Marvel Shuttling the Heavens

Chapter 274: Heading to the Base

The monster had been successfully eliminated, but Li Yue didn't feel particularly excited.

He was pondering his next move. He had Little Dumb scan the monster, but nothing valuable was found. This monster, as described in the movie, was a cloned product of aliens. However, Li Yue couldn't obtain the cloning technology from the monster's body.

Li Yue thought the aliens who coveted this Earth and sent these cloned monsters must have advanced technology. Their biotechnology likely surpassed that of the Marvel universe. However, it seemed their technology had deviated somehow, or how else could humans have destroyed their homes with nuclear weapons in the movie?

Of course, Li Yue knew he was in the real world, and while some aspects could reference the movie's settings, he couldn't fully trust them. He found it hard to believe that the movie's plan to destroy the aliens' home with nuclear bombs would succeed so quickly. Aliens capable of sending monsters to disrupt human civilization and having long-term wormhole technology had defenses against such attacks.

"It seems I shouldn't rashly venture into that wormhole."

Li Yue had initially planned to go through the wormhole to find those aliens and acquire their technology. But now, he realized he needed a better plan. Ideally, someone else should first test the waters, allowing him to formulate a comprehensive strategy.

"If it's just a vanguard... the protagonists from the movie might be the best candidates."

Li Yue then focused on the movie's protagonist. "I wonder if, in the real world, they can perform as heroically as they did under the movie's plot armor."

This curiosity led Li Yue to command, "Little Dumb, locate Raleigh Becket, the former pilot of Gipsy Danger, and find out what he's doing now."

"Sir, I'm filtering and searching based on your criteria," Little Dumb responded.

...

While Li Yue was lost in thought, observing the monster's corpse being slowly consumed, the sound of helicopter rotors approached from afar and soon hovered about a hundred meters away.

"Hello, sir. I am Lin Zhenguo, commander of the Broken Dome Defense Base in Hong Kong. Could you please come aboard for a discussion?"

Li Yue turned to see an older man in a military uniform, smiling and looking at him from the helicopter cabin, waiting for his response.

"Hey, wasn't that general supposed to be a Black guy? Why is he Chinese?"

Although Li Yue didn't show it on his face, he was surprised.

"I think your suggestion is good. I'll accept your invitation," Li Yue replied, quickly suppressing his surprise and disappearing from his spot.

"Wow, how did you do that?"

Li Yue reappeared inside the helicopter, prompting an excited exclamation from a young woman.

"Hello! My name is Li Yue. Nice to meet you!"

Li Yue didn't expect to find a girl who seemed to be in her twenties inside the helicopter but greeted her politely.

"Hello! I'm Lin Yurou. Mr. Li Yue, I've just become your biggest fan! Your Kamehameha wave was so cool and powerful, taking down that monster in one move. It was incredible! And that teleportation trick you just did, was that Instant Transmission?"

"Are you really a Super Saiyan? Do you know Goku? Or Master Roshi, Krillin, Tien?"

...

Li Yue didn't expect Lin Yurou to be an anime enthusiast. Her barrage of questions, including asking if he was a Super Saiyan and if he knew Goku, left him speechless.

"This girl has quite an imagination, thinking I'm a Super Saiyan!" Li Yue thought.

"Ahem, Miss Lin Yurou, I think you're mistaken. I'm not a Super Saiyan, and I don't know Goku or Master Roshi."

"But how is that possible? Your move looked exactly like the Kamehameha! If you're not a Super Saiyan, how did you do it?" Lin Yurou asked, eyes wide with disbelief.

"Who said only Super Saiyans can use the Kamehameha?"

...

"Let's head back to the base," Lin Zhenguo, seeing the lively conversation between the mysterious man and Lin Yurou, ordered the helicopter pilot without taking offense at being ignored by Li Yue.

"Understood, General!" The pilot responded, changing course towards the base.

"His name is Li Yue? So, he's Chinese? That's great news!"

Listening to the conversation between the mysterious man and Lin Yurou, Lin Zhenguo, though confused by some terms, gleaned useful information about Li Yue. If this compelling individual, capable of defeating a Category IV kaiju, were indeed Chinese, it would make further interactions much more accessible.

Moreover, his intervention to stop the monster from wreaking havoc on the city indicated a kind-hearted nature.

...

While Lin Zhenguo was gathering information about Li Yue, Li Yue also observed Lin Zhenguo, pondering the differences from the original story, where the commander was a Black man. However, he quickly rationalized it—since the movie was American, it wouldn't feature a Chinese commander for the Jaeger program. But realistically, it made sense for a Chinese military leader to guard Hong Kong.

...

"Alright, we've arrived. Mr. Li Yue, welcome to the Broken Dome Base!"
