Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Spark of a Knight
The skies over Musutafu shimmered with an orange hue as the sun set. In a cozy apartment complex near the suburbs, a young Izuku Midoriya, no older than four, sat cross-legged on his bed. His hands clutched an All Might figurine, the plastic hero's triumphant grin staring back at him.
Izuku's emerald eyes, wide with admiration, glistened as he murmured, "One day... I'll be a hero, just like you."
Unbeknownst to him, fate had already decided a different path.
It happened that very night.
Izuku's room was bathed in silver moonlight as he drifted off to sleep, the figurine still clutched in his hand. Suddenly, a searing sensation spread through his chest. His small body jolted, and his breathing became ragged as an otherworldly presence flooded his being. A deep, regal voice echoed within his mind.
"Hoh! What have we here?" the voice exclaimed, tinged with excitement and curiosity. "what a feeble-looking squire you are!"
Izuku's eyes snapped open. He clutched his head, confused and terrified. "W-who's there?! Mom?!"
"Relax, boy," the voice said with an audible smirk. "You've just been blessed with the greatest soul to ever grace the battlefield. My name is Arthur Boyle, the Knight King."
Izuku's confusion deepened. "A knight? Like... from the old stories?"
"Indeed! And you, my tiny companion, have been chosen as my successor. Together, we shall embark on the grandest of quests."
Arthur boomed. "From this day forth, I shall guide you to your destiny!"
Izuku wiped his tears, still uncertain but intrigued. "Really? Can... can I be a hero like All Might?"
Arthur paused before chuckling softly. "Forget this All Might. You shall rise above even him, boy! You shall become the Knight King, as I once was."
The years that followed were anything but ordinary. With Arthur's spirit residing within him, Izuku's childhood took a bizarre turn. The Knight King's voice was a constant companion—sometimes guiding, sometimes teasing, and often outright confusing the young boy.
Arthur's eccentric personality bled into Izuku, shaping him into a peculiar mix of idealistic hero and medieval knight. By the time he was ten, Izuku could recite chivalric codes by heart and confidently spar with wooden swords he insisted were "legendary weapons."
"You've got potential, lad," Arthur would say during their training sessions, his voice booming in Izuku's mind as the boy swung a plasma-infused stick at an imaginary foe. "But you lack proper form! Envision your foe as a vile dragon. Strike with valor!"
Despite the oddities, Izuku grew stronger. Plasma manipulation, Arthur's signature ability, became second nature. While the other kids at Aldera Middle School marveled at their quirks, Izuku practiced generating plasma swords, shields, and even armor. He still admired All Might, but his dreams shifted. He didn't want to be a hero like the Symbol of Peace—he wanted to be a hero with the grandeur and honor of a knight.
One day, during a rare peaceful moment, Izuku sat beneath a sakura tree near his school. He gazed up at the blossoms, lost in thought. Arthur, ever the chatterbox, broke the silence.
"You're growing well, boy," he said with pride. "Soon, you'll be ready for true challenges. Perhaps even dragons!"
Izuku chuckled. "Arthur, dragons aren't real. You keep saying you fought one, but..."
"Are you calling your master a liar?" Arthur retorted, mock offense in his tone.
Izuku laughed harder. "No, no! It's just... you're really weird sometimes."
Arthur huffed. "Weirdness is the mark of greatness, my squire. Remember that."
As the laughter subsided, a figure appeared in the distance. Katsuki Bakugo, his childhood friend and rival, strolled up with his usual confident stride. Unlike in the original timeline, Katsuki and Izuku shared a bond built on mutual respect. Their relationship was a mix of rivalry and camaraderie—akin to Arthur Boyle and Shinra Kusakabe.
"Oi Idiot" Bakugo called out, crossing his arms. "Still playing knight in shining armor?"
Izuku grinned, standing up. "Better a knight than some explosion-crazed barbarian like you."
Bakugo smirked, a spark of his quirk crackling in his palm. "You talk big for a guy who still can't beat me in a fight."
"Care to test that, Devil?" Izuku's plasma ignited, forming a glowing sword in his hand. His eyes sparkled with excitement.
The two charged at each other, their sparring a blur of explosions and plasma strikes. As they clashed, Arthur's voice rang in Izuku's head.
"Yes, lad! Show him the power of the Knight King!"
By the time they graduated middle school, Izuku's goal was set. He would enter U.A. High and prove to the world that chivalry wasn't dead. His heart burned with determination, his plasma glowing brighter with each passing day.
Little did he know, his journey to becoming the Knight King was only just beginning.
