Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Knight Enters UA
The past 10 months had been grueling, but Izuku Midoriya had never felt stronger. With Arthur's constant guidance, he'd honed both his body and mind. Arthur's unorthodox training methods were exhausting, but they worked. Izuku's muscles had become more defined, his stamina vastly increased, and most importantly, he'd mastered the "Breath of Life," a technique Arthur claimed separated a warrior from a "true knight." His plasma control had reached new heights, and his skills with a blade were sharper than ever.
Now, he stood at the towering gates of U.A. High School, staring up at them with a quiet sense of anticipation. His heart beat steadily, not from nerves, but from excitement.
"This is it, lad," Arthur's voice echoed in his mind. "The gates of destiny. Go forth, and carve your legend."
Izuku's lips curled into a confident smile. "Right. Time to claim my throne."
He stepped forward, but as he glanced around the vast campus, he quickly realized something troubling—he was lost.
"Where are the exam halls supposed to be?" he muttered to himself, scanning the area.
As he turned a corner, he spotted a girl with long periwinkle hair flowing like waves. Her carefree energy was infectious as she twirled about, glancing around as if she was taking in every inch of the campus like it was a theme park.
"Excuse m—" Izuku began, but the girl turned around before he could finish.
His heart skipped a beat. She was stunning—eyes filled with wonder and curiosity, a playful smile on her lips. But it was more than that. Her presence had a brightness to it, like she could light up an entire room just by being there.
Still, Izuku quickly recovered his cool demeanor. His smile returned, sharp and full of charm. "Are you the princess of this castle?" he asked smoothly.
The girl's eyes widened, and a deep blush spread across her cheeks. "Eh?!" she squeaked, momentarily stunned by his words.
Realizing he'd caught her off guard, Izuku chuckled softly and extended a hand. "My apologies. My name's Izuku Midoriya. I'm looking for the entrance exam hall. Would you be so kind as to guide me, Princess?"
The girl blinked a few times, her mind clearly catching up with his words. Her smile returned, even wider than before. "Oh, wow! You're funny! And you're cute, too! I'm Nejire Hadou!" She grabbed his hand, shaking it enthusiastically. "You're taking the entrance exam, huh? Are you nervous? Do you think the robots are going to be scary? Do you like robots? What's your quirk? Oh! Are you one of those mysterious types with a secret quirk you're hiding?!"
Izuku's eyes widened for a moment at the barrage of questions, but instead of freezing up, he answered every single one. "No, I'm not nervous. I'm looking forward to it. Robots aren't scary, but they do sound really fun to fight. My quirk's called Knight Regalia—it's a plasma-based combat quirk. And no, I'm not the mysterious type. I'm more of the 'do what needs to be done' type."
Nejire's eyes practically sparkled as she leaned forward. "Whoa! No one's ever answered all my questions before! You're cool, Izuku! I'll show you where to go!"
She led him to the exam hall, chatting the entire way. Izuku found himself smiling. "She's... different," he thought, glancing at her. Arthur's voice hummed knowingly. "That's the kind of girl who'll change your fate, lad. Mark my words."
The exam hall was packed with students. Present Mic's loud, energetic explanation of the entrance exam echoed through the room. Izuku leaned back, arms crossed, humming softly in thought, his eyes half-closed in contemplation—just like Arthur often did when he was "strategizing." It was a habit Izuku had picked up from him.
Suddenly, a blue-haired boy stood up, his sharp voice cutting through the explanation. "Excuse me! Present Mic, there's a discrepancy in the instructions! You mentioned four robot types, but there's no mention of the zero-pointer! This is unacceptable!"
As the boy sat back down, he shot a sharp glance at Izuku. "And you—stop humming like this is a joke. If you're not going to take this seriously, you should leave!"
Izuku's eyes slowly opened, sharp like the edge of a blade. He turned toward the boy, his expression calm but firm. "A knight is always calm before battle," he said, his voice steady but powerful. "If you're so worried about instructions, maybe you're the one lacking resolve."
The boy's eyes widened, his face flushing red with embarrassment.
The Practical Exam
The gates to the mock city opened, and Present Mic's voice roared, "GO!"
Izuku dashed in like a flash of light, his plasma sword igniting in his hand. He moved like a knight charging into battle, his eyes sharp and focused. Robots were cleaved in half with precision as he weaved through the field, his movements fluid and efficient.
Up in the observation room, the proctors watched the monitors closely. Nezu's eyes twinkled with amusement as he sipped his tea. "He's quite skilled, isn't he?"
Aizawa's eyes narrowed. "Nezu, I want him in my class."
Nezu chuckled. "Very well, Aizawa. But let's see how he handles this." He pressed a button, and a giant zero-pointer robot emerged, its shadow casting darkness over the city.
Izuku glanced at it, tilting his head. "Heh, looks like a Minotaur." His lips curled into a smirk, but a cry for help stopped him. He spotted a girl trapped under rubble.
"I'll handle it," Arthur's voice declared.
"Alright, it's yours," Izuku replied, closing his eyes briefly.
His hair turned bright blonde, and his smirk widened into a confident grin. His eyes burned with unwavering focus. "Fear not, fair maiden," Arthur declared as he dashed to the girl's side, lifting the rubble with ease and carrying her to safety.
He then turned to face the zero-pointer. "You are a fool to bare your fangs to the Knight King. My name is Arthur Boyle, Supreme Commander of Camelot and captain of the Order of the Round Table!"
He jumped high into the air, his plasma sword glowing like a violet sun. "Violet Flash!" he roared, slashing the robot clean in half before landing gracefully. The explosion behind him was like a grand finale.
One Week Later
Izuku sat at his desk, staring at the UA letter. He opened it, and a hologram of All Might appeared.
"Congratulations, Young Midoriya! You've claimed first place in the exam, breaking every previous record. Welcome to U.A. High School! You've shown great courage, skill, and resolve—qualities that will take you far on your path to becoming a hero!"
Arthur's voice echoed in his mind, triumphant. "The gates of Camelot have opened, lad. Your legend begins.
