Chapter 67: Ch. 66 - The Great War! [3]
"You need my help for construction?" Serafall raised her eyebrows, repeating my request for her.
"Yep, it's nothing much really. It's just that humans aren't currently capable of fulfilling my demand. So I hope that devils might." I nodded my head, clarifying.
"Why didn't you said it in the first place?" Serafall growled, still on about the incident earlier.
"My bad. Hey, I can't be at fault here, you're the one who hung up on me in the first place. If you didn't, I wouldn't have portal myself in your room." I shrugged my shoulders, quite nonchalant about the matter.
"Then why in my room of all places!" Serafall refuted, making me silent.
Actually, she's right about that. I just felt like it would be much faster that way and besides, I don't feel like meeting her parents for now, especially after the lie we pulled a few months ago.
"So, it's just capable devil architects and workers that you need?" Serafall then said, finally changing the topic herself, much to my relief.
"Yes." I nodded my head.
"Heh, then you're asking the wrong person." Serafall said with a smug tone while crossing her arms.
Seriously? She won't drop the matter?
"….Sigh, then who do I need to ask for it then?" I replied with a sigh.
"From what I know, the Gremory clan are affiliated with a few famous architectures, their territory has one of the best structural designs in the Underworld." Serafall wasted no time responding, mentioning the clan of the red-haired man that popped up from my memory.
The main character in this world.
'Oh God, please anyone but that man!' My face scrunched up after hearing the surname of the person I'll ask for help.
"Don't worry! As long as he knows I was the one who recommended you, he'll even give you a huge discount!" Seeing my expression, Serafall misunderstood and assured me, even winking her left eye on the process.
"Yes…Thanks, I guess." I mentally sighed, I guess I would have to resort to asking that guy's help.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have any negative feeling against the man, it's just that I could feel a weird vibes emanating from Sirzechs, don't even mention his destructive aura thanks to his mother's devil trait that he inherited.
Thankfully Serafall insisted on joining me to submit my request to Sirzechs, giving me at least a sense of security.
***
Sirzechs, the man, the myth and the legend, was busy doing paperwork related to his family businesses.
At a young age, his father, Zeoticus, has already passed some of his small businesses from their territories and others to him, to train him as the heir of the clan.
Although his mother told him that Zeoticus has grown jealous of him due to the fact that he's stronger than him and better at him when it comes to handling family business, Zeoticus still values the family's financial and economical growth, not letting his emotions drive his decisions.
So now. Sirzechs was signing some papers concerning allocation of funds in their construction business departments.
Sirzechs finished the paperworks, he sighed in relief and proceeded to lean on his chair, stretching his strained limbs.
Just as he was done, the door to his office was suddenly smashed open.
"Zechy!~" A wild Serafall appeared, rushing inside and circling around Sirzechs's table.
Following inside was a familiar face, Chamber, the first devil-reincarnated human.
"What…are you doing here, Serafall?" Sirzechs's eye twitched several times, forcing a strained smile to welcome the two of them.
"I'm engaged and Chamber's my fiancee!"
"PFFFTTT!! KAKH! KHAK!" Chamber, who was about to stand on the sidelines and let Serafall handle and talk, suddenly choked on his own spit.
"Oh really!" For some reason, Sirzechs's smile looks like he was more happy than Serafall.
'Why do you look like as if you're the one who got engaged?' Chamber couldn't help but mutter to himself.
"That's great! When's the wedding?" Sirzechs clapped his hands and asked.
Before Serafall could answer his question, I immediately cut off in the middle, interrupting their discussion.
"Ahem! I'm sorry but Serafall and me are here for another reason." Chamber said with an apologetic smile before turning to Serafall behind him and whispered.
"That's not what we came here for remember?" Once I was done, I saw her eyes go wide before smiling.
"Oh right. I'm sorry, hehe~"
'Sigh!'
"He's right! We're actually here not to discuss my engagement which will occur maybe after the Great War, instead, to offer you a great deal!" Serafall grinned while pointing her finger at Sirzechs.
"Deal? What kind of deal?" Sirzechs immediately went on full businessman mode as he leaned forward and used his knuckles to support his chin.
"I'm interested." He continued with a smile.
"Good! My Fiancee here wanted something to be built but his demands are too high for humans to achieve. So maybe yours can?" Serafall smiled and said.
