**Chapter 28: Natsu's Charge**

The arena was a tempest of noise and motion, the crowd's cheers reverberating like thunder as Todoroki's colossal wall of ice loomed over the course, a shimmering monolith that seemed insurmountable. The icy barrier, towering and unyielding, reflected the sunlight in dazzling patterns, its surface smooth and unbroken. Todoroki stood at its base, his breath visible in the cold air, his expression calm but resolute. He had poured every ounce of his power into creating this fortress of ice, a testament to his mastery over his quirk. With a quick glance over his shoulder, he assessed the frozen obstacle and then shifted his focus forward. Ahead lay the minefield, the final stretch of the race, and Todoroki was determined to claim victory.

Carefully, he coated the ground with a thin sheet of ice, freezing the mines below so they wouldn't detonate. As the ice smoothed out the terrain, Todoroki began running across it with precision and confidence, each footstep light as he sped toward the finish line. The crowd erupted in cheers, their voices shaking the very walls of the stadium. Todoroki had given himself a massive advantage, and it seemed like no one could stop him now.

The first to arrive at the ice wall was Tenya Iida. His engines roared to life, blue flames erupting from his calves as he propelled himself into the air. Twisting his body mid-jump, he delivered a powerful kick to the icy barrier.

**CRASH!**

The ice cracked from the impact, but Iida's eyes widened in disbelief as his foot became stuck. The wall, despite the cracks, didn't budge an inch. Iida, struggling to free himself, looked down in frustration. "How thick is this wall? Are you serious, Todoroki...?"

Yamada's voice boomed across the arena, his excitement palpable. "It's not looking good for our students! That wall is like a fortress! Will anyone be able to break through it? Meanwhile, Todoroki is getting closer to the finish line!"

Finally, Iida managed to pull his leg free. His normally composed face now showed a serious, determined look, his breath visible in the cold air. As shards of ice fluttered around him, his attention was caught by a flicker of green light at the corner of his vision. Turning, he saw Midoriya Izuku charging toward the ice wall, electricity crackling around his body.

"**One For All: 5% Smash!**" Midoriya roared as his fist collided with the icy barrier. More cracks splintered through the wall, and shards of ice flew in all directions, glistening as they caught the light. The attack left the audience breathless, but despite the impact, the wall still stood firm, unmoved by Midoriya's might.

Before the students could recover, an explosive entrance marked Bakugo's arrival. His face twisted with anger, he unleashed a series of powerful blasts from his hands, each one shaking the entire structure of the ice wall. The once-immovable barrier trembled under the force of his relentless attack. Finally, Bakugo punched through, creating a small opening, just enough for one person to squeeze through.

"Move it!" Bakugo snarled, his rage evident as he dove into the narrow gap. His eyes gleamed with fury, refusing to be outdone.

Seeing the gap, the other students rushed to take advantage. However, before anyone could follow him, Bakugo whipped around, his hands glowing with energy. With a blast of fire and smoke, he sent a warning explosion back at them, keeping the others at bay.

Meanwhile, Mineta, using his sticky grape balls, had managed to climb his way to the top of the ice wall, his face etched with a mixture of terror and determination. Below him, Yaoyorozu had crafted a cannon and was firing at the ice wall piece by piece, trying to widen the gap and help her fellow students get through.

The crowd was on the edge of their seats, chanting and screaming as each student fought to break through the massive icy barrier. Yamada's voice boomed across the arena. "What an intense showdown! Todoroki's wall is proving nearly impenetrable! Will anyone manage to break through in time, or has Todoroki already sealed his victory?!"

Then, just as the chaos reached its peak, everything stopped. A strange sound echoed through the air, something unfamiliar yet powerful enough to halt everyone in their tracks. Bakugo, having just stepped outside the wall, felt his eyes widen at the sound. He wasn't the only one. Even Todoroki, who was far ahead, glanced over his shoulder mid-run, his heart racing as he recognized what was happening.

Every student, from Yaoyorozu to Midoriya, Iida, and Kaminari, turned their heads to the source of the noise.

"**GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!**"

Mineta, standing precariously atop the wall, saw it first. His eyes bulged as he stared at the sight approaching with terrifying speed. "You've got to be kidding me... Is he trying to turn me into a roasted marshmallow?!"

The scene became clear to everyone in the arena. Natsu was charging forward, his body wreathed in swirling flames, two massive wings of fire spreading out from his back. His entire form glowed like a dragon made of pure fire, and the heat radiating from him warped the air around him. Those standing nearby were forced to step back, the intense heat too much to bear.

With a fierce grin on his face, Natsu accelerated toward the ice wall. The flames enveloping his body roared as he gathered his strength. As he neared the towering wall, he leaped into the air, his voice echoing through the stadium.

"**Fire Dragon's Claw!**"

The fiery wings on Natsu's back transformed into streams of fire that shot from his arms. The sheer power of the attack collided with Todoroki's icy barrier, and for the first time, the indomitable wall shattered. Massive shards of ice exploded into the sky, glittering like stars as they rained down. The ice hadn't melted—it had been completely obliterated.

Even Natsu couldn't fully melt Todoroki's ice due to its sheer thickness, but he had destroyed it through sheer force and heat. Now, with every step Natsu took, the ground beneath him sizzled, the remaining ice melting into steam under his feet.

Mineta, having been caught in the blast, fell from the top of the wall alongside the shards of ice, shouting in dismay, "This is NOT how this was supposed to go!"

Natsu, blazing like a comet, surged forward past Bakugo, who growled in frustration as Natsu flashed by. "Get out of the way!" Natsu called, leaving Bakugo in his fiery wake.

A look of fury crossed Bakugo's face. "You think you can just pass me like that?!" he snarled, explosions igniting in his palms as he launched himself forward. No matter how hard he pushed, though, Bakugo couldn't close the gap. Natsu remained ahead, a ball of fire that even Bakugo's explosions couldn't catch.

As Natsu tore through the course, a growing realization spread among the spectators. The crowd roared in awe and excitement, their cheers shaking the stadium as Yamada shouted, "Can you believe this?! Natsu Dragneel has just destroyed Todoroki's ice wall! He's unstoppable!"
