Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 129: And So It Begins.

"Icy storm"

In the air space inside the hall, two figures could be observed wildly throwing attacks at each other unrelentlessly.

The battle between level 3 mages was phenomenal to watch, especially from Leon’s vintage point.

"She’s really keeping up with old man xion?" With a frown on her face jade said. What she was watching, was a beginner level 3 mage go toe to toe with a middle level 3 mage.

It was astonishing...old man xion was one of the most experienced mages in the vartan faction, it wasn’t easy to go toe to toe with him.

"Storm Area: lightening javelins" On the battle field arian activated an Area spell.

Area spells were special spell types used by level 3 mages. Level 3 was basically a fundamental change for any magic user. They would have to pick two or more mana elements and fused them to form a completely new method of attack.

For Arian, it was lightening magic and wind magic to form something called a storm Area. It basically allowed her to control the weather to an extent.

"Swamp Area: mud tentacles"

As for the elder xion, he is Area was a combination of water magic and earth magic.....his was quite special so it reflected in his power and status.

He could use his Area to trap his enemies before laying a real seige on them.

"Sigh....if only I could"

At the helm of the hall Leon sighed watching Arian fighting the elder. He wasn’t actually worried about the fight, he genuinely believed that Arian would win.

What had him down was watching them use mana Areas.

Leon was in trouble, or you could say he couldn’t keep this farce going for much longer. Now that he was a peak level 2 warlock the next step would see him creating a bloodline site, not a mana Area.

This was bad for his identity as a mage. But there was nothing he could do.

It was close to impossible to create both so Leon would have to abadon his mage identity soon or else he would be found out. It was clear that his journey in the faceless mercenary company was coming to an end.

(Hehe, I really need to speed things up with Palace dungeon.....at least before that time)

Leon thought in his mind, he was running out of time, the decision of the golden Griffin clans level 5 warlock on sky festival competition meant that all hell was about to break loose.

If th royalty was being lenient before, they wouldn’t take it laying down any more. It was all a matter of time.

"Arg!!!!!"

A horrendous wound appeared on the chest of the old man xion as he was sent back with eyes widened.

The wound left his chest feeling numb from lightening and a subtle cold spread to his finger tips.

Had he? A level 3 middle stage mage lost to this young lady at the beginner stages?

"Must be because of that sword" the elder sneered Looking at weapon in Arians hand. It was clearly a high grade weapon in level 3..

"Good, as this is but a match, we can only go so far....but I’m sure we don’t need it spelt out who the winner is" Leon smiled and stopped the match.

It was clear to everyone that Leon had won.

"Hmmmm" on the roof of the hall, a tall old man could be observed with a cyan coloured flame in his left hand.

He looked calm and serene ad he stared at the flame dancing in his hand. Tranquillity.

—woosh

With a wave of his hand, The flame was quenched and the old man Turned around and flew off into the faystone households forest area.

Meanwhile,

"How are your preparations going?" In a majestic hall somewhere in duan royal capital, an aged man with beautiful eyes akin to exploding supernovae could be seen seated on luxurious chair helping over the hall.

"We have gathered the needed talents, all we await now is your go ahead." Right down in front of the main chair, a balding man could be seen bowing at the person helmming the hall.

If Arian was here, she would recognize this bald middle aged man as a member of the faceless mercenary company.

As for how she knew him? When she fought in her entrance test, she had gone against this man’s student in the fight and when he was about to be executed the bald man had rescued him.

It was not honorable, but she could understand.....but now he was betraying the faceless mercenary company for the power of marquee cane.

"Good, set the time and dates, my Brother Alaric will be there alongside me And my son Lucian....we will make sure you win" the Marquee said to the man below him.

This guy was called Gardon. He was a good for nothing member of the faceless mercenary company...Gardon was the type of person to betray anyone for profits especially when he didn’t need to put in any work.

The best person for this job.....on their request he betrayed his faction and opened a new one with his student and a few friends, and with the help of the dalriss family their faction immediately stood out.

The dark horse.

"As you wish marquee" gardon bowed his head and fell back. The marquee was his ticket to luxury and power, and he didn’t need to do much, just betray the faceless mercenary company.

"Sigh" watching gardon leave the marquee could only shake his head before turning to Alaric, in his mind there was no difference between the slimmy guy and his own little brother.

"Get everything ready. I don’t want that old bastard from the duan family breathing down our necks by this time next week" with an ugly look on his face, the marquee cane said to Alaric.

He didn’t in truth care for the destruction of the faceless mercenary company nor did he want the power they provided, after all he was a level 4 mage and didn’t need to any distractions.

But the royalty wanted the faceless mercenary company under their control so as to have another bargaining chop to use against Damian.

He had no choice but to do a hostile take over.

However, he had no idea that he wasn’t the only one planning a hostile take over of the faceless mercenary company right now.

.......

1 week later

The western Wall of duan city.

A subtle torrent of water fell from the sky on a relatively dark day in duan city. Rain, wasn’t a frequent occurance in duan city, but whenever it did rain. It was always a joyous situation.

Families could stay in an enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the city would be quite.

"Hmm, pitiful" a faceless young man with white hair and a hood over his head commented.

At the side of a building, several men and women could be seen seated huddled togather trying to keep warm despite the rain.

These were warlocks.

Even though the undercity served as a sort of oasis for warlocks, it too had its capacity. Not every single warlock could stay there and some even refused to so as not to be lumped in with warlocks that supported the golden Griffin clan.

A mix of coward and those pushed by circumstances.

"They are already congregating....let’s hurry up" Beside the young faceless man a lady with white hair and blue sword on her waist commented.

Her face couldn’t be seen, but she gave off the aura of a beautiful damsel that could strike the hearts of any man who stood in her presence.

"Really, why couldn’t they just shift this thing? It’s raining!!" Another person behind the young man complained.

She wasn’t as tall as the lady with white hair, but she was just as stunning. Plus her unique purple hair made her stand out in the crowd of beauties.

"Hehe, we don’t have a choice do we?" The young man responded before slowly walking toward the center of the open space beside the wall.

This trio clearly consisted of Leon, Arian and Ember.

She was finally fully awake. The seed granted to her by Leon had Done alot for her recovery and some. She looked now more vibrant than ever before..

"So many....yet no one is coming out?" Leon walked to a makeshift pavilion in the middle of the area and commented.

"Hmm, we can only wait"

Right next to their pavilion were two other representing the three factions of the faceless mercenary company.

The Balwin faction and the Gia faction had few member there....clearly hiding their strength.

They weren’t the only ones though, even the vartan faction only had about 5 people in their pavilion.

Slowly, they would begin to reveal their strengths one after the other....they just needed someone to make a move.

And not long after, someone did.

"Are we just going to sit here and look at each other with googly eyes or are we getting down to business?"

The first person to speak was from that balwin faction.

The "strongest" and most influential faction here.