"Hmm….Do you have the blueprint?" Sirzechs asked first.
Serafall, clueless to what it is, turned her head to Chamber for help.
Chamber sighed and pulled a rolled paper out of a portal and handed it to him.
Sirzechs went ahead to grab it and unrolled it, reading its contents for a few minutes.
"This can be done in a single day."
"In a single day? Are you serious?" Chamber's eyes widened in surprise, not expecting it to be that fast.
"Of course. Unlike humans, magic spells can greatly contribute to construction and such." Sirzechs explained, then further goes into detail that went beyond a whole minute.
Realizing that he's been rambling about how great their construction business workers and architects are, Sirzechs cleared his throat and blushed out of embarrassment.
"I'm sorry, I got a bit carried away." Sirzechs chuckled and grabbed the blueprint that Chamber gave him.
"Consider it done. And don't worry, you don't have to pay, it's on the house, deem it as being part of the Anti-Satan faction." Before saying the last part, Sirzechs slightly leaned forward and whispered.
After all, the entire faction, even just the name itself is considered treason and the punishment would no doubt be death.
Hearing his words, Chamber sighed in relief before thanking the red-haired man.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome. Just tell me the exact details and we'll finish it before the day is done."
After writing down the details such as the location, materials he wanted, and etc, Serafall and Chamber finally left Sirzechs's office, much to the relief of Sirzechs.
***
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Raising his eyebrow, Chamber asked Serafall, who has been staring at him with expectant eyes.
They just got back to the Sitri territory, then to her room and now she's looking at him as if he owed her millions of cash.
"Aren't you going to thank the great Serafall who helped you?" She said with a smug tone, crossing her arms under her bosom, making it look bigger than usual.
"…Thanks." Staring at it for a few seconds, Chamber shook his head and thanked the girl.
Serafall, however, instead of being satisfied, she simply just pouted at him.
"What now?" His eyes twitched.
"Mouu! I want a reward! Give me a reward!" She then started to throw a tantrum like a child.
Chamber, in a panic, extended his hand forward and patted her head, causing Serafall to stop and close her eyes, acting like a docile cat unlike when she was throwing a tantrum earlier.
'This girl.' Chamber sighed and they stayed like this for a few minutes until Serafall started snoring.
'How can you even sleep while standing?' He whispered under his breath as Chamber swooped Serafall in his embrace before carrying her to her bed like a princess.
'First, the children and now Serafall. Who else am I going to tuck in on their beds today?' Sighing, Chamber was about to leave when suddenly, he stopped in his tracks and stared at Serafall's sleeping face.
"You look beautiful when you're sleeping…." He muttered lightly and was about to conjure a portal back to the farmhouse when instantly, a hand grabbed his neck and pulled him back on the bed, burying the back of his head to a soft pillow.
Or is it really a pillow?
"Mister Poodles~ you're back." Chamber heard Serafall mutter to her sleep, calling out an unfamiliar pet name.
'Either a pet or a teddy bear.' Chamber guessed in his mind.
For some reason, despite sleeping, her strength is nk joke. As an Ultimate-class devil, Serafall is stronger than him physically.
As a result to this, Chamber was unable to free himself from her arms, forcing him to give up.
'How troublesome…' Without anything else to do, Chamber, despite his heart against in being taken advantage like this, inched to the edge of the bed, being careful not to wake Serafall up.
For some reason, Chamber felt extreme comfort in her bed, or more like the pillows he was laying his head on.
Before he could realize it, his eyes slowly blinked several times, his vision suddenly darkens as he fell into a deep slumber, too comforted by the mattress of the bed and the 'pillow'.
What Chamber failed to notice however, was when he closed his eyes to sleep, someone opened them.
Serafall grinned to herself as she pulls herself down, pushing her further into Chamber, taking a whiff of his scent as she snuggled into his nape.
"He called me beautiful…Hehe~." She muttered to herself before falling into slumber too.
As the light outside basked the room inside, one would see two figures lying on the bed, with one hugging the other. Some might mistake the two for a wife and husband.

[It's quite a boring and short chapter, I know. But like what people used to say, there is calm before the storm.]
[By the way, the Great War arc would take long and then there would be a Civil War arc which won't be as long of course but after those, a very huge Time-Skip will happen.]
