MHA: Zack's Path

Chapter 1: 1

Waking up in darkness seemed fitting to me somehow, having been betrayed by my closest comrades, I wasn't all there.

Part of me still didn't want to believe it. We had shared drinks together, told stories together, laughed and cried together.

So why? WHY DID THEY DO THIS?

Was it the money? The fame? The glory?

I didn't even care about that, all I wanted was to see everyone smile, I only wanted everyone to be safe. I sacrificed a leg to protect my people and an arm to protect my comrades. I thought we were friends!

Curling up into a ball, hugging my knees close to my chest, I let out a mournful cry, not even bothering to question the new situation that I found myself in.

Honestly, staying dead would been less painful than feeling the emotions that I am feeling right now. Havn't I done my time, why is the world so cruel, I can't even rest peacefully in death.

"It hurts," I croak out, not recognising the voice that left my mouth.

"Why does it hurt so much?"

At that moment my stomach grumbled, screaming at me to feed it or face its wrath.

"Eugh"

Slowly opening my eyes, and wiping away my tears, I once more looked around the environment that I found myself in.

"Strange," I muttered, sitting up.

"Why is there a computer and a desk here? This feels out of place somehow, like it's asking me to go to it."

Remembering the comics, manga, anime, and other stuff that I'd watched in my last life before the world went to hell, I suddenly became cautious, my battle instincts flaring up.

Countless years having faced monsters and beings that shouldn't exist having moulded me into a formidable combatant, it would be really hard to deceive me at this point.

Although I hadn't been in a similar situation to right now, I had however read about such situations before.

"A trap? Perhaps a demon hoping to contract with me? It's not impossible, seeking a deal with a broken man would be easier than someone normal."

Letting out a self deprecating chuckle, I moved towards the computer.

"Well, it can't get much worse, can it? I've already lost everyone that I care about. No need to worry about anyone missing me if something goes wrong."

Sitting down at the desk, I take a good look at the screen and what I see dumbfounded me. Despite countless situations running through my mind, nothing could have prepared me for what I saw on the screen.

[Cosmic Crypto Exchange]

Become rich, exchange cash or skills, we arn't picky! Just buy some damn Crypto!

1. Cosmic Coin £0.000001

2. Chad Coin £0.001

(buy) (sell) (convert) (portfolio) (skills)

"Uhh, what the fuck?" I swore, my mind going blank, even forgetting my troubles for a few minutes.

Of all the things to come in contact with in this void, it was a crypto exchange. Wait, maybe it's not completely hard to imagine.

The crypto market is really enticing, many people even become rich from it, though some that have stupidly bet their life savings have gone broke too.

"Seriously, if you are going to participate, just use small amounts each month, all it take is getting lucky once, no need to rush."

I remember buying £10 worth of crypto in my past life, I made a good amount, though I never got to use it which has always frustrated me.

Don't mistake my thoughts from before, if I have earned money, I want to use it. Everyone wants a comfortable life, even me.

That being said, if it came between money or the world, I'd have chosen saving the world. I didn't even bother trying to reclaim the money I'd lost in my past life, crypto had become worthless after the invasions.

"So unlucky, I was almost able to afford that top of the line gaming computer and my first house. I could have escaped rent!" My eyes brightened just thinking about it before quickly patting my cheeks.

"Ok, ok. Back to the task at hand."

I clicked on the powers option before once again freezing from shock.

2. Human Swordsmanship (Perfect)

3. Peak Human (Perfect)

5. Analysis (Advanced)

6. Cooking (Competent)

What shocked me wasn't the surprising lack of the skills that I have gathered over my many years of life, perhaps only listing my most useful skills, but the top skill.

Cosmic Crypto Quirk.

To those who don't know and havn't read or watched the anime, Quirks are the abilities that some people are born with in the world of My Hero Academia...a world of hero's... A world of frauds.

Yes, there are good and genuine hero's, but there are many more that are just in it to look good, date women and grab cash. They don't care about the people being hurt by the villains at all.

If a villain was attacking a large group of people and that hero had a good chance of dying and a below average chance of survival, they wouldn't risk their life to save those people. They'd sit back and make excuses for why they couldn't help and then go on talking about how great they are a few days later after the death of all those people.

Perfectly fine taking the money just for showing up, but unless they were confident in being able to win, they wouldn't bother helping.

Disgusting.

Calling yourself a hero, taking the people's tax money and refusing to help those that need you, scum of the earth. I sacrificed everything I had to keep people safe before I died and I didn't even get called a hero nor did I expect to called one, instead I got stabbed in the back by them. Literally.

"Is someone fucking with me right now? A world of hero's? Why was I reincarnated into such a world? MHA of all places?!"

While True that I didn't know the full plot of this anime, I had watched at least some of the first season before getting bored and swapping from anime to the starwars: the clone wars animated series...

"That being said, I've heard alot about the hero society here and even the higher ups are in All For One's pocket. Anyone with a useful quirk gets sold out as a child and sometimes the HPSC may even try to interfere with exams to keep the better hero's from graduating from U.A or other hero schools."

"Some streets and regions arn't even patrolled by hero's at all, it's completely lawless leaving people to fight for themselves. Let's not even talk about casualties and damages when the hero's do show up or even how the quirkless are treated. Just thinking about it pisses me off."

Glaring at the screen, I started thinking.

Maybe I could change the fate of this world, eliminate the villains that cause suffering permanently, and remove the blatant corruption that infects every corner of the world. It not just Japan that faces such issues, America is also known for its corruption and heavy hitting villains too.

"Maybe after proving myself, maybe I can even get Nezu on board with this. Despite what his emotions show everyone, he is known to have issues with the HPSC, and after killing everyone who experimented on him, I doubt he truly has anything against killing villains."

As a conscious chimera with a quirk, it would be hard to be treated seriously by society as not just another rabid animal that got loose from experimentation if he just advocated for killing everyone, he might even be seen as a threat, so he could only blend in and showcase his intelligence to keep himself and the children he in charge of safe.

"Pretty sure that he still hates humans though, he probably can only stay nice with the staff at U.A and students because he raised a lot of the staff and treats the students as his Kit. U.A can be considered a sanctuary by him, and anyone going there with bad intentions would face hell. He's cautious not soft, and he's highly intelligent."

Looking back at the screen I start wondering if I could somehow chain some abilities from this crypto exchanhe, and if so what kind. Also if this is my quirk does that mean that I have subconsciously activated it after reincarnating and have been transported to my quirk space?

My eyes light up at this thought.

"Yes, that makes sense, if I really am in the MHA world then it won't just be this darkness that surrounds me. This place must exist because of my quirk, meaning that I can leave at any time.

If that's the case then I don't have to worry about being cursed or something and can use this computer as I please, I just need to properly figure out how it works, and when I do...

"The world better be ready for what comes next."
