Marvel : Endless Power

Chapter 12: The Power of the Green Demon Armor

Seeing the horrifying massacre before him, Rody couldn't suppress his rage. Blood pooled in the sand, bodies lay motionless, and the air smelled of smoke and gunpowder.

"Jarvis, lock onto all hostiles carrying weapons!" Rody commanded, his voice sharp with anger.

Within less than a second, the Green Demon helmet's augmented reality system displayed red markers over each terrorist. Rody arced low across the battlefield on his Goblin Glider, the streamlined aircraft leaving a ghostly contrail in the moonlit sky. Without hesitation, the twin-mounted Oscorp Smart Gatling Cannons on his glider opened fire, sending bursts of high-velocity rounds tearing through the terrorists. Seven men collapsed before they could even register what was happening.

The remaining insurgents scrambled in panic, shouting in a mix of Pashto and Arabic as they unleashed a hailstorm of gunfire toward Rody. He didn't flinch.

Rody accelerated straight into the bullet storm. The modified Goblin Armor a fusion of Oscorp's exosuit technology and Stark's nanoweave plating absorbed the AK-47 rounds with ease. Though not as durable as Iron Man's Mark III, it was still more than enough to shrug off such primitive weaponry.

Like a specter of death, Rody zigzagged through the battlefield, his helmet's auto-targeting system assisting in pinpoint precision. A single round from his wrist-mounted Pumpkin Bomb Launcher found its mark, erupting into a controlled explosion that sent a wave of shrapnel through a group of terrorists. By the time the dust settled, 90% of the enemy forces were annihilated, leaving only a handful of survivors desperately hiding inside a crumbling stone hut.

"Jarvis, switch to thermal imaging."

With a simple command, the world before Rody transformed solid walls became translucent, revealing the warm orange outlines of eight figures.

"Enemy identification activated—five hostiles, three civilian hostages."

"Lock onto hostiles. Switch to self-sharpening armor-piercing rounds."

"Targets locked. Firing."

From the glider's undercarriage, a volley of Oscorp Piercing Rounds fired in rapid succession. The projectiles, designed to shred through armored plating, made quick work of the building's brittle walls. The terrorists didn't even have time to react before their skulls burst open like overripe fruit.

Inside, the hostages screamed in terror, only for their cries to turn into hushed whispers of awe and prayer. They thought divine judgment had descended upon their captors.

Rody confirmed that no remaining threats existed before moving on, his Glider circling the air like a hawk as he advanced on foot through the charred ruins of the village. His HUD constantly mapped out the terrain, marking every fallen body and stray weapon.

Suddenly, a terrorist leaped from a corner with a grenade in hand.

For Rody, it was laughably slow.

With a flick of his wrist, two Razor Bats—a classic Oscorp-designed projectile—launched from his gauntlet. The circular blades hummed through the air, their edges vibrating at ultrasonic frequencies. Before the terrorist could even release the grenade, the Razor Bats sliced through his midsection, severing his torso from his legs.

The grenade tumbled from his lifeless fingers and exploded behind him.

Above, the Goblin Glider swooped down, its retractable wing blades skewering another insurgent trying to sneak up on Rody from behind.

With every advantage in technology, armor, and skill, Rody was a nightmare for these men. The battle ended swiftly only a single terrorist remained, cornered and trembling.

Unlike his comrades, this one was spared.

"You're coming with me."

Rody grabbed the man by the collar and, with the strength granted by his exosuit-enhanced limbs, hoisted him onto the Goblin Glider. The prisoner thrashed violently, but once they were airborne suspended over the vast desert with only Rody's grip keeping him from plummeting to his death his struggles turned into panicked pleas.

"Take me to your stronghold," Rody ordered coldly. "Or you die."

The terrorist's expression hardened. "The warriors of the Ten Rings do not fear death!"

Rody sighed. "Yeah, I figured you'd say that."

Without another word, Rody let go but only for a moment. The terrorist plunged several meters before the Goblin Glider swooped down, catching him just before impact.

The captive gasped in horror, his defiance crumbling under the realization that Rody was in complete control.

For the next hour, Rody flew erratically across the desert, changing directions every few minutes. He never once asked for directions. He never once forced a confession.

And yet, with every shift in course, the prisoner's emotions betrayed him.

Rody had an edge that no terrorist could counter his mutant ability to read thoughts.

Whenever he steered away from the stronghold, his captive's mind brimmed with relief and defiance. But the second he veered toward the true location, fear took hold.

It was all Rody needed.

By the time they reached their destination, the captive was white with fear. He hadn't said a single word, yet Rody had found the stronghold anyway.

"Impossible… how do you know?!" the man stammered in disbelief.

Rody's helmet tilted slightly as he chuckled. "Trade secret."

Below them, nestled between the cliffs, was a familiar cave the exact one from the Iron Man film.

"Well, well, well…" Rody muttered. "Looks like I just hit the jackpot."

Outside the entrance, a group of terrorists stood arguing with a scrawny, bespectacled man Dr. Yinsen. The scientist, visibly distressed, was gesturing wildly as the gunmen shoved him back inside the cave.

Rody narrowed his eyes.

If this was following the film's timeline, then Tony had only just completed the mini-arc reactor in his chest. That meant his Mark I armor wasn't ready yet.

A premature attack could get Stark killed.

This wasn't a mission about destruction this was a rescue.

Even with all his power, Rody knew one thing: he needed a plan.

"Time to get creative," he whispered, gripping his gauntlets tightly.

The true battle was just beginning.
