When the next day came Junpei went back to his house during the early morning to get his uniform and school supplies.

He didn't want to come to school but if he gets expelled it would cause his mom a lot of trouble and max said that he going to watch the school in case something happened and Junpei was grateful that someone has his back.

When the school started after a while he went into the gym and they gave a speech on plans for the future Junpei didn't pay attention because he knew that the words of encouragement were fake.

After that was over it was almost after school and Junpei was in the bathroom and when he was done he felt that the air changed.

He looked outside and saw that it was nighttime but he was sure that it was sunny he then heard screaming and he followed it to the gym.

But there was no one there he thought that this was the work of the one going after him he then heard a voice that came out of the darkness.

Mahito: well well looks like you actually came I'm glad.

Junpei didn't know why but this guy felt like he wasn't human he used his senses and he realized that this guy is a curse.

Junpei: you aren't human what did you do that it turned dark?

Mahito: oh looks like you don't know about barriers well that doesn't matter.

Mahito had a glint in his eyes and he was looking at Junpei like he was a rare creature.

Mahito: you have full awareness of your soul I had to use your mom to see how you would have reacted and I sensed that your soul flared into action that was pretty impressive.

When Junpei heard that he was now enraged by the bastard who was saying all of this with a smile on his face.

Mahito noticed this but he didn't feel threatened instead he decided to taunt him.

Mahito: oh looks like you are pretty mad aren't you?

Junpei: why? why are you after me and why did you have to put my mom in the cross fire!?

Mahito: simple because I want that connection you have with your soul. You see I'm still a young cursed spirit so I'm not exactly in my peak however you are fully aware of your soul and I want that too.

Mahito extended his hand and as if he was handing and offering.

Mahito: so here is what I'm proposing you teach me what you know and I'll leave you and your mom alone that sounds like a fair deal right.

Junpei had a blank expression and he was thinking about and when he was done he walked up to mahito and grabbed his hand and shook it.

Mahito was honestly surprised that he felt for this one minute he was mad but he accepted his offer but of course mahito being a curse when he had everything to know about how to react his peak potential he would just kill this boy when he was no longer of any used to him.

But Junpei's grip tightened and he punched mahito this was the hardest punch Junpei ever did and he unknowingly did the single impact technique.

Mahito was launch away and he crashed into a wall he was a little dizzy from the single impact but he used his technique to heal it but it didn't heal.

Junpei was grabbing his sore arm he never punched anyone so hard like that his arm was somewhat sore but it was going away slowly.

Junpei: you except me to just forgive after you tried to kill my mom like hell I'll kill you!!

Mahito was somewhat cautious since Junpei can damage his soul but he can tell that Junpei wasn't physically strong and he would to outsmart his shikigami.

Junpei summoned moon dregs and prepared himself for combat.

Mahito: well this saves me the trouble since I was going to kill you anyways so I'll have to push you to learn.

Junpei felt a surge of rage and he ordered moon dregs to wrap his tendrils around mahito.

Mahito himself tried to get away from the tendrils but eventually he was caught and when Junpei thought he got him he then ordered moon dregs to make spikes appeared in the cocoon of tendrils.

He thought Mahito couldn't get out of that unscathed so he was about to call max but he heard the sound of something being sliced.

Mahito came out of the sliced off tendrils and he had blood and purple rashes in his body Junpei was sure to maximize the effect of the poison so Mahito shouldn't be able to move.

Mahito: got to say if I didn't harden my body I probably would have died.

Junpei:(why isn't the poison effecting him he shouldn't be even moving!)

Mahito noticed Junpei's shocked look and he smiled in mockery.

Mahito: you have potential but at your current state only a weak curse can be effected by that sting of yours.

Mahito rushed at Junpei and the boy was too in shock to avoid Mahito he touched his stomach and used his technique.

Mahito: idle transfiguration.

Junpei felt a sting in his body but his soul was the cause of the pain it felt like it was shifting in the wrong way.

He found through the pain and he ordered moon dregs to stab Mahito away from him pinning him to the wall and adding more poison into Mahito.

Junpei fell in the ground and was breathing heavily he felt as if his life flashed before his eyes and he felt a lot of pain in his stomach.

But Mahito was actually surprised that Junpei didn't get transfigured he guessed since Junpei is aware of his soul it has more of a defense and he bearly managed to transfigure his soul.

It was like if you were trying to mold really solid clay that's the only way he can describe it.

Mahito: you interest me more and more kid but now since I can't put you in my collection I'll just have to squash you.

He grew his hand large enough that it can crush a human in it.

Junpei can't move much due to the pain in his stomach but his adrenaline kicked in and he ran towards exit of the gym.

Mahito swung down his arm and Junpei was about to get crushed but he summoned moon dregs to protect him but the weight of the hand imbedded him into the ground cracking a few bones in the process.

Mahito checked on Junpei who was bearly conscious who had blood coming out of his arm and head.

The curse stepped on Junpei's arm making scream in pain.

Mahito: I'll honest you gave me a lot to think about myself and I thank you so.

He extended his arm and turned it into a blade and Junpei saw a crazed look in his face.

Mahito: I kill you quickly and don't worry when I find you mother I'll make sure you are reunited.

Junpei closes his eyes and wait for the inevitable death he only had one regret that he won't be able to see the people that saw him as a friend and his mom.

However a slash of metal and flesh was heard and Junpei opened his eyes and saw max who cut off Mahito's arm but someone else came in and dropped kicked Mahito in the face sending him flying and crashing through the wall.

Peter also came in with the save

Junpei saw max's back and he completely forgot that he was out of the barrier and he was glad that he saved his life.

Max turned and saw the state Junpei was in.

Max: fuck Junpei are you alive?

Junpei: i am what took you so long?

Peter: there was a hoard of those curses holding us back and it was more than before.

Max grabbed his healing gem and gave it to Junpei.

Max: just focus your spiritual energy in it and it will heal you.

Junpei did as he was told and he felt that same warm feeling and he felt the pain in his stomach and injuries fading away.

Mahito came back and saw this he was intrigued on how that green gem can recover someone's soul it was more of the body but the soul is healing too and this really peeked his interest.

Max looked at the curse and he saw that it was the more human looking out of all of them.

Mahito: you are the same as Junpei right? I got to say this day just gets better and better.

Peter summoned his daggers and took a stance.

Peter: well patchy the pirate if you want a fight you will get it I already don't like that look in your eyes so you want to dance let's dance.

Max also took a stance and got himself ready.

Junpei managed to get up but his energy was being drained thanks to the green gem so he decided to fight with them to provide back up.

The four were at a stand off and after a few seconds Mahito got out two small size object and fused them together but max and Peter didn't care what it was they rushed at him with Junpei behind.

But Mahito wanted them to come closer.

The object then turned into a monster the rushed at the three Junpei and Peter got out of the way but max had to use his black arms to grab it by the teeth to not get eaten.

And he looked behind him and saw he was about to crash through it he made a black shield behind him to minimize the damage.

When he busted through he looked back at the mouth of the creature and saw Mahito inside.

And the curse hit him making him roll in the ground but he recovered and got out the way of the amalgamated creature.

And it cashed into a small hill stopping it Junpei and Peter rushed into the scene to make sure max was alright.

Peter: you okay man?

Max who was touching his face in a little pain just nodded.

Max: he gave a good punch but I'll be fine.

They saw how a doorway was made in the creature and out came Mahito.

Mahito: that was just a small piece of my capabilities I have more were that came from.

The group of 3 were now on guard this guy has some wierd abilities and they are not going to take any chances.
