Chapter 5: 5
I wrote this chapter while I was really tired, try not to take this seriously. Think of it as a small introduction to his Vigilante name and suit, though his personality at night will be different to what you see here.
--------------------
"- Heroes these days are all about showing off and catching flashy villain. Things were different before quirks, service is what mattered. Back then, heroes were those who helped the community, even if it was kind of boring."
A tall muscular man, with yellow turkey hair preached.
"You'll restore this section of the beach young man, this will be the first step on your way to becoming a hero!"
*Gasp*
A small, Humanoid broccoli franticly looks around, overwhelmed by the daunting task ahead of him.
"All this? But their is so much!"
"HA! That's what she said!"
The two people, Izuku Midoriya and All Might, quickly turn their heads to the left, suprised by the sudden yell.
"A little higher" the voice says, amusement leaking into its tone.
They look over the metal trash pile and spot a figure in a red and black full body tactical suit with a dim white light where it's eyes eyes should be, two slim but dangerous looking swords on its back, one of them a deep black, the other a deep red, but both giving off a intimidating aura.
The three look at each for a few moments, the suited person lying on his side, atop the metal, holding his head. That person was obviously me, haha.
"Ah, paternal love. Teaching your son some good morals there, people really have lost their ways these days, why I remember the heroes were those firing guns, spraying water from a fire house or having failed handwriting in literacy."
"Hey hold on there, wait a moment-" All Might splutters.
"Yeah, yeah. All Might isn't my dad."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah"
"So this tall man with immense strength to crush metal weighing tons, is alone on a beach with a little boy looking as stringy as the noodles I eat, without any supervision...and no possible chance of escape?"
I put a finger to my chin, looking at all the metal leaving very few avenues to escape, as All Might suddenly pales, realising how this could look to outsiders.
"~Naughty ~Naughty"
"WAIT! IT'S NOT LIKE THAT! He's just training me!"
*Flashback to the area that All Might was taking pictures off moments ago*
I turn to the reader with a shrug.
"This folks is what we call an innuendo."
Turning back to the two confused people shaking uncomfortably, All Might getting more pale by the second, I suddenly stand up and jump off of the metal block, landing perfectly on the ground with the grace of a cat.
"I'm messing with you. It's broad daylight, and people still pass by this beach on the way to Merchant Square, you'd be an idiot to try anything here."
All Might visibly relaxes, relief crossing his face, happy that the misunderstanding had been cleared up, before tensing again, looking at the swords on the my back.
"And who are you, good sir?"
"My name is deadpool, your friendly neighbourhood, fourth wall breaking, Vigi- *cough* fighting enthusiast."
Black lines covered All Might forehead, he could of sworn the man was about to say Vigilante.
"Fighting? Like hero work? Are you a hero, what's your name, what's your quirk, how does it work, and why does your suit look like that?"
The line! The line! I can say the line!
"Oh, this? This is so bad guy's can't see me bleed."
Placing my hands on my hips and head turned to the side, I strike the pose of justice. I bet I look really cool right now.
"Are you a Vigilante, sir? Vigilantism is against the law, and a crime."
"So is getting small children to do your community service. It's called child labour!"
"..."
"..."
"You are under arrest."
"On what crime? You have neither a confession nor evidence. For all you know this mass could be covering a nightmarish face that would traumatise you if revealed!"
"What do you want?"
"I just wanted to know something important, it could very well be a matter of life and death."
I say this in such a serious tone that both of them tense up, All Might putting on a serious expression.
"If it's a matter of life and death, then I shall answer your question honestly."
"Does this suit make me look fat?"
All Might: "..."
Izuku: "..."
Me: ^o^
The spider on the steel: (^_-)
"Come quietly and we can maybe lessen your sentence depending on the level of your-"
"SMOKE BOMB"
Suddenly a few smoke grenades drop from my belt, hiding me as I quickly make my retreat.
"STOP RIGHT THERE! You can't esc-"
*cough* *cough*
All Might and Izuku cough and try not to puke, the smoke seeming to let out a terrible odour that would make anyone want to vomit.
"Ew! What is this smell?!" Izuku cries, having got the biggest wiff of it.
"Oops! Looks like I dropped the fart bombs instead! Hahaha!"
I yell behind me as I run away, laughing my head off.
10 minutes later
Taking the suit out of the bag that I'd left in an alley near the beach to change in, I hang it inside my closet, sliding the door shut and sit on my sofa.
"That was funny, but stupid. If All Might didn't have to worry about Izuku, and wasn't wary of my swords, I'd have been placed under arrest, and I havn't even done anything yet."
At the very least, I tested the effects of the swords, and after seeing All Might's reaction I'd say that the effects are genuine, but I did notice something strange.
Although Izuku is much weaker and less experienced in combat than me, and although he was shaking, he didn't fall to his knees as the milestone reward said he should.
The only conclusion that I can come to is that mental strength is also a factor. He genuinely wants to become a hero and doesn't want to look bad in front of his idol. If the pressure of me with my swords could make him kneel, then he would have given up ages ago with the amount of pain that he's gone through because Bakugo and his goons, not to mention how this society reacts the quirkless.
The beating alone should have sent the kid to hospital, never mind the constant beatings. How is his body not broken? He doesn't have a healing factor!
"Well, it doesn't matter, I won't be fighting with or against him so I don't really have to care. From what the plot says, he'll do fine."
Taking out my phone, I navigate the U.A website and start writing my application to the school's support course.
"I wonder what their reaction will be to all the stuff I can make."
Hmm, I might be put on a watch list if I create anything too amazing, so I should make something good enough to get recognition from all the staff, but not good enough to get me target. At least until I actually get into the school, I still have to past the practical exam to get in.
The support course might not have high requirements for your combat abilities, other at least having the basic ability to defend yourself, but it does require exceptional creation abilities. Even the quirkless can get in this course, but if they don't have the skills to back up, or the intelligence to make their own proposed projects, then it is useless. You arn't good enough to get in.
The teacher's will give you guidence, offering advice here and there, propose ideas and give you the resources and experience in a controlled environment, but they will not hold your hand through it all.
This is U.A, where the most gifted people come together to go froorm being exceptional to legends in their fields. Incompetence won't be tolerated, especially in a subject where one wrong move will get you and everyone else in the room blown up.
"So what should I make for the exam? I need to send what I want to make before sending the application so they can gather the materials that I'll need."
...
"Ah, I've got it! Hero's always enter danger, but they don't all have a danger sense skill like those few sensor type heroes. This means that entering any situation becomes even more dangerous for them than it would be for the sensors, could even walk into an ambush trying to rescue someone.
So let's make Danger Detection Device!"
Yes, the more that I think about it, the more it feels right. It's something simple but also something that no one has ever thought about making.
Its something that would be difficult to make for someone normal, considering it would not only need to search for traps and explosives, but also detect malicious intent.
All that being said, with my Tynker-Tynker ability, this should be easy. I should also add a measuring system to detect the level of danger instead of just sending a signal to say that you are at risk.
Yes,this is shaping up to be a brilliant idea. With this in mind I fill out my application, note down my project idea, along with the materials I think that I'll need which might not already be available at U.A and send it in.
Getting the confirmation message, I sit back on the sofa with a content smile.
"This should be interesting."
