Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Beginning of a New Reality

**Chapter 2: The Beginning of a New Reality**

The boy—no, *Luffy*—stood at the edge of the water, his black hair damp and clinging to his forehead. His dark eyes narrowed as he stared at the waves, his mind racing. He dipped his hand into the ocean, watching the water ripple around his fingers. "If this is a dream," he muttered, "it's way too realistic."

He stepped back onto the shore, his thoughts swirling like the tide. "My power is Luffy's power," he said aloud, as if testing the words. "But I can swim. That means it's not exactly like the Devil Fruit. It's more like… a Quirk in this world." He scratched his chin, his expression thoughtful. "But what about the awakening? Is that even possible here?" He glanced around, half-expecting the holographic system to appear and answer his questions. But the screen was gone, leaving him with nothing but the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun.

As he walked back to the beach, his black hair glistening in the sunlight, he couldn't shake the feeling that this was more than just a dream. The sand beneath his feet, the salty breeze, the laughter of the people around him—it all felt too real. He clenched his fists, trying to steady his thoughts.

"Luffy! What are you doing?" a voice called out, snapping him out of his reverie.

Luffy turned his head, his dark eyes scanning the crowd until they landed on a young man who looked strikingly similar to him, though a few years older. The guy was wearing a casual shirt and shorts, and beside him stood a little girl with jet-black hair and matching dark eyes. She couldn't have been more than seven years old.

The girl grinned up at him. "Onii-chan, you're the one who said we had to go back early today. It's not fair that you get to swim for extra time!"

Luffy blinked, his mind struggling to catch up. Before he could respond, the familiar holographic screen appeared in front of him, displaying two profiles:

**Name: Monkey D. Himawari**

**Age: 7**

**Hobbies: Drawing, collecting seashells, and following her big brother around.**

**Relation: Younger Sister**

**Name: Monkey D. Hikari**

**Age: 20**

**Hobbies: Studying marine biology, playing the guitar, and mentoring his siblings.**

**Relation: Older Brother**

Luffy stared at the screen, then back at the two figures in front of him. "Wait… so I didn't die?" he muttered under his breath. "Does this mean… this is my new life? In the world of UA Academy? All I know is that green-haired guy, Deku, from those short videos on social media. I don't know anything about this world! I should've watched more!"

He scratched the back of his head and laughed awkwardly. "I thought it'd be nice to cool off before we left."

Hikari sighed, shaking his head, while Himawari giggled. "As expected from my brother," she said, "the number one idiot in the family."

Luffy's eyes widened, and he looked up at the sky, his black hair swaying in the breeze. *Wait a minute,* he thought, *are they saying the system chose me just because I'm an idiot? That's kind of hurtful, you know. Sure, my grades in math and physics are all F's, but a piece of paper can't measure how smart I am!* He didn't say it out loud, though. Instead, he just grinned sheepishly.

Himawari laughed, and Hikari rolled his eyes, gesturing for them to follow. They made their way to the family car, and Luffy slid into the back seat. As he settled in, he glanced at the rearview mirror and froze. The man driving the car looked exactly like Monkey D. Dragon—but in a casual summer outfit.

Luffy burst out laughing. "He really does look like him! It's Dragon for real!"

Dragon—or rather, his father in this world—turned his calm, piercing eyes toward Luffy. "Huh? Are you making fun on you dad?"

Himawari looked worried, while Hikari stepped out of the car to grab something from the trunk. Luffy noticed a gentle green breeze ruffling his hair, and his eyes widened as he caught the faint look of anger on his father's face. "I-I was just joking! Don't take it seriously!"

Dragon's expression softened, and he chuckled. "Ah! It's just a joke!? Haha!"

The three siblings sighed in unison, and the car began its journey home. As they drove, Himawari spoke up, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "So, tomorrow's your first day at UA Academy, huh? I'm going to feel a little lonely at home by myself."

"UA Academy?" Luffy asked, tilting his head.

Hikari glanced at him from the passenger seat. "Did you swim too much or something? Tomorrow, you start at UA Academy for Heroes. You passed the entrance exam three weeks ago."

Luffy's eyes widened, and a look of realization crossed his face. "UA Academy for Heroes?"

The car fell silent for a moment, the weight of the words sinking in. Luffy leaned back in his seat, his dark eyes staring out the window as the scenery blurred past. "So… this is really happening," he murmured to himself. "A new life, a new world, and a new adventure."

As the car carried them home, Luffy couldn't help but smile. Whatever this world had in store for him, he was ready to face it head-on. After all, he was Monkey D. Luffy—and this was just the beginning.
