Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 131: Battle Under The Rain —2

"Metal work: iron needle rain"

Yagar waved his hand forwards and materialising from thin air were several needles made from mana.

—wwooo

—wooo

—woooo

Not waiting even a second for his opponent to react he sent needles flying through the air barreling towards Ace.

His spells were metal based not because he had the most talents in it. It was because he enjoyed the sound of Iron peircing through the flesh of his opponents.

It was an unnatural yet enjoyable sound for him.

Unfortunately, his opponent was no small fry. Inside the torrent of rain, the tall figure of Ace that would usually stand out in a crowd surprisingly went missing.

It didn’t seem like he dodged or anything, he just disappeared from their line of sight.

Like a ghost.

"Hmmm, just as silent at ghost face....if not more" at the Side of the vertan faction Leon commented casually while watching the match.

He could recognise the movement of this Ace was very similar to how ghost face was moving during the tempering event. He couldn’t tell who was copying whom though.

"Take this" like a massive specter fading into existence Ace appeared behind yager and swiped down with his left arm shimmering with a bright ghostly aura.

It felt like the god of death wanted to reap the life of whomsoever was in front of it. This type of attack was terrifying especially when one was caught off guard.

"Dodge" yager screamed in his mind. But the crippling fear that came from this attack didn’t allow him to even move his legs.

"Can’t dodge, so block" he said before using his bare hands to block his head. There was no time to activate a spell, and even if he did, it would be useless at such a close range. So he had no choice but to use his body

—Boom

An overwhelming feeling overtook yagars body.....it felt like being hit by a train and before he knew it he was tossed through the air like a fiddle of paper where he proceeded to land head first into the concrete.

The force at which the attack landed was so much that he didn’t even know how or when he died.

In fact two minutes into his supposed Death he could hear everything that happened around him, even the conversation that followed.

"Ah? Too much?" Ace knitted his brows. That attack was meant to just give the boy a taste of what it felt to go against overwhelming odds. He didn’t know that it would reap the kids life so easily.

"I said I didn’t want to fight a kid" Ace felt guilty.....but this was a testament to what the battle was really about.

There was no, underdog being triumphant just because they were the underdog. What mattered here was power, the power to demolish one’s opponent.

It was that simple.

"Leave his body, let it serve as an example" Malacath attempted to take the corspe of his fallen brother, but was stopped by a voice coming from a figure floating in the air.

Gardon

The master of the mad dogs and the leader of the new gia faction.....the dark horse of this competition.

"Really?" Malacath asked with a frown. Was his master suggesting they leave the corspe of their fellow disciple in the rain while a battle was going on?

Wasn’t this too much ?

"Do what I say you little twat!!" Gardon shouted at Malacath. He didn’t care about the young yager any less than Malacath and the rest. In fact he loved him more than the rest.

For him to die so miserably was a thing of absolute shame and pain. But he had to make the tough decisions, leaving this body on the battlefield would not only send a message to their enemies, it would also echoed in the hearts of his deciples.

A death like this, none of them wanted it, and to not end up like this.....they would fight!!!

"Next!!!"

Jade with a worried look on her face called out. This Ace had killed one of the contestants.....the first death recorded in this battle, she didn’t know how to feel about it.

"Are you sure?" Jade turned to Leon and asked.

The next fighter from the vertan faction was not an actual member of the faction. He was someone Leon brought in.

Normally this would be the best outcome since they would be fighting against a seemingly unbeatable opponent. However, the guy Leon brought in was from the waterway family.

And he wasn’t some random person in the company. He was a truly influential person there. What would happen if he died on their watch?

"Hehe, carlson will win" Leon said with determination and confidence. If Leon was being honest, he hadn’t really met someone as competent in this world than Carlson.

He was always thinking forward and what and what to do, nothing like a mindless subordinate.

"We call in honorary guest from the waterway family to participate in the battle" Jade shook her head and announced. She wouldn’t be held accountable for anything that happens

"Hm? Waterway?"

The faction members from those around their immediate surroundings to the ones in the shadows frowned.

The waterway family was known to be a family of cowards because of their elder swordhand...They would never challenge odds bigger than them.....for some reason people thought that was bad back in the day.

So why would these cowards step out to interfer with their faceless mercenary company’s business? Did something change? Were they bribed or was it something else?

"Hmm"

From the corners of a building not too far away from the opening, a figure clad in blue amour elegantly made with a spear on his side stepped out.

Unlike some of the members of the faceless mercenary company that liked to keep on their masks. Carlson didn’t as he wasn’t a member.

—tap

—qing

—Clang

The sound of metal boots hitting the ground soon filled the air as carslon slowly approached Ace.

"Hmmmm" Carlson looked up at Ace and bent his head in curious smile.

—Woo

From out of nowhere, the spear in Carlson’s hand went up and surpassed the height of Ace just be the hair.

Immediately after he did that, the atmosphere became tense. This gesture... it was like saying it doesn’t matter how big or tall you are.

My spear will take your life.

"Hmmm, a threat. Interesting" Ace mused. He was happy more than anything that he wasn’t fighting against a kid anymore. He didn’t even care about the disrespect.

What really pissed him off about the other guy was because he was a kid that thought he could defeat him.

Ace had a bit of an inferiority complex, so he sort of hated young talents more than anything.

"It’s not a threat, I’m just measuring my spear.," Carlson shook his head and said calmly.

He had seen the other fight with yagar and as disappointing as it was in terms of the actual battle. A question had popped up in Carlsons head all of a sudden.

Will I be able to impale such a long neck?

"Okay, let’s get down to business" Carlson smiled and pulled back his spear before entering a battle pose..

"Indeed" for some reason Ace was skeptical about this waterway boy. The kid looked ordinary and not at all special....but there was a vague feeling emitting from him he couldn’t quite place.

—voom

The first person to move was of course Ace. With his incredible speed he had to take the initiative at the very least....it was up to his opponent to prove that the could last past his first attack.

—wiiiiii

As his claw like fingers came slashing down at Carlson, a smirk appeared on Carlson’s face.

—Clang!!

The truth was, Ace’s speed wasn’t easy to get use too, even carlson could hardly dodge it.

However, he could tank it.

Yes, the amour carlson had on was meant to defend against the most brutal attacks.

—shhhhh

Carlson was pushed back even with the amour...however it wasn’t so far that he couldn’t make a move.

With an extention of his spear carlson sent a spell directly towards Ace’s face.

—splat

It was a simple water projectile that carried no real damage.....other than disoriente ones opponent.

Naturally, this move wasn’t for no reason.

—wooooo

With his legs already in a crouching position, carlson lifted himself into the air and peirced directly at Ace’s head.

"Fuck!!"

It was like a blur but he felt the pain, Carlson was able to take off one of his ears.

"Hmm" carlson tossed the ear at Ace before landing on his feet opposite him.

Ace’s defence was magnificent even his head was fortified with a strange magic type. If it was someone else they would have failed to even graze him.

However....carlson wasn’t just anyone, he was the new favourite of the waterway family. This meant that he had in his disposal a level 3 magic treasure.

It didn’t matter how well reinforced Ace was. He couldn’t triumph against a level 3 magic treasures blade...
