercises. His eyes landed on a familiar figure with green hair, nervously jotting down notes in a small notebook. "That's Deku!" Luffy exclaimed under his breath. "If he's out there, then that must be my class!"
Just as he was about to head outside, a voice spoke up behind him. "Are you looking for Class 1-A?"
Luffy spun around to find Principal Nezu, the small, mouse-like creature with a calm and calculating demeanor, standing there with a polite smile. "You're part of Aizawa's class, correct? They've already begun the annual Quirk Apprehension Tests."
"Quirk Apprehension Tests?" Luffy asked, tilting his head.
Nezu nodded. "Every year, the students undergo eight physical tests to gauge their abilities. The student who ranks last is expelled. Aizawa is the only teacher with the authority to do this, and I've personally granted him permission." *Of course,* Nezu thought to himself, *the expulsion is only temporary, but it's better if you don't know that yet. It would ruin Aizawa's fun.*
Luffy's eyes widened. "Expelled? On the first day? I've gotta get out there and join them!"
Nezu gestured down the hall. "By all means, hurry. But first, head to the locker rooms. They're in the basement, male wing. Change into your gym uniform and meet them on the field." As Luffy started to run off, Nezu called after him, "Aizawa is very strict. Do your best."
Luffy dashed down the stairs, his heart pounding. He found the locker room and quickly located his assigned locker, which had his name neatly printed on it. He tossed his school bag inside, stripped off his uniform, and pulled on the UA gym clothes. The red and white outfit fit him perfectly, and he couldn't help but grin. "This uniform's not bad. It suits me!"
He sprinted back outside, his black hair whipping in the wind as he approached the group of students. They were in the middle of a grip strength test, and all eyes turned to him as he arrived. A red-haired boy with sharp teeth—Kirishima—stepped forward with a friendly smile. "You're the missing student, right? Luffy?"
Luffy grinned back, his confidence shining through. "I'm Monkey D. Luffy, the man who's gonna be the King of the—" He caught himself just in time. "Uh, I mean, the number one hero! Yeah, I'm gonna be the strongest hero in history!"
The class stared at him in stunned silence. This guy had just shown up late, and now he was spouting bold declarations like it was nothing. But their awe quickly turned to skepticism as Aizawa, their homeroom teacher, stepped forward. His tired eyes bore into Luffy, and his voice was cold and unamused. "You're spouting nonsense after showing up half an hour late? Do you know how many lives can be lost in half an hour? What kind of 'great hero' do you think you're going to be?"
Luffy blinked, caught off guard by the harsh criticism. *This guy's my teacher?* he thought, his confidence wavering for the first time.
Aizawa continued, his tone sharp. "Three tests have already been completed, and you've scored zero in all of them. Since you're the 'greatest hero,' I expect you to make up for the gap in the remaining tests. These are the consequences of a hero being late to the scene."
He tossed a grip strength meter to Luffy, who caught it clumsily. The other students watched intently, curious to see how this bold newcomer would perform. Todoroki's expression was unreadable, but his thoughts were calculating. *He talks big, but can he back it up?* Deku, ever the analyst, was already muttering under his breath, analyzing Luffy's potential. Bakugo, on the other hand, looked downright annoyed. "This guy's all talk," he muttered.
Luffy gripped the device tightly, his rubbery fingers squishing against the metal. The meter made a strange, squishy sound, and the screen displayed a measly **15**. The class erupted in murmurs of disbelief.
"That's it?!" Mineta exclaimed, leaning in closer to the meter. "He's even weaker than me! That's the lowest score in the class!"
The students exchanged glances, their earlier curiosity replaced with disappointment. Luffy's bold words now seemed laughable in the face of his underwhelming performance. Aizawa's cold gaze didn't waver. "That's enough. Move on to the next test."
Luffy's heart sank as he handed the device back. *I'm such an idiot,* he thought, his shoulders slumping. *Rubber isn't inherently strong. It took Luffy years of training to master his powers…* He clenched his fists, his dark eyes filled with frustration. *Am I going to get expelled on my first day?*
