Meddling The Omniverse

Chapter 31: 31. Ristarte's First Visit

Location: Seth's 'Place'

"Welcome." Seth welcomed Ristarte and Seiya to his 'home' like a true showman.

Ristarte gawked at what she was seeing, while Seiya stood cautiously to his surroundings.

They stood in the middle of a linear transdimensional spaceport, with all the sci-fi looks and feel.

As of this moment, myriads of vehicles and vessels whizzed around the port, dropping their goods and passengers before continuing their trans-dimensional journey.

"So what do you think…" Seth asked but noticed Ristarte's condition.

"Whuh Wuh Wha Wheh! SeTH… ISNt this the beh bhah… rumored secred base of the…" Ristarte's brain shortcircuited.

"Ah… Oh yeah… I haven't told her about that. What about you Seiya?"

"Where's the promised training place?" Seiya didn't budge.

"Aren't you curious for a bit?" Seth asked. Yet Seiya's expression was still the same

"Well, I'll say it again: Welcome to my realm! I'm one of those rare beings who owns a realm or universe or whatever you want to call it."

YOU OWNN THIS REALM! Ristarte's mind crashed at the revelation. She frazzled in place like a malfunctioning robot seconds from imploding.

"SIR SETH" a cute child's voice shouted from the distance.

"Jif! My small fluffy secretary! How has it been around here?"

A cotton ball arrived on a floating platform, "Everything went better than anticipated! Nothing bad happened while you were hospitalized."

"Any other things to report?"

"Yes, sir! First of all, upgrades on our universal translator have finally made progress. Thanks to your helping hands, of course!" Jif celebrated, even throwing confetti and flower petals out. However, they disappeared before hitting the floor, implying they were illusions instead of the real thing.

Jif pulled out a document from who knows where. "As for the specific data–"

"Not now Jif, the project has sensitive information, right now we are in public." Seth hinted at the surrounding ships and other modes of transportation. They are all from multiversal empires and groups under the organization's scope of influence, but they are at their core, still outsiders.

Jif stowed the documents away and continued, "And as you can see sir, We also have started our soft opening, those who have a close relationship with our organization are now visiting and enjoying our place. Many of them are still testing our facilities, so far, the reviews are stellar!"

With all that done, Seth went back to the main task at hand, his workmate goddess and Hero.

Seiya just stood in the back looking rigid and all, Ristarte on the other hand was still in denial.

"Are these two your colleague Goddess and hero I heard of?" Jif asked. Seth nodded to it.

As Seth's professional assistant, Jif introduced himself to both of them. Seiya kept his distance, while Ristarte… Jif failed to get anything out of her.

"Jif, it has been at least a week since I returned here, why don't you tour us around here?" Seth signaled.

"Sure thing sir!" Jif replied as a platform scooped the four of them.

"All the fantastic creatures in our sanctuary have happily adapted to their new home," Jif announced at a giant tree-like structure.

Seiya just sightsees the place like a passerby. Ristarte, while still somewhat disturbed, observed many beings she recognized with interest.

The tree-shaped building was a nature preserve. The main trunk was the sanctuary's gate and base for tourists and researchers, while the leaves were portals leading to different kinds of wondrous habitats in separate universes.

"Now that I think about it…" Seth leaned towards Jif, "How's our camouflage system doing? Have they even once detected our presence? I know it's still a prototype but the top brass wanted to research these creatures in their most natural environment,"

"Those creatures haven't detected us even while face to face," Jif answered.

"Seth?" Seiya called from the distance.

As the ever-welcoming god, Seth obliges, "What's the matter?"

"These worms… does each of those leaves…?" Seiya pointed at the portal.

For aesthetic purposes, each portal is shaped like a leaf. For tourism purposes, anyone can see what's inside by focusing their sight on the portals, giving them a sneak peek at whatever's inside.

"IMPOSSIBLE!? THESE WORMS!" everyone turned towards the source.

"HOW DID YOU GET THEM!!!" It was Ristarte.

Seiya raised his eyebrows, if Ristarte was alarmed by the sight of these worms, then bells were already ringing in his head.

Seiya quickened his steps, but Seth stopped him, "As you can see, these planetary worms are from the mysterious void. Their official name hasn't been decided yet."

From the portal, they saw worms that could swallow planets phasing in and out of reality, burrowing into the fabric of space itself.

Ristarte though unstable finally spoke, "They're infamous for being impossible… to contain. A chunk of our pantheon was bitten from their kind, but due to their spatial burrowing… it escaped."

Seth chuckled, "True, I had trouble holding these worms in place–"

"Hold it, does that mean…" Ristarte was shocked, "You even found a way to hold them down?!"

Jif immediately pulled out a hologram, showcasing planet-sized worms circling in deep space. "Lady Ristarte, when we brought these fellas into here, our lord Seth struggled for days keeping them in place. But thanks to him, our experts finally got a good look and found a way to contain them."

Jif pointed at the spatial whirlpool in the middle of that realm, "These worms, while powerful, have poor intelligence and perception. All they do is slither or warp to any location with the most spatial fluctuation. Previously, they often broke out due to sensing space fluctuation outside their enclosure, so as long as we give them a big enough source of fluctuating space, they'll lose interest in escaping."

