Kushina Uzumaki The Sage Of The Yuri Path

Chapter 24: Kurama A Nine Tailed Smackdown

The training yard behind Sayuri Arata's home was quiet, save for the occasional rustle of leaves in the breeze. Naruto, now two years old, sat cross-legged on a blanket, his tiny hands resting on his knees as he stared at a leaf balanced precariously on his forehead. He was supposed to be focusing his chakra to hold it steady, but the leaf wobbled violently before falling to the ground.

"Try again, Naruto," Sayuri said calmly, crouching beside him. "You need to focus."

Naruto nodded, his little face scrunched in determination as he picked up the leaf and placed it back on his forehead. This time, the leaf stayed in place for a few seconds before flying off again.

Sayuri frowned, her violet Rinnegan glinting faintly beneath her transformation jutsu as she observed his chakra flow. Something wasn't right. Naruto was trying his hardest, but his chakra felt… chaotic, as if something—or someone—was interfering.

"Yuumi," she said quietly, addressing the nine-tailed fox lounging nearby in her disguised form. "It's not just his control. His chakra is being disrupted."

Yuumi tilted her head, her blue eyes narrowing. "The big fuzzball, no doubt. Kurama's probably throwing a tantrum in there."

Sayuri's expression hardened. "I'll deal with it."

"Bold move, little fox," Yuumi said, smirking. "Just don't break him too much."

Later that evening, after Naruto had fallen asleep, Sayuri sat beside his crib, her hands glowing faintly with chakra as she pressed them against his stomach. The Four Symbols Seal that held the Nine-Tails in place glimmered softly beneath her touch, the intricate patterns pulsing with restrained energy.

With a deep breath, she activated the seal, her consciousness slipping into the metaphysical realm where Kurama was imprisoned. When she opened her eyes, she stood before the familiar sight of a massive iron gate, behind which loomed the hulking form of the Nine-Tailed Fox.

"Who dares disturb me?" Kurama growled, his crimson eyes glowing like molten fire. His massive form shifted, his tails swishing dangerously behind him as he glared down at her.

Sayuri stepped forward, her Life-Breaker Chakra Chains materializing around her, their golden-green glow casting an ethereal light across the chamber. "I do."

Kurama's eyes narrowed, and he let out a low growl. "A human… You have guts to come here. Leave before I crush you."

Sayuri smirked, her chains snapping through the air and wrapping tightly around one of his massive paws. "That's cute. Let's see you try."

Kurama roared, thrashing against the chains, but his efforts were futile. Sayuri yanked the chains tighter, forcing the fox to lower his head to her level.

"You're interfering with Naruto's chakra control," she said coldly. "Care to explain why?"

Kurama bared his fangs, his voice dripping with malice. "Why should I explain anything to you? That boy is nothing but a cage for my power. I'll do as I please."

Sayuri's expression darkened, her chains glowing brighter as she tightened them further. "Wrong answer."

Kurama roared again, attempting to lash out with his tails, but Sayuri's chains moved like lightning, binding him completely. "How dare you treat me like this?" he snarled. "Do you know who I am?"

Sayuri tilted her head, her smirk widening. "Oh, I know exactly who you are, Kurama. And you're about to find out who I am."

Kurama froze, his eyes narrowing as he studied her more closely. There was something familiar about her presence, her chakra… His growl deepened. "No. It can't be. You're—"

"That's right," Sayuri said, her voice laced with satisfaction. "Kushina Uzumaki. Back from the grave and still not afraid to put you in your place."

Kurama's ears flattened, and for a moment, genuine fear flickered across his face. "You…"

"Me," Kushina said, pulling the chains even tighter. "Now listen carefully, Kurama. You're going to stop interfering with Naruto's chakra. He's just a child, and he deserves the chance to grow stronger without you sabotaging him."

Kurama's growl softened into a low grumble. "You think I care about your pathetic whelp? He's nothing to me."

Kushina's chains flared with energy, making him flinch. "Oh, you'll care. Because if you don't, I'll make your life inside this seal a living nightmare. Do you understand me?"

Kurama glared at her but nodded reluctantly. "Fine. I'll stop interfering."

"Good," Kushina said, her tone sharp. "And one more thing—don't you dare tell Naruto who I am. If you so much as whisper my name, I'll make sure you regret it."

Kurama grumbled under his breath, muttering something about "annoying Uzumaki women," but he didn't argue further.

As Kushina prepared to leave, Kurama's voice rumbled through the chamber. "Before you go, let me give you some advice."

Kushina paused, turning back to face him. "Oh? And what advice could you possibly have for me?"

"The boy's life will not be easy," Kurama said, his tone unusually serious. "You think I'm the only threat he'll face? You're wrong. The world is cruel, and there are powers far greater than me watching him. Watching you."

Kushina's eyes narrowed, her expression unreadable. "I know. And when the time comes, I'll be ready."

With that, she released the chains, and Kurama slumped against the floor of his cage, his massive form radiating frustration and resignation. "You're as insufferable as ever," he muttered as she disappeared.

The next morning, Naruto's chakra training showed immediate improvement. For the first time, he managed to hold the leaf steady on his forehead for several seconds before it fell. His little face lit up with excitement.

"Mama! I did it!" he exclaimed, running to hug Sayuri.

"You're getting stronger," Sayuri said with a proud smile, ruffling his hair. "Keep it up, Naruto."

During bath time, Naruto attempted water-walking again and managed to stay upright for a few moments before splashing into the tub. Sayuri laughed, pulling him out and wrapping him in a towel.

"We'll call that progress," she said, her heart swelling with pride as she watched him giggle.

Yuumi, observing from the corner, smirked. "So, the big fuzzball actually behaved?"

"For now," Sayuri said, her tone serious. "But if he steps out of line, he knows what's coming."

As the night deepened, Sayuri's thoughts drifted to the larger picture. Danzo's iron grip on Root, the lingering threats posed by Orochimaru—who, according to her memories, should still be in the village at this time—and the ominous warning Kurama had given her all painted a grim picture of the challenges ahead. Everything seemed to point toward an inevitable, larger battle involving Obito, his manipulator Madara Uchiha, and the shadow behind them both—Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

Yet, Kushina didn't view Kaguya as an enemy, but as a potential ally, a sister in arms against the greater evils of the world. She just needed to find the right way to approach the enigmatic woman when the time was right—when she was older, stronger, and better prepared. For now, she would bide her time, build her strength, and focus on laying the groundwork for the battles to come.

Yuumi appeared beside her, curling up at her feet. "You've got a lot on your plate, little fox. But knowing you, you'll manage."

Kushina smiled faintly, her resolve hardening. "I don't have a choice. He's my son."
