Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Friendship as a Transaction

Mephisto didn't quite catch it. "What did you just say?"

Han Yu shook his head slightly. "Nothing important. Let's get to the point—I don't want to waste time. So, what will it take for you to release Hela?"

Mephisto's long, jet-black nails lightly scratched the surface of his cup, producing an unsettling sound that sent chills down their spines. His eyes flickered as he replied, "You killed my child in the mortal world, and now you're here asking for my help. Don't you think that's a bit inappropriate?"

"What's inappropriate? Someone like you actually cares about that?" Han Yu smirked calmly.

"Heh. I think you've misunderstood, Mr. Han. That was my flesh and blood…" Mephisto paused briefly, as if lost in thought, before continuing, "You'll need to pay extra."

Han Yu rolled his eyes. All that talk, and it boiled down to money. He could've just said that outright. Flesh and blood? Please. A demon like Mephisto, devoid of human emotions, actually cherishing something like that?

Besides, this so-called "child" was likely something he conjured through some obscure means, nothing like how humans conceive. Mephisto's offspring were essentially self-produced—he was practically hermaphroditic.

And because of this, he could see the limits of his creations' abilities at a glance, which took away much of the fun.

That's why he'd set his sights on Hela. If Mephisto and Hela were to have a child, it would undoubtedly be another great demon.

To put it into perspective, across the Nine Realms, there was only one great demon—Mephisto. He alone ruled all of Hell. If another great demon were to emerge, even the mortal realm wouldn't escape unscathed.

"What do you want? Name your price," Han Yu said indifferently, his expression unwavering.

Seeing his composed demeanor, Loki, who had been feeling somewhat restless, found himself unexpectedly calmed. Watching Han Yu assist Thor in the past had already convinced Loki of this young human's immense power, and he'd often considered the possibility of aligning himself with him.

However, with Odin's loss of divine power, Loki had been compelled to remain in Asgard. Despite his rebellious nature, he still held deep feelings for the place where he'd grown up.

Though Loki had the blood of a Frost Giant, deep down, he considered himself an Asgardian. His outward disdain was often just bravado.

"Asgard might really be saved," Loki thought, exhaling quietly, though he made sure not to show it outwardly.

In negotiations, if one party felt relieved by the conditions proposed by the other, it meant they could afford it. Moreover, it often indicated they had far more resources left for bargaining.

This was a dangerous moment, as the other side could sense this and raise the stakes, turning favorable terms into a disadvantage. Loki was savvy enough to keep his relief to himself.

"I hope they don't end up fighting," Loki muttered internally.

Mephisto was a supreme force in Hell, and even across the Nine Realms, his power ranked among the top. On the other hand, Han Yu's strength was undoubtedly superior, though perhaps not overwhelmingly so. Loki was confident Han Yu wouldn't lose—otherwise, he wouldn't have accompanied him to Hell so readily.

Both were capable of dominating entire realms. If they clashed, this small Hell wouldn't even be able to withstand their presence.

At that moment, Mephisto had no idea what Loki was thinking. He didn't respond immediately, instead letting his gaze linger on Han Yu for a moment before shifting to the others behind him.

"Johnny... That brat used to be mine. Why is he standing on the other side now?"

"Loki… Odin's son. Hmm, no use to me."

"And this girl… Why is she here?"

Mephisto's gaze lingered on Galacta. The girl seemed unfamiliar yet oddly familiar, as if he had met her once thousands of years ago. Back then, Mephisto was just a minor demon, but Galacta had already been extraordinarily powerful. And now, here she was, standing behind Han Yu.

"Interesting. Truly interesting. This guy has quite the remarkable people around him—Ultron, Quicksilver, Wanda... and now even Galacta," Mephisto muttered to himself, a faint glimmer in his eyes.

"Has he recognized Galacta?"

Han Yu noticed Mephisto's shifting gaze and assumed he had. Han Yu remained silent, but his resolve was clear: if Mephisto dared suggest Galacta as part of the exchange, he'd flip the table before she even had a chance to respond.

After finishing his tea, Mephisto finally spoke. "Here's the deal—I don't want anything from you. I just want to be your friend. How about that?"

Of all those present, Johnny was the most stunned by this request. Mephisto, that old devil—calling him evil was merely scratching the surface. As a great demon, the atrocities he'd committed were beyond comprehension.

For someone like him to propose friendship was unnerving. It felt like inviting a knife to one's back. Mephisto was one of those entities best avoided entirely—neither befriended nor provoked. The farther away, the better.

"That's it?"

"That's it."

"Deal!"

Han Yu shook Mephisto's hand. Though they called it friendship, it was unmistakably a transaction.

Mephisto's reasoning was simple: Han Yu's entourage was exceptional. Even Galacta, the daughter of the planet-devouring Galactus, was at his side.

In the presence of Galactus, Mephisto was nothing more than a lackey. Forget Galactus—Mephisto wasn't even confident he could take on Galacta herself.

Forming a bond with someone like Han Yu promised immense future benefits. Mephisto's motivations were practical, grounded in the pursuit of self-interest. After all, in the adult world, who doesn't act for their own gain?

"Let's go. Take me to see Hela," Han Yu said, standing up.

Mephisto nodded. "Alright. We'll leave now. Sebastian, prepare the car. Let's go find Hela!"

Soon, the butler arrived with a vehicle—a sleek, elongated luxury car.

Looking at the car, Han Yu smirked at Mephisto. "You've got taste, driving a luxury car even in Hell."

"One must maintain a refined lifestyle," Mephisto replied with a smile, taking the lead and climbing into the car.

Han Yu followed, and the others quickly joined.

When the engine roared to life, the car's wheels ignited in blazing flames, just like Johnny's Hellfire motorcycle. It was clear this was Hellfire as well.

As the car began to move, it shot forward like an arrow, disappearing almost instantly, leaving behind faint flaming tire marks in the air.

The ride was incredibly fast. In less than five minutes, the vehicle began to slow down.

"Already? That was quick," Loki said, surprised. "Why even bother driving for such a short distance?"
