Chapter 89: Ch 82: Another Hitler
This alien invasion was a complete farce, orchestrated by Erik. The ginormous sparkly, orange portal was created by [Resurrected] Dr. Strange.
The citizens killed or still running around in the city were all the soldiers of his [Ressurected] army from the Marvel Zombie universe, the real citizens (About 2000 in population) were already evacuated in the safe zones with false memories planted in them using mind stone and Wanda's powers.
The Chitaurians were real though. He had enough to conquer Earth dozens of times. And he could use [Resurrect] skill on them too if they died.
The news channels airing the devastating invasion were filled with new hope as they saw the scene of their military general arriving and the army beginning to fight against the invading aliens equipped with jetpacks and futuristic laser guns.

It took the Avengers and X-Men about forty-five minutes to reach the outskirts of Novi Grad, the capital of Sokovia and the epicenter of the invasion.
Just as they neared the city, their craft slowed, and the view from the ship's windshield was both horrifying and eerily familiar.
Buildings were being reduced to rubble, and streets were littered with debris, abandoned vehicles, and dead citizens.
The Chitauri forces swarmed like locusts, their monstrous leviathans roaring as they moved through the city, leaving destruction in their wake.
Tony got into his suit and jumped out of the Blackbird. The suit fell freely for a moment and then the thrusters lit up, propelling him instantaneously.
However...
He couldn't move forward...
A powerful invisible force had grabbed him, freezing him in the high altitude.
"J.A.R.V.I.S, what's happening?" Tony asked his AI, there was an evident surprise in his voice.
"[Sir, I suspect we're caught by a powerful telekinetic force. The culprit might be the one behind you. His outfit matches perfectly with the telekinetic man who attacked you a year ago.]"
Javris showed Tony the image of a man in all-black clothing and a visor, floating behind him with his right arm pointed forward.
Tony noticed that the blackbird couldn't move forward too. Both the ship and his suit then descended on the ground at a dangerously fast speed.
"Jarvis, Flares!"
A compartment of his suit near his hips opened up revealing dozens of explosives and they all shot out towards the levitating man in all black. However, even after the explosion the figure didn't even flinched.
"{{Stark, what's happening! Can you hear us?}}", Hank's voice came from the Suit's speakers.
"Uh, it seems, the telekinetic skinny arms guy who attacked me last time has bulked up a bit. I need backup... the red-haired chick with Telekinesis will be helpfu—"
"Stark, wait!" Hank suddenly interrupted, "Don't attack, Charles says he knows that guy, we should hear him out."
After forcing both Iron Man and the Blackbird to land on the ground, Erik revealed his face, his Visor disappearing in a dark, purplish vortex.
The area where he forced them to land was a relatively safe region, a bit far from the fight, near the evacuation center.
A group of citizens and a few reporters stood a bit far away, observing with a bit of hate in their eyes. They hated all Americans without discriminating.
"You are violating international boundaries," he said, his voice carrying a weight of command. "Leave at once."
"Americans go away! Americans go away!"
"Go back, Americans! Go back, Americans!" The mob shouted.
But as Erik raised his hand, they quieted down.
Steve Rogers, who had just disembarked from the Blackbird, stepped forward, his shield at the ready but lowered as a sign of goodwill. "It's not the time to argue about such things, Mr. Anderson. Your city is under attack, we can help. We know more about the enemy than anyone else in this world."
Internally, Erik rolled his eyes, 'I literally have a Chitauri breeding chamber and he says he knows more about them than me... oh, well, it's not their fault. They don't know me.'
Narrowing his eyes, Erik said, "And does your help include bombing our cities with bombs again?"
"Not at all, my boy, you misunderstand" Charles intervened, thinking his prior acquaintance would benefit him. "We are not the American government, we are X-Men and Avengers, the defenders of Earth."
"Sokovia has its own defenders, the Army. Besides..."
A few Sokovian soldiers with jetpacks and thin exo-suits tore off Stark's missile attached beneath the Blackbird and dropped it between Erik and the Avengers...
"Sir, this is a Jericho 3.0 missile, a Stark Industries missile." One of the soldiers reported.
Erik nodded and turned to Charles again, "...Your words are not that trustworthy after you brought such a weapon of mass destruction into our land.."
"That..." Scott gritted his teeth, "Tony Stark brought it here. And we only meant to launch it at the portal!"
"Your words are not believable at all. As a person with the second highest authority, here, I ask you to leave without conflict." Erik said, "You're wasting our time."
Tony scoffed, his faceplate retracting to reveal his incredulous expression. "Look around, Darth Vader. This place is a war zone. If we don't intervene, there won't be much of Sokovia left to defend."
"Eirikyr, son, you don't understand," Charles finally decided to use the words that were sure to gain Eirikyr's attention, "Sokovia is not only in danger from that alien invasion. Right now, it's also a target of nuclear strikes from multiple nations. We barely have an hour left before they nuke the city in fear of the invasion escalating out of hand."
Charles repeated the words of the World Security Council.
"Did you hear that, citizen of Sokovia?" Erik said in the native Sokovian language, "The Americans have brought missiles to destroy our civilians along with the aliens and are warning to launch nuclear missiles if we don't let them do so. How is this fair? Do we let them do whatever they want again? No! Sokovians are not afraid anymore! We no longer let the world walk all over us anymore! We fight! We fight for sovereignty!"
The people cheered and shouted anti-American slogans again.
Just then they heard a loud explosion near the portal, and the next instant, the sparky portal began to shrink.
"Looks like 'we' handled it on our own," Erik smirked, "I think now you people really have no reason to be here any longer, now, leave!"
"See! This is the power of the Sokovian military!" Erik's jet pack lit up again and he moved near the public, "The world shall know the power of a true leader! Hail, Wanda Maximoff!" Erik shouted like a true minion of Thanos.
The public cheered.
The Avengers and X-Men stood silently as the cheers for Wanda Maximoff filled the surroundings. Stark observed as the telekinetic guy who could fly at whim used a measly jetpack in front of the people...
Tony turned to Steve, "Darth Vader's planning something nasty, I just know it. Jarvis just analyzed everything that happened in this nation since that little girl became the military general of this nation, and they are all too systematic."
With a sigh, Tony turned to Steve, "A way to boost her image."
A wave of serious and righteous anger filled Steve, he was familiar with this kind of politics — Hitler was the same. "It's a long-term gaslighting campaign via news and media.
"To take over a nation using the public as a shield. "Natasha, who was listening, added as she glanced towards the Sokovian public happily cheering for Wanda.
