Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: Teleportation, Obtained!
Chapter 100: Teleportation, Obtained!
It was fortunate that the teleportation marker was still there. I secretly attempted teleportation to several points. The Fortress Fort I built in the forests near Arcart had disappeared, but the location registration was perfect. I could also fly to an abandoned house, but it felt wrong to enter without permission. I’ll refrain from using it until I acquire it through proper channels later.
I feel like peeking into Arcart Academy right away, but it’s Sunday night. I’ll come back another day. It would be great if I could set a warp point somewhere in the academy.
October 14th, Monday. It’s time to start taking action. From now on, I’ll stop giving presentations directly. First, Professor Kabaneru, I’ll send him an anonymous report. It explains how to make alcohol from relief crops. Whether to turn this into a business opportunity is up to him. And Rose and Bruno. I’ll handle it with letters. I explored the Ice Super Dungeon on the weekend, and the materials there are superior to Marol’s intermediate dungeon. Just by adding one of each material that causes poison, paralysis, blindness, and petrification to a ring, you can block or reduce almost any abnormal status with a high probability. I’ll casually enchant some rings with these and send them along with Sanity Potions to his room. I prepared these reports and letters quietly during class since the start of this loop. With this, my intervention with them is over.
The only one left is Lord Luca. I wonder if he’s still fighting alone in the capital at this time. In the fourth loop, before I went to the capital in January, he commuted to school from his home. I wonder if he’s still commuting or if he’s given up and holed up in his room. I want to check on him once.
October 15th, Tuesday. After school, I flew to the capital. In the previous loop, I avoided getting close to the capital, but it might be a good idea to leave a marker around here too. For now, I stealthily flew over to Count Laquell’s mansion from above in the darkness. Despite being called a prestigious magic family, their defense is lacking. There seems to be a security barrier in addition to guards for ground intruders, but I easily bypassed it and peeked into Lord Luca’s room from the window.
Lord Luca was sitting at his desk with a lamp lit. Noble Academy textbooks and notes were lined up on the desk, but there was no sign of progress. Of course, there wouldn’t be. He has enough academic ability to skip all the way to the end of the high school department by the end of the first year of the middle school department. It must be boring for him. Yet, both at home and at school, he’s looked down upon just because of his earth attribute. It’s understandable that he would lose motivation.
I know his innocent smile. In the fourth loop, he admired me like a real brother. I don’t need to intervene directly in other cases, but I want to do something for him somehow.
Knock, knock.
I accidentally knocked on his window.
“Who’s there?”
After several knocks, Lord Luca noticed me. He cautiously opened the window a bit and spoke to me.
“Nice to meet you, Lord Luca Laquell. I am Ale… let’s just leave it at Alex.”
Oops. I should have prepared a more clever alias. I approached the conversation with him while using a skill to hinder recognition.
“Why are you here at this hour? Are you calling someone?”
Lord Luca, who realized my identity after a few knocks, became more wary. But I can’t back down here.
“Lord Luca, do you want power?”
“Power?”
Alright, that got him. Despite his age, he still has a bit of chuunibyou. “Do you want power?” This is a power word for someone with this condition.
“As a token of our acquaintance, please take this. It’s a little charm.”
The same ring I gave to Bruno. I’ve been wanting to give it to him someday. It has the effect of reducing abnormal statuses, so it will give him quite a resistance to mental attacks from his surroundings.
“That’s it for tonight. I’ll come again.”
“Wait, just a moment.”
Leaving him seeming like he had something to say, I flew away… pretending to, I landed in the shadow of the shrubbery, out of sight from the gatekeeper. I calculated the coordinates and registered the teleportation marker, then returned to Marol. With this, I’ve done the minimum intervention. However, for him to continue his school life without problems, it would be better to level him up a bit. I immediately started making talismans and magical tools to give to him.
October 16th, Wednesday. Finally infiltrating Arcart Academy. I’ve had quite a rough time with the pink-haired girl in the past loops. Although I’m wary, I can’t keep avoiding her forever.
One good thing about Arcart Academy is the freedom of dress. While there is a uniform, many students from other countries wear clothing determined by their religion or customs. Nobles attend school in semi-formal attire. Mainly commoner students wear the uniforms.
For penniless commoners, second-hand uniforms from alumni are available. So, it’s easy to get a uniform from nearby clothing stores. It’s easy to blend in as a student. In the previous loop, I disguised myself by exploring the campus on holidays in casual clothes, but this time, I put on the uniform of the high school department and confidently wandered around the school after class.
The problem with finding the pink-haired girl is that her class changes based on her academic performance. The first, Vivian, was in Class E, and the last, Veronica, was in Class B. Of course, academic performance refers to the game’s system. Both Vivian and Veronica seemed pretty hardcore. Maybe they adjust their grades to focus on the target they want to conquer.
I wandered around the school for a while, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find her. However, I explored some warehouses and deserted buildings and registered them as teleportation markers. I’ll use these as footholds and aim to clear it next time. The next “inner player,” truthfully… I hope she’s a decent person.
October 18th, Friday. Once again, I go to see Lord Luca in the capital. When I knocked on the window, he quickly noticed.
“What’s this ring?”
“It’s a charm to calm your feelings. Do you not like it?”
“When I showed it to the teacher, he said it was an amazing artifact.”
You showed it to him! But that’s my fault. If someone gives you a mysterious ring, of course you’d investigate it. I should have explained properly and sworn him to secrecy.
“So, what do you think? Have you made up your mind to become stronger?”
“Well…”
Lord Luca looked puzzled. Of course he would. A strange man flying outside the window, handing over a suspicious ring, and then saying, “Do you want power?” But I pressed on.
“Actions speak louder than words. I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow night. You won’t regret it. Well then.”
With that, I left him and teleported right in front of his eyes. I hope he’ll come with me tomorrow.
