Chapter 14: Lord Peverell
June 1994
4 Privet Drive
An excited Harry focused to claim the lordship of the Peverell family and to his surprise, he felt magic working in giving the correct method to do so.
Keeping his body straight, he started to speak, "I Harry James Potter, son of James Charlus Potter and Lily Evans Potter, hereby claim the lordship of Peverell Family. I claim myself to have been chosen as the true magical heir of Antioch Peverell, Cadmus Peverell and Ignotus Peverell, by Magic and Death itself. I claim to take my duties as Peverell Lord, sincerely and responsibly."
As soon as harry completed his oath, he felt his magic flaring and a golden circle with grey shades surrounding him. He felt being judged by the golden circle or by Magic and Death itself. And after few moments, the circle contracted and ultimately merged into Harry's body completing the oath and judging it to be correct.
Now Harry Potter was officially Lord Peverell. Harry grinned for moments and wondered how would he be receiving the surprise, the Peverell brothers had mentioned.
To his astonishment his school trunk which was lying nearby snapped open and his invisibility cloak flew and expanded in size and wrapped around Harry like a shawl.
Even before his mind could wander what exactly happened, two more objects made a sudden appearance in front of him.
The first was an octagonal stone black in colour. In front of Harry's surprised eyes, the stone flew towards his chest and a golden coloured case appeared out of nowhere. The stone was perfectly enclosed in the case and the case hung on Harry's neck from a golden thread.
The second object to make an appearance was a wand. Harry instinctively raised his hand and the wand flew in his hand. As soon as Harry touched the wand another golden light much more majestic than the previous time surrounded Harry and in few extra moments the light was gone.
It took Harry few minutes to register what had actually transpired in front of him. He now held the three legendary Deathly Hallows.
When the light had disappeared the three hallows had also disappeared but Harry could still feel their power and their linkage to his soul. It would take not even a moment for Harry to recall the Hallows.
The first and the most surprising was his Invisibility cloak. He had never though that his invisibility cloak was one of the legendary Deathly Hallows. Dumbledore had easily seen through his cloak and Ignotus had told him that no protection or ward could detect the presence of the cloak. Even if the power of the cloak was sealed and was not working on its full capacity, it should have not been possible for Dumbledore to see through the cloak unless he had stuck few of detection and tracking charms on the cloak.
Though Harry felt relieve, when he learned through his connection from the hallows that not only the hallows are back to their full power, having been freed from any kind of restriction, they have also been cleansed of any kind spells or magical rituals placed on them through the centuries.
Harry willed for the cloak and the cloak appeared wrapped around him like a shawl. A hood hung from the cloak which harry used to cover his head and he disappeared. Harry again willed and the cloak disappeared.
The second thing was the resurrection stone and as soon as Harry focused his mind on the stone he was assaulted by Voldemort's memories regarding the stone. To Harry's utter disgust he could perfectly recall how Tom Riddle stole the ring containing the stone and how he converted it into his horcrux. Not willing to deal with the memories of horcrux for now, Harry shifted his mind from Voldemort's memories.
He willed and the stone appeared hung on his chest enclosed inside the case. His first instinct was to use the stone to summon his parent's soul. But using all of his willpower Harry stopped himself from doing so. He was not aware of what actually transpired if someone summoned a soul using the stone, since Cadmus had not explained anything. He resolved that he would go through all of Cadmus's memories, do his research and only would make his decision.
And the third Hallow, the elder wand. Harry easily recognised the wand of Dumbledore. Though he had never seen the old coot using his wand even a single time, by luck he had gazed upon the wand once, hidden under Dumbledore's sleeve. Harry wondered in his mind that if dumbledore knew about his wand being a Deathly hallow? And whether he knew about the cloak or not? And why he had the cloak in his first place or he had simple stole it after his father's death. Harry had too many questions and too few answers.
For the next few minutes, Harry went through all his emotions including astonishment, wonder, shock and surprise.
He chuckled and muttered, "Who would have thought that your small gift would be the legendary hallows himself?"
He finally wondered, 'Am I Master of Death now?' Since he felt no special connection with Death, he concluded that there was no him being Master of Death kind of business.
Moving his thoughts from the hallows he started to think about what should his next work should be.
Ultimately, he concluded that he lacked the knowledge about the wizarding world to even plan anything, so for the next few days he would go through the memories of the three Peverell brothers and Voldemort. Also he would be reading through all the books he had purchased in the Diagon alley.
