Chapter 234: Chapter 234: Assembly
The fleet of warships on Earth's outer orbit was quickly detected by the department responsible for observing the universe.
When the images of these massive ships were projected onto the big screen, the once-busy monitoring room fell into a sudden silence. Everyone held their breath, frozen in shock as they stared at the scene before them.
Moments later, the room erupted into chaos.
"Oh my god, what are those?!"
"Dear lord, is Earth doomed? Are those aircraft carriers?"
Suspended in the cold, lifeless void of space were two colossal warships, each stretching over a thousand meters in length and hundreds of meters wide. In comparison, Earth's largest cruise ship was only about 370 meters long and 63 meters wide.
A ship of that size was practically a floating city, equipped with everything one could imagine. And now, they were looking at not one but two warships far larger than Earth's biggest cruise liner—how could they not be stunned?
"We should contact higher authorities. This is way beyond our jurisdiction."
Someone hesitantly suggested. This was the kind of crisis meant for people like the Avengers. All they could do was watch.
Meanwhile, in Wakanda, Han Yu and his team had also noticed the anomaly. It wasn't just them—ordinary people could see it too. Even from the ground, several dark silhouettes were clearly visible in the distant sky, hovering ominously.
They knew that if something was visible to the naked eye from Earth's surface, it had to be of an enormous scale. The sudden appearance of these dark spots was not something the Wakandans would dismiss as random marks left by a celestial Photoshop session.
Given what Han Yu had just explained, this had to be the invaders—the ones coming to seize the Infinity Stones.
"King T'Chaka, Wakanda must have emergency shelters. Begin evacuating the people immediately and activate the energy shield. We need to prepare for all possibilities," Han Yu instructed.
T'Chaka nodded gravely. This situation was far beyond anything he had expected. In hindsight, he felt fortunate that Han Yu had come to them.
An attack of this magnitude—being forewarned gave them a chance to prepare. If they had been caught off guard, they wouldn't even know how they died.
"Ultron, summon all available Green Lantern Corps members. Have them gather in Wakanda."
"Understood."
Ultron nodded and used his Green Lantern ring to send a summons to the other ring-bearers.
About ten minutes later, a dozen streaks of emerald light shot up from various locations, all converging toward one destination—Wakanda.
The Avengers had also received the news. Aside from Stark, the rest—including Captain America—had assembled, immediately shifting into battle mode upon learning of the situation.
"Banner, why are you here? The Hulk refuses to come out anymore, so you can't fight, can you?"
Seeing Bruce Banner among them, Captain America was puzzled. Ever since the Hulk lost control last time, the Green Goliath had all but vanished from public sight.
His presence no longer instilled a sense of security—only fear.
Even the Hulk, with his childlike mindset, understood this, which was why he chose to stay hidden. Banner had tried to communicate with him, but the only response he ever got was two simple words:
"Not coming."
Even when Banner was overwhelmed by anger, the Hulk never emerged.
Unless Banner was in real danger—his life directly at risk—the Hulk wouldn't come out.
Earth despised him, and he despised Earth. As long as he remained on this planet, the chances of him appearing were slim.
Banner let out a bitter smile and said, "Yeah, he's not coming out anymore. But I still need to atone for my mistakes, don't I? I can fight using Stark's Hulkbuster armor—he agreed to it long ago."
Captain America opened his mouth, wanting to say, "It's okay, no one blames you." But as soon as he started speaking, he stopped.
No one blames him?
That was nonsense.
The online ranking of the most disliked Avengers was still up, and despite all this time, Hulk remained at the top.
Steve knew he had no right to stand on moral high ground and tell those who lost their loved ones because of Hulk's rampage to just "let it go and move on."
"If you haven't suffered as they have, don't lecture them on forgiveness."
He understood this well. So, though he opened his mouth, he ultimately said nothing.
Banner was a victim too. From the beginning, he had always been passive—nothing that happened was ever his choice. Seeing him reduced to this state was truly lamentable.
In the end, Captain America simply nodded and remained silent.
"Where's Han Yu?" Banner asked.
"He's already in Wakanda. He plans to set the battlefield there."
As a Green Lantern ring bearer, Captain America had also received the message Ultron had just sent out. Knowing the full picture helped him stay much calmer than the others.
Ultron had also provided information about Wakanda's technological advancements through the Green Lantern ring. Unlike normal communication, messages transmitted via the ring didn't require the recipient to read them with their eyes.
Once the ring bearer accepted the transmission, the information would appear in their mind as if it were a personal memory—almost as if they had experienced it themselves.
This memory-sharing system adapted to the sender's intent; they could control how much information they wanted the recipient to know.
It wasn't just about taking a memory snippet and sending it over. It was more like editing a video—cutting key clips from one's memory and packaging them into a short sequence for the recipient. This method allowed for quick and efficient understanding of a situation.
After all, some things couldn't be explained in just a few words. Rather than rambling on and on, this kind of instant knowledge transfer was far more effective.
"Got it. Let's move out to Wakanda immediately."
Hearing about Wakanda's advanced technology, the Avengers were briefly surprised but quickly snapped back to action. Time was of the essence—the sooner they got there, the better.
In Wakanda, Han Yu stood before the assembled Green Lantern Corps members, his gaze sweeping across them.
Most of them appeared to be in their thirties, each exuding a unique presence—clear proof that they were top-tier talents in their respective fields.
Just as he was sizing them up, they were also scrutinizing him.
This was their first time meeting the Grand Commander of the Green Lantern Corps. None of them had expected him to be so young. He looked like an inexperienced rookie who hadn't been through much.
Yet, despite being under the watchful eyes of so many, Han Yu remained completely at ease, radiating an air of absolute confidence.
