Chapter 1: The Normal Earth
Reaching towards the transparent screen, the man with blue hair and unusual colour eyes awoke from the sleep that lasted only four hours.
[6:00] The screen tells the time and the date. [29th of the First Tower Month and Year]
Luke stares at the date to suddenly notice that it has been 29 days since the Tower's appearance.
"What a month." He voices out to his room, a flat in the remotest corner of the world, a forgotten city from the perspective of the world.
Removing the layer of blanket from himself, Luke grabs the white metallic gun from the bed stand and holsters it on his clothes that he wore to bed.
Moving through the various parts of crystals with stubborn flesh which lay about his room. Luke reaches his bathroom and looks at his mirror, he commands his system, one available to the unsynchronized.

A screen, reminiscent of a game, appeared Infront of Luke. "I'm still injured, huh," Luke said as he looks down at his arm which is layered in bandages from the hospital and remembers a fire-breathing lizard, "That lizard really did something." Luke states as if pain did not exist in his world.
Luke ran his fingers down in a repeated motion that broke apart the screen. Separated, the screen gathers and appears distinctly from the earlier screen.
[Internet] [Tower] [Status]
Luke taps [Internet] which transforms into a browser, like Google months ago before the Tower Era. Luke, with no change in expression, browses the Tower Internet.
[How to become Chosen]
[Three ways to remove vermin]
[Brian, the 560th rank chosen, saves City B from City A's anomaly.]
...
Luke browses the news or a page that resembles a forum until he comes upon a certain forum. He raises one eyebrow, "A whole month of waiting, a day left until the ultimatum". Luke presses the forum to expand it.
[The final day before the chosen are going inside the Tower]
[Your friend chosen here! Do you get it? Anyways, tomorrow is the day that the tower spoke about, a month of getting familiar and close with monsters has sent everybody into a spirally loop. Especially, the uncountable number of people who were in power. If you told me or anyone here that in just a month, the World Tower association would exist and it would fight monsters, I would think you are crazy, a lunatic. But, my friends, we live in this world and to live is to suffer and even the synchronized are not free from this suffering. We fight to keep Earth's relative peace, so keep living!]
[109872]: Wow! The author of this post really is optimistic, makes you wonder if they are mentally ill!
[128743]: I wonder what possessed this chosen to make this forum. Why can't I just be chosen?
[109872]: His ego became bigger than his reasoning, you know the world has become a caste system with the chosen like VIPs, the Tower is what's ruining Earth.
[123345]: You should not insult the Association; they have done good!
[109872]: What? You think facing these disgusting beings is a good reason for a universal translator? People like you disgust me, cannot believe even normal people have decided to become sheep!
[123345]: You are just as much a hypocrite; you receive help from Tower's existence. The power you get from killing monsters is not enough good. The unified world that was once on the brink of nuclear fallout is better than a chance of life in a green world?!
[128743]: Where is the next meal going to come from? The nearest monster that eats humans, probably. Wouldn't life be so much better if there were no monsters?
[109872]: I am sick of people like you who preach and preach, just because the @#@! *@ Tower gave you power, you just fall in line like it is normal. I assume you have never seen or even considered that thousands and tens of cities become ruins because of the Tower.
"Even online commentors would get riled up?" Luke finds that today may be a little more difficult than the earlier other days. "With the chosen leaving, what will happen to those who are unsynchronized?" Luke waves the screen away and moves into the shower.
Ten miles away from City Z's gate, a forest in which monster appearances are low, Luke and others wander the forest looking for prey.
Running through the forest with overgrown trees that exude mana, or as tower calls Energy, Luke brings his arm straight and locks onto a green creature that was fleeing. "Goblins? I didn't know they appeared here." The goblin turns around to see a black muzzle flickering white before falling over. Luke approached the Goblin and aimed once more. Bang. The Goblin's head had a companion hole.
"Where did they say the core was? Here?" Luke reaches into the head of the goblin and rummages, but to no avail. "Or maybe here," Luke moved his hands into the chest of the goblin and brought out a crystal with bits of flesh stuck. "Nice! This is... a day's meal? It is small.", Luke states before he put the core into the backpack and continues his hunt.
After hours, Luke checked his status.

Luke sees his physical state and was surprised, "I'm not dead? It is only low after this?" His upper body ripped into three sections. Luke touches his injury and notices the pain. "It seems major, I should probably stop."
"Wouldn't want to die before I remove the world of the monsters."
Luke turns around to leave the forest through the trail he left behind but hesitates before deciding one more. "Another wouldn't hurt as much," Luke says before returning to the hunt. "I shouldn't face another masked bear again, right?".
