LOTM: I Married the Queen of Mystery

Chapter 1: **Chapter 1: The Mysterious Queen's Visit**

**Chapter 1: The Mysterious Queen's Visit**

Backlund, West District, 51 Henry Street.

In the evening, Odysseus, who had just finished his busy work, was lying in the armchair to rest.

Ding-ling-ling~

The bell hanging on the door rang. Even at this late hour, there were still guests.

Under the bright light of the gas lamp, Odysseus looked up lazily, then immediately sat up.

The visitor was a woman with waist-length chestnut hair and outstanding eyebrows, which outlined her heroic temperament.

She had a great figure, neither fat nor thin, and her blue eyes were as beautiful as the condensed ocean.

The other person's chestnut hair and beautiful face, along with the rare but uniquely beautiful combination of a white shirt, trousers, and black leather boots, reminds Odysseus of a great figure in the extraordinary world: "The Mysterious Queen," Bernadette.

The reason he thought of these things was not due to clues he gathered from the legend about the "Mysterious Queen," but because Odysseus was a time traveler who still remembered the hair color and unique outfit of the eldest daughter of Emperor Roselle.

He had traveled to this world three years ago, and as soon as he arrived, he became a "secret peeper" because of an extraordinary event caused by the "source essence."

Because he remembered part of the plot of the original novel, he digested the "Mystery Peeper" potion directly.

Due to this extraordinary case, Odysseus was highly scrutinized by the "Mechanical Heart" and was closely monitored for a long time. He even feared that the God of Steam and Machinery had been paying attention to him.

Fortunately, they could not confirm the connection between Odysseus and the "source," so he was not captured and dissected or studied like an alien.

Recently, Odysseus finally had the opportunity to be promoted, but he was still a "secret peeper."

Returning to the herbal medicine shop, Odysseus immediately smiled, stood up, and said, "Hello, how can I help you?"

The visitor was Bernadette. After entering the door, she also looked at Odysseus, a young man of about 23 or 24 years, with black pupils and slightly curly black hair.

He looked quite handsome, with thin lips, a high nose bridge, and bright eyes.

He was wearing a linen shirt and a loose coat, with a pair of cloth shoes on his feet. This outfit was not particularly gentlemanly, but it must have been very comfortable.

Various common herbs were displayed on the counters and cabinets in the herbal medicine store. It looked like a very ordinary store.

Finally, Bernadette's eyes fell on Odysseus: "I have something I want you to see."

Odysseus was slightly stunned. Was she here to sell stolen goods to him?

Due to the extraordinary events that happened when he came to this world and the business of running an herbal medicine shop, Odysseus had some connections in the extraordinary world, and some extraordinary people would sell stolen goods through his channels.

But as the "Queen of Mystery," she should have her own means to sell the stolen goods.

While thinking, Odysseus hung up the "Closed" sign on the door and then pulled down the door curtains and window shades.

After doing all this, he stood behind the counter and made a "please" gesture.

Bernadette took out a small wooden box from her pocket, placed it on the counter, and pushed it toward Odysseus.

When Odysseus, the owner of the herbal medicine shop, opened it, he saw dozens of strangely shaped metal objects like building blocks. On one side of the metal objects were some fluorescent-like carvings emitting a faint dark red glow.

Seeing this, Odysseus' eyes narrowed, but he quickly hid his surprise and asked with a frown: "Who is this?"

"You should know her," Bernadette smiled politely.

Odysseus pretended to be confused: "Sorry, I have no impression of this."

Odysseus put on a professional smile: "Our store's business scope is limited, and we can't buy this... opportune item. Please try somewhere else."

"Let me remind you," Bernadette said, her expression indicating that she had anticipated this: "Peter, 116 Michel Street."

Odysseus, who was familiar with the surrounding area, knew very well that Peter, living at 116 Michel Street, was a "thief."

The item in the box was the weapon Odysseus lost yesterday. He had done divination and knew that Peter had stolen his belongings. In the afternoon, he sent someone to negotiate with this "thief."

Odysseus' smile vanished: "Since you are so well-informed, you should know who my 'boss behind the scenes' is."

"Of course, I know, and I also know the relationship between you and the 'boss behind the scenes,'" Bernadette said seriously, placing her hand on the counter. "But I still came!"

Odysseus felt a bit helpless. Even in Backlund, unless the royal family or the church sent angels to intervene, no one could do anything to the person in front of him.

To be precise, even when facing an angel-level enemy, Bernadette would not be afraid. After all, she alone had three level 0 seals!

Odysseus sighed and said, "Are you interested in the extraordinary application of this weapon?"

Bernadette nodded and said, "You are a very smart, young man. First, I want to know who made this extraordinary weapon and what its principle is, then I can assemble it."

Odysseus smiled and replied, "You must have seen that I am not a craftsman. This is a failed experiment of the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery. Please ask me to assist them with it."

Then he changed the subject: "I'm curious, how did you dismantle it?"

"You're lying!" The "Mysterious Queen" narrowed her eyes, not falling for Odysseus's trick. "Even if it's a failed experiment, the church wouldn't sell such a thing!

"As for how I took it apart, that's my business."

She disassembled this extraordinary weapon but couldn't put it back together.

Bernadette placed both hands on the counter: "You'd better tell the truth and don't make me resort to some tricks."

This extraordinary weapon was actually made by Odysseus, but it concealed his biggest secret.

After coming to this world, Odysseus gained a strange ability. Every Sunday after he fell asleep, he would enter a mysterious space.

That mysterious space was composed of knowledge formed by layers of light. That knowledge was all-encompassing. As long as Odysseus could think of it, he could find the corresponding knowledge there.

But each time he entered, he had to complete a project before waking up. Even if he stayed in that space for a year, it would simply feel like he had slept upon emerging.

There, he could choose the topic he wanted to study, but it couldn't be too superficial. At the very least, he had to have some opinions and research conclusions of his own; otherwise, that space would not permit him to exit.

At first, Odysseus was quite perfunctory, but as he gained more knowledge there, his topics became increasingly profound.

That extraordinary weapon came from one of his research results and was an innovative application of spiritual materials.

Odysseus was about to use the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery to shirk responsibility again, but the "Mysterious Queen" Bernadette suddenly raised her hand, signaling Odysseus not to speak. She seemed to be listening attentively. The next second, she said, "You need to accompany me to a place first." Before Odysseus could ask, "Where are we going?", a phantom feather covered his face. When the phantom feather dissipated, Odysseus found himself at the Kingdom Museum on King's Avenue.

Odysseus was slightly stunned. He remembered that the "Roselle Memorial Exhibition" was currently being held at the Kingdom Museum!
