Chapter 85: Chapter 085: War Begins, Dark World!
Rumor has it that when all six Infinity Stones are brought together, they possess the greatest power in the universe—capable of granting almost any wish to their wielder.
Each stone represents a fundamental aspect of existence: Space, Time, Reality, Power, Mind, and Soul.
However, the Infinity Stones are scattered across the universe, and some are fiercely guarded by powerful entities. Collecting all six is no easy task.
To obtain some of these stones, one might have to pay a steep price. Yet, despite the risks, countless beings across the universe are still eager to claim them.
Fortunately, Luo Bai had already collected four of them.
Although the combined power of the six Infinity Stones would grow exponentially when gathered together, Luo Bai wasn't in a hurry to complete the set.
After all, with his luck, it was only a matter of time before someone conveniently delivered the remaining stones to his doorstep, sparing him the trouble of searching for them.
For now, his priority was determining whether he could fully absorb the energy of the stones he already possessed.
The power contained within the Infinity Stones was immense.
Ordinary beings couldn't control their energy, which was why the Infinity Gauntlet was needed as a conduit to harness their combined strength.
But even with the gauntlet, most people couldn't withstand the sheer force of the six Infinity Stones.
Now, Luo Bai intended to absorb their power directly—without using the Infinity Gauntlet.
This made him a little uneasy.
It wasn't that he doubted his ability to absorb their energy, but rather, he was unsure if his body could endure it.
To test his limits, he decided to start with the Time Stone.
As soon as he prepared to absorb its power, the Faerie energy within him grew restless.
It whispered in his mind, urging him on:
"Hurry! Swallow them! Swallow them all in one go!!"
Its eagerness was overwhelming.
Fortunately, Luo Bai maintained control over himself.
To ensure no one interrupted him, he first sealed himself within the Mirror Dimension.
Then, he opened the Eye of Agamotto and guided the Faerie energy to slowly analyze, understand, and absorb the power of the Time Stone.
The green glow of temporal energy seeped into his body, merging with him as the Faerie power carefully assimilated it.
After a while, Luo Bai noticed something surprising—he felt no discomfort.
It was likely due to the influence of the Faerie power.
As its host, Luo Bai had initially suppressed the Faerie energy, preventing it from fully integrating with him. Since the energy had a will of its own, their synchronization had never reached 100%.
But now, after this period of adjustment, Luo Bai realized that he and the Faerie power had finally fused completely.
This discovery reassured him.
Without hesitation, he released the Faerie power and consumed the Time Stone entirely.
The moment it was devoured, the stone erupted with immense energy, triggering a reaction from the Reality Stone's Tai particles within his body.
They "protested" against the sudden surge of power, but the Faerie energy quickly subdued and absorbed the excess energy.
Luo Bai closed his eyes, meditating to stabilize the power.
After an unknown amount of time, the Time Stone's energy finally settled within him.
Encouraged by his success, he moved on to the second stone.
The process was similar, except for an additional step—decomposition.
He first extracted the Infinity Stone from its original "container" before integrating it into his body.
Time blurred as he repeated the process.
One by one, he absorbed, refined, and integrated each Infinity Stone.
Until, at last, all the stones were fully merged into his body.
No unexpected outbursts. No uncontrollable surges.
Everything was stable.
Luo Bai let out a breath and canceled the Mirror Dimension.
Just as he did, a knock sounded at the door.
Boom, boom, boom…
Boom, boom, boom…
The knocking on the door was thunderous, echoing through the room.
Hearing the noise, Luo Bai immediately knew who it was.
When he opened the door, sure enough, Thor was standing outside.
As soon as the door swung open, Thor grumbled, "You've been locked up in this room for an entire week! If my father hadn't told me not to disturb you, I would've smashed the door down just to check if something had happened to you."
Luo Bai leaned against the doorway and asked calmly, "What's the rush? What do you need?"
Thor sighed helplessly. "I don't need anything. It's the maids. They've been bringing you food every day, but you never respond when they knock. Eventually, they came to me, worried that something was wrong. So I came to check. Do you even need to eat?"
Luo Bai remained silent.
At the moment, he felt a constant hunger—but not for food. What he needed was energy, not ordinary sustenance.
After thinking for a moment, he simply replied, "I've already eaten."
Thor frowned. "You have? Then where did you eat? You haven't left this room once."
Luo Bai didn't answer. Instead, he just smiled.
In the next second, the scene shifted.
Thor, who had been standing in the doorway, suddenly found himself sitting inside the room.
A large beer mug had mysteriously appeared in his hand.
"Care for a drink?" Luo Bai asked casually.
"???"
Thor glanced at the mug, bewildered. "A bar?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the previously empty mug was magically filled with frothy beer.
"???"
Thor's confusion deepened.
He stared at the drink in his hand, his face practically screaming, What the hell? Where did this beer come from? Is this even real?
Curious, he took a sip.
Good stuff.
It was real beer.
"This is how you get your food?" Thor asked, narrowing his eyes. "Using that magic you mentioned… to conjure it?"
"Exactly," Luo Bai replied smoothly.
Before Thor could say anything else, Luo Bai changed the subject. "By the way, is there anything happening in Asgard lately?"
"Asgard is fine. Nothing major has happened. And even if something did, Heimdall would be the first to know," Thor said confidently.
Heimdall—the God of Dawn.
The guardian of the Bifröst, Heimdall possessed the all-seeing Eye of Heimdall, allowing him to perceive nearly everything across the Nine Realms.
If anything serious occurred, Heimdall would detect it immediately.
Since there were no disturbances in the Dark World, Luo Bai decided to resume his meditation and continue integrating the energy of the Infinity Stones.
With four different energies residing within him, it would take time to fully harmonize them.
For now, he was merely suppressing their power to keep them from reacting unpredictably.
With that in mind, Luo Bai asked, "Thor, do you need anything else? If not, I'd like to rest for a while."
Thor hesitated. "Well, it's not like I have anything else to—"
Before he could finish, a sudden commotion erupted outside the door.
Thor frowned and muttered, "Why is it so noisy out there?"
"Because the Dark Elf army is here," Luo Bai said flatly.
His gaze sharpened as he looked into the distance, his vision piercing through countless obstacles.
Beyond Asgard's defenses, on the Rainbow Bridge, the Dark Elf army was already attacking.
