Manipulating Everyone Against Protagonist

Chapter 9: 9

"Are you done taking photos?" Yun Che asked Song Yuru with a friendly smile, showing no sign of annoyance.

"Done…" Song Yuru stammered, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"How about taking a few more inside the car?" Yun Che suggested, opening the car door for her. Meanwhile, he was already planning his next move.

Winning over Lin Xiyan would not be easy. She wasn't someone who could be swayed by good looks alone. Her decisions were grounded in her own values and instincts. In the original story, Ye Chen had to master various arts just to gain her approval. Yun Che lacked such versatility, so he decided to start by approaching her close friend, Song Yuru.

If he could gain Song Yuru's support, Lin Xiyan might become curious about him.

"Can I really?" Song Yuru hesitated, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Of course. Feel free," Yun Che replied smoothly. Without wasting a moment, Song Yuru climbed into the car and began snapping photos enthusiastically.

Yun Che then turned his attention to Lin Xiyan, who stood nearby. "Miss Lin Xiyan, right? Your guqin performance tonight was breathtaking," he said with a polite smile.

Lin Xiyan looked at him curiously. "How do you know my name?" she asked, her gaze lingering on his refined features.

"Who in Linjiang University doesn't know the famous Lin Xiyan? You're the dream girl of countless students," Yun Che said teasingly, his tone light.

"Those are just empty titles," Lin Xiyan replied, shaking her head with a hint of indifference.

"I'm Yun Che. May I have the pleasure of getting to know you?"

"Yun Che? Oh, I see now! You're the one Yuru is always talking about," Lin Xiyan said, her tone filled with sudden realization.

"What nonsense are you saying?!" Song Yuru, who had overheard their conversation, quickly jumped out of the Bugatti Veyron. Her face was crimson as she glared at Lin Xiyan.

"What? Did I say something wrong? Isn't it you who's always talking about?" Lin Xiyan teased with a playful grin, clearly enjoying the rare opportunity to turn the tables on her friend.

"You're talking nonsense!" Song Yuru protested, her voice rising in embarrassment. "My Prince Charming is standing right here! Can't you save me some face?"

She turned to Yun Che and, bowing her head slightly, muttered, "Senior Yun Che, we'll be leaving now." She then grabbed Lin Xiyan's hand and hurried off, eager to escape.

Yun Che didn't stop them, simply watching as they walked away. But to his surprise, Song Yuru returned moments later.

"Anything else?" Yun Che asked, raising an eyebrow.

Song Yuru, with her slightly round face, twin ponytails, and legs wrapped in white stockings, looked every bit the picture of youthful innocence. "Could I… get your contact information?" she asked hesitantly, her voice timid as if afraid of offending him.

"Of course," Yun Che replied effortlessly. In truth, he had been wondering how to get her contact details himself.

"We'll be going then! Bye~" Song Yuru said cheerfully after saving his number. She glanced back several times as they left, a happy smile lighting up her face.

Yun Che didn't linger. He got into his car, started the engine, and sped off into the night.

"He's gone. Stop looking," Lin Xiyan teased, laughing softly at Song Yuru's dreamy expression.

"My husband is so handsome," Song Yuru murmured, lost in her thoughts. "I can't believe I actually talked to him today…"

Lin Xiyan could only shake her head in exasperation.

Late at night, Yun Che arrived back at Crouching Dragon Mountain Villa. After parking his car, he went straight to his bedroom and collapsed into a deep sleep.

The next afternoon, he woke up groggily. After freshening up, he dressed in a tailored suit and headed downstairs, ready to attend to some important matters.

"You're awake, young master," Aqing greeted him respectfully from the dining table. Dressed in a neat maid's uniform, she gave a slight bow. "I've prepared your favorite lotus seed porridge. Would you like to have some now?"

Yun Che shook his head as he walked past the dining room. "You have it; I've got errands to run today and won't be eating at home."

As he left the house, Aqing felt a twinge of disappointment. "Why didn't the young master smile at me today?" she wondered, recalling the way his gaze had lingered on her when she wore black stockings the day before.
