Chapter 2: **Chapter 2: Witnessing Mr. Fool Stealing**

**Chapter 2: Witnessing Mr. Fool Stealing**

Odysseus had a bad feeling when he saw the Kingdom Museum.

It was October of 1349, and Klein Moretti had already arrived in Backlund.

Odysseus did not want any exciting adventures in this world, so he never sought out Klein or the other Tarot Club members.

But today, when the "Roselle Memorial Exhibition" was in full swing, Bernadette suddenly brought him to the Kingdom Museum late at night. He did not believe it was an invitation to see the memorial exhibition.

Outside the museum, Bernadette once again feigned listening.

Then she turned around and placed her index finger on her beautiful, shiny lips, making a "silence" gesture.

Odysseus seemed to sense something, and when he opened his mouth again, he found that his lips could not move.

Finally, Bernadette's fingers seemed to dance. The next second, she raised her index finger, and Odysseus' left leg lifted up without warning. She raised her middle finger, and Odysseus' right leg lifted up as well. Both legs were completely out of his control.

Odysseus was amused yet helpless as he felt the power of a demigod and the magic of her extraordinary abilities.

Bernadette made another gesture, pulling out a black hooded cloak from the void, which made her figure immediately become illusory.

A black hooded cloak also appeared on Odysseus's body, concealing him. He then followed behind Bernadette like a puppet, controlled by her.

Before them flashed an illusory avenue dotted with stars. This avenue made the walls of the Kingdom Museum seem ethereal, and they swaggered into the "Roselle Memorial Exhibition," which was guarded by extraordinary members of the Steam Church.

In particular, at the four corners of the roof stood a member of the "Mechanical Heart" team each. Two of them were wearing seals, but they all appeared to ignore Bernadette and Odysseus.

After entering the museum, upward steps appeared on the starlight avenue.

As he climbed the stairs and returned to the real world, Odysseus found himself in the replica of Roselle's study on the museum's second floor.

He and Bernadette were atop a tall bookshelf. In front of them was a ghostly figure with oil paint on its face.

Odysseus wanted to twitch the corners of his mouth but found that his lips were out of control. However, this did not stop his inner sigh: It's Klein! I am actually witnessing Mr. Fool stealing!

At that moment, Klein—or rather, the spirit Klein had summoned—was grabbing two bookmarks in a book.

Bernadette did not immediately stop him. Instead, she waited until he wrapped the bookmarks with his spirit before suddenly raising her hand.

Wow~wow~wow!

Suddenly, a shrill baby cry echoed throughout the exhibition hall. The sound was utterly surreal, as if it came from far away.

Klein's spirit seemed to freeze, standing motionless. Out of the corner of its eye, it caught sight of a man and a woman with their faces obscured by hoods atop the bookshelf.

Bernadette inquired in a stern voice, "Why did you only take the bookmarks?"

Klein seemed to be struggling, but to no avail. He was completely trapped in front of the desk in the exhibition hall and could not move at all.

"How did you know to get a bookmark?" Bernadette asked again.

A big smile suddenly spread across Klein's painted face.

The next second, his almost transparent figure vanished instantly! The two bookmarks he had wrapped in his spirit also disappeared.

Bernadette, who was sitting on the bookshelf, suddenly leaned forward, and Odysseus could see that she was evidently quite surprised.

But in a flash, Bernadette's figure became illusory and disappeared without a trace. She followed the spiritual guidance and chased after him.

After Bernadette left, Odysseus finally reacted: "Brother, what about me? I'm still here!"

The members of the "Mechanical Heart" team had heard the unusual cries from afar.

Odysseus faced two choices. The first choice was to be arrested by the "Mechanical Heart." He had many friends in the organization, so he didn't need to worry about being locked behind the "Gate of Truth." He could also get rid of the "Mysterious Queen" Bernadette.

However, something had been lost from the "Roselle Memorial Exhibition," and if he were spotted here, he would definitely be investigated, followed, and even interrogated by the demigod.

At this moment, he made a decision: it was better to run away.

So, Odysseus quickly took off his hood, turned his loose coat inside out as fast as possible, and tore off the lining.

In the inner lining of the coat, there was an "Eight-Pointed Star" magic circle drawn with spiritual powder and liquid. In the center of the magic circle was a small piece of "Ajona Crystal," an extraordinary material that Odysseus had bought at a high price. The other nodes of the magic circle were adorned with gems of various colors.

This was the escape equipment he had invested significantly in, and it was also the result of his previous research.

As the footsteps grew closer, Odysseus was about to inject spirituality into the magic circle when he suddenly discovered that a gray mist was rising from the spot where Klein's spirit had just departed, forming a palm-sized gray sphere in its center.

At the same time, an illusory light emanated from Odysseus' body, making the surroundings seem somewhat unreal.

He was slightly stunned, but then realized in an instant that there was some kind of connection or resonance between "Source Castle" and the space he could enter every Sunday.

Just as he figured it out, a palm-sized gray sphere suddenly flew over and sank into Odysseus' chest before he could react.

After Bernadette left, Odysseus could finally open his mouth. He opened it wide, ready to scream but quickly found that he felt no pain.

He hurriedly opened his collar to check, but could see nothing unusual on his chest.

The footsteps of the "Mechanical Heart" team members had reached the door. With no time to investigate further, Odysseus promptly injected his spirituality into the magic circle. At that moment, the extraordinary material "Ajona Crystal" of the "Door" helped him open an entrance to the spiritual world.

Odysseus picked up the hood that Bernadette had just summoned and immediately jumped in.

In the bizarre and strange scene, Odysseus felt as though he were in a tornado, his body spinning and tumbling rapidly. Before he could even see the spiritual world clearly, he was slammed to the ground.

At that moment, he felt as though his bones were breaking apart, but he quickly sat up and vomited violently.

Everything in his stomach was expelled, and finally, even the gastric juice was released, as the feeling of dizziness gradually faded.

Leaning against a street lamp, Odysseus looked around weakly. At that moment, he was about ten kilometers away from the Kingdom Museum, on a narrow street.

He tried to stand up, holding onto the street lamp: "There is still room for improvement."

It was no longer safe; he had to leave the West District as soon as possible.

Just as he was about to move by holding onto the wall, a lukewarm voice said, "You have a lot of good stuff on you."

Bernadette appeared from the void not far from Odysseus: "Unfortunately, no matter how you run, I can easily find you."

Odysseus glanced at the "Mysterious Queen," who had an excellent figure: "Did you catch the person who stole the bookmark?"

Come on, let's hurt each other!