"Won't this stress them out?" Seiya asked.

"As far as our experts and tamers observed, not at all." Jif smiled

"Most of the books that the organization's promised have been neatly arranged in our library, now we're waiting for books from other pantheons or multiversal empires." Jif led them through a reality-warped tower. Due to the omniverse having many languages, the books all have been encoded with translation functions.

"How many floors have these books filled?"

"Around 31 thousand floors so far." Keep in mind that each floor holds almost a million.

Ristarte was shaken again. The top superpowers in the omniverse have created one of the most complete and all-encompassing libraries in the omniverse, an ultimate well of knowledge across many worlds.

"Of course, this place doesn't hold forbidden knowledge or sensitive information…" Seth looked to the side.

"Seiya, What are you looking at?" he noticed Seiya reading a particular book, a mystical almanac.

"Is it fine to have combat magic books available for the public?"

"We have countermeasures. Try reading it with evil intentions towards us."

Seiya did so and saw the text morphed from Japanese to Russian, which he had no clue how to read.

"Any bad person who wants to harm our organization will be forced to read it in a language the readers don't understand. Even if they later learned that language, the book will just switch to another one, and so on."

"Also, if you previously didn't learn these books to harm us, but later on did." Seth placed his hand on Seiya's shoulder, "That learned knowledge will be permanently removed from your mind, which also includes additional knowledge and precious moments you got because of that removed knowledge."

Seiya immediately realized the complications that could cause to someone's life. The loss of core memories and essential skills could ruin them, plus insignificant yet related memories might be removed too.

"That's the point, if the consequences were that severe, they wouldn't even dare so in the first place."

"Here we are at our glorious magic research center." Jif presented at a golden-laced magic academy encaged in an astrology globe.

"Aria! What are you doing here!?" Ristarte exclaimed

"Oh Ristarte, it's quite a surprise." Aria, also known as Goddess Ariadoa replied.

"Wait, are you also invited to this soft opening?"

"Yes, of course. As the goddess of sealing, I have been invited to help with their research. Don't worry, I have been compensated generously." She answered with a smile.

"What would it be for?"

"They wanted to use my divine sealing power to create containment zones for their research centers, for when things turn awry."

"Lord Seth! It is a pleasure for you to visit our humble center." a balloon with a witch hat rushed and bowed.

"Sir, we have recently made a breakthrough with our decoy magic! With this, we could set up decoys with identical life signatures. Which should be able to fool most experts except those with prophetic abilities."

The balloon brought Seth, Jif, Ristarte, Seiya, and Ariadoa through an enclosed well-padded room, through magic they could observe everything that happened in there.

"Just infuse a bit of soul and the decoy will instantly become active!" the balloon declared as a wisp was stuffed into a potato with a sticker.

As the wisp entered the potato, the sticker activated and a silly face with googly eyes emerged from the potato. Tiny nubs emerged as its arms and legs. It clumsily trotted the padded room moving around aimlessly.

"This is a fine masterpiece you have conceptualized Lord Seth! Even a toddler could activate this sticker! All we have to do now is etch a soul-pricking and self-masking spell! Once those are done, we will have a marketable DECOY for the multiverse!" the balloon spellcaster announced.

Seth smiled at the success, but then something was off.

"The potato's glowing." Seiya was the first to point it out, Everyone saw spots of lights on the silly running potato.

"OH NAH! Activate the sealing program!" An ethereal arm jutted out from the balloon and slapped a switch.

Runic circles filled with sealing powers enveloped the increasingly bright potato. Its cute googly eyes realized its predicament but was not smart enough to think of it.

"What could happen from this–"

SPUDOW! An explosion that could flatten a two-story house occurred. The group felt the quake but before the explosion grew, the sealing runes locked its range in place.

The potato detonated, covering the sealed room with mashed potatoes. The explosion still has its full power yet its range of destruction was contained exactly an inch around said potato, meaning no damage was done from the explosion.

The balloon politely coughed, "Congratulations Goddess Ariadoa, your sealing has perfectly integrated into our sealing containment program. With this, we could experiment more in peace."

"You're welcome, the experience of infusing my power was a pleasant experience."

Seth and the rest finally bid their ways with Aria and that balloon spellcaster. Aria had other places she had to visit.

Suddenly, a white-haired goddess arrived. "Seth, it's been a while."

"Eris. How are you…" Seth replied but quieted down when he saw her face.

She still held that polite smile, yet he knew it was strained. She was in her usual goddess clothes and was holding something.

"Seth? May I know who she is?" Ristarte initiated the conversation, feeling a hidden competition.

Seth took a deep breath, "Let me introduce you, this lady is Goddess Eris, the goddess of luck and fortune from the ******** pantheon. my coworker and mentor when I started isekai people."

"Oh then let me introduce myself, i am goddess Ristarte, the goddess of healing from the ****** pantheon, me and Seth are now tasked to save an S-class world with our very awesome hero, Seiya!" Ristarte presented Seiya with flair and all.

Eris with a smile replied, "I'll hope the best for your journey you three. Though right now I have something important for Seth."

"Uh… is it confidential, if it is we can leave you two for a moment." Ristarte scooched over to bring Seiya somewhere else.

"Ah no, don't worry, it is better if you two also hear this."
