Chapter 296: Chapter 296: Copying the Flying Arrow
"Emperor, are you saying you want to take a look at the thing on my head?"
Yondu's smile froze as if he had just heard the biggest joke of his life. As a Ravager, he would never hand over his weapon, no matter who asked—be it the Emperor himself.
But Alan thought differently. Slowly, he raised his right hand and held the Green Lantern ring in front of Yondu, the soft green glow immediately capturing Yondu's attention.
"What's this?" Yondu asked, astonished.
Alan calmly used the ring's power to manifest a gun in front of Yondu.
"See? You lend me your weapon, and I'll lend you the ring. It's a fair trade."
Hearing Alan's words, Yondu fell into deep thought. After a moment, he stood up and firmly gripped Alan's arm. "Deal."
On the Ravager ship, Quill and the others were embroiled in a chaotic scuffle, their shouts echoing all around. Meanwhile, Alan walked back toward his ship, holding a crimson arrow in his hand.
He had traded the Green Lantern ring with Yondu for the weapon. However, the ring would not acknowledge Yondu as its wielder. In his hands, it was just an ordinary piece of jewelry. Alan had tricked Yondu.
His true goal was to have Red Queen replicate the capabilities of the arrow.
Back on the ship, Red Queen was leaning by the window, gazing out at the vast expanse of the universe. Her black-and-white eyes sparkled with a curious glint. Alan felt that ever since her fusion with the Mind Stone, she had begun to change—her emotions seemed to be awakening.
"Master?" Red Queen turned around, a look of surprise and delight on her face as she saw Alan.
Alan walked over and patted her head.
"What are you doing here?"
Red Queen replied, "I was wondering if there's another me out there in the universe."
Alan stared at her in shock. Was this little one guessing about parallel universes? Right now, they had no time to deal with such matters.
"Master, what's that you're holding?" Red Queen craned her neck, her curious eyes fixed on the arrow.
"Perfect timing. I came to find you for this." Alan placed the arrow and the fin-like device Yondu used to control it on the table. "Analyze these for me."
Red Queen's interest was piqued. She eagerly began inspecting the items.
"Hmm, this fin is a device that connects to brainwaves and controls the arrow's movements through vibrations in the oral cavity. The arrow itself is made of a special energy-based material and doesn't require any other power source."
Red Queen shared her findings with Alan. Thanks to her supercomputing abilities, the composition of the arrow was straightforward. The challenge lay in obtaining the rare material it was made from.
"Can you replicate the fin?" Alan asked nervously.
Red Queen nodded. "Yes, that's simple."
Overjoyed, Alan scooped Red Queen into his arms, only to notice her cheeks had turned slightly red.
"Ahem! Then help me make a copy of the fin. As for creating the arrows, I've already got a plan."
Indeed, Alan only needed a device to control the arrows. He could use the Green Lantern ring to create energy arrows. This weapon would be the mass-destruction tool of his dreams.
Red Queen immediately got to work using the ship's materials to craft the device. Alan took the arrow and returned to the Ravager ship.
Inside Yondu's quarters, the Green Lantern ring appeared dull and lifeless. No matter how much Yondu fiddled with it, the ring wouldn't respond at all.
"Why? Why won't this little thing light up?" he shouted in frustration.
