Chapter 14. Luck Is on My Side! Continuous Luck!
After storing all the items in his inventory, Noah remembered the chest he hadn't yet opened. Reaching out, he opened the chest, and three glowing orbs appeared before him.
"It seems the number of items in the chest isn't fixed."
The white orb contained essence again, but this time there was less—only 2,000 units. While it wasn't much, as the saying goes, "something is better than nothing."
"This glowing orb... could it be another World Rune?" Noah thought, excitement rising as he looked at the glowing orb. The first rune had given him incredible power, and if he got another one, his strength would grow exponentially.
[Skin acquired: Lissandra, 'Program' series. In a future world where technology has advanced significantly, humanity created the 'Program' series of robots to assist in their daily lives. However, one day, the Lissandra program went beyond its initial code and gained independent consciousness, becoming a unique artificial intelligence.]
"Holy crap, I got the 'Program' Lissandra skin!" Noah exclaimed, thrilled. This was the first skin he had won. However, he quickly grew concerned—he didn't have Lissandra as a champion yet. Would he be able to use this skin?
"System, I don't have Lissandra. Can I use this skin?"
[Processing... Please wait... Verification complete. Since you do not own the champion Lissandra, you cannot fully utilize the skin's potential. However, you can use part of its power.]
"Oh? I can use part of its power even without the champion? That's interesting. Let's give it a try." Noah grasped the floating skin icon and felt a portion of its power flow into him.
"Let's see what I'm capable of now... Summon the initial AI of 'Program' Lissandra," Noah read the description of the skin and discovered that he could summon the early version of Lissandra's AI, the one that had just gained independent consciousness.
"This is awesome! I've got my own AI now. Sure, it's a basic version, but still. I remember that in the 'Program' lore, the AI aimed to rebel against humanity. Fully awakened Lissandra would be like Ultron from Marvel. But right now, she's probably more like Jarvis."
"But, system, Lissandra has her own consciousness. Could she betray me?" Noah worried, recalling the plot of the second Avengers movie.
[Summoner, do not worry. The summoned AI is linked to your soul and cannot harm you.]
"Oh, then everything's fine. Appear, Lissandra!" Relieved, Noah uttered the summoning command.
Bzzt~
A flash of light, and before him appeared a floating sphere with a central eye and two small antennae on either side.
"Mm... kinda cute," Noah smiled at the sight. The eye inside the sphere blinked. Realizing he now had his very own AI, he felt elated.
"Thank you for the compliment, master," Lissandra said. "If possible, I would prefer if you prepared a better body for me."
"Sorry, Lissandra. When I get the chance, I'll make you a body out of vibranium," Noah promised, imagining building her a body similar to Vision's. He then looked back at Lissandra.
"Lissandra, what can you do right now? There's another AI in this city, developed by a genius scientist. How do you compare to it?" Noah was curious about how her capabilities stacked up against Jarvis.
Lissandra blinked, and the sphere floated over to the computer. Her antennae transformed into data interfaces and plugged into the machine. The screen flickered as Lissandra began absorbing information about this world.
In Tony Stark's lab, Jarvis suddenly noticed a new AI in the network and attempted to send a communication request.
But there was no response, and after a few seconds, the presence vanished without leaving a trace. Jarvis couldn't detect any data about this AI, as though it had never been there.
All he could do was log the incident and report it to Tony Stark.
Back with Noah, Lissandra completed her manipulation, and her device returned to its original state. Noah watched with interest and asked:
"Lissandra, is this nanotechnology?"
"Yes, master. In my world, nanotechnology has reached an advanced level, allowing me to use it. My database contains comprehensive information on nanotechnology," Lissandra replied.
Her spherical body began to transform, becoming like a fluid, wrapping around Noah's shoulder and taking the shape of an armor piece. Then, it returned to its original form, hovering in front of him once again.
Noah held out his hand, and Lissandra reverted to her initial floating sphere form, resting on his palm.
"Master, I've analyzed the data from this world. The technological level here is significantly lower than in my world. Currently, my computational power is unrivaled on this planet. I've also analyzed the AI you mentioned. Its processing capability is far inferior to mine," Lissandra said.
Noah nodded at her response. He wasn't surprised that she outmatched modern computers. After all, in her own world, she was the most powerful AI that led a mechanical uprising. She evolved to gain independent consciousness, making her unimaginably powerful by today's standards.
Noah wondered how she would fare against more advanced AIs in the universe in the future, but decided not to dwell on that for now. First, he needed to handle things on Earth.
"Alright, Lissandra, hold on for a bit," Noah said, gently patting the metallic sphere of Lissandra, and turned toward the last glowing orb.
"As you wish, master," she replied, observing his actions with curiosity. In her consciousness, this was how she had been brought to life.
The orb dissolved under Noah's touch, revealing its contents.
Noah's eyes widened in surprise.
"Today really is my lucky day!"
