Chapter 50: 050 Hatake Sakumo's Suicide
During these three months, Simu lived very leisurely.
So much so that his imitation value increased to 48%.
This is enough to see how salty fish Simu is.
His daily routine was simple: eat, sleep, and flirt.
When Kushina wasn't around, he'd tease Lindy, and when Lindy was away, he'd hold Kushina's hand and steal kisses.
Meanwhile, that hard-working fool Minato spent every waking moment perfecting his Flying Thunder God Technique from dawn till dusk.
Today, with Lindy away on another mission, Simu took Kushina on a date to the grove. Their relationship progressed quickly.
Though they hadn't taken things to the final step, holding hands and stealing kisses had become a regular thing.
This change led to their original three-person team naturally splitting into two, leaving poor Minato to train alone.
"Hey, Simu, did you think my hair was ugly when you first met me?" Kushina asked out of the blue.
When she first transferred to a new school, she was often picked on because of her hair. It seemed like only Minato and Simu never judged her for it.
Simu scratched his nose.
"Ugly? Not really."
"Did you like it then?"
Kushina frowned slightly, giving him a sharp look.
"Hahaa," Simu laughed, scratching his head awkwardly.
"To be honest, I actually thought your hair color was pretty back then."
"Hmph, a man's words are nothing but lies," Kushina replied skeptically.
But that's just how girls are. Even if they don't fully believe the compliment, they still enjoy hearing it.
If he chooses to tell the harsh truth instead, well, let's just say Simu might end up getting knocked out by Kushina's terrifying strength.
"Look, Simu, this road is so beautiful," Kushina said as she let go of his hand.
Turn around and dance to the slowly falling Sakura flowers.
As time went by, Kushina grew quickly. She was now 1.6 meters tall, with a well-proportioned figure.
Though not as voluptuous as Lindy, she was starting to show a graceful shape of her own.
A white dress dances under the rain of Sakura flowers.
Swirling skirt, flying red hair.
Simu looked at it in a daze for a while.
Suddenly, Simu's expression frowned.
He glanced to the side, body tensing as he gathered strength.
Two masked Anbu appeared on the road, though they kept their distance from Kushina.
This was a precaution Simu had insisted on, much to the surprise of the Anbu.
Many in the Anbu had reservations about Simu's methods, finding his approach rather unorthodox.
After all, protecting the Jinchūriki was their top priority.
But when Simu insisted on joining them and demonstrated his strength, they had to face a hard truth:
With Simu by Kushina's side, their presence hardly made a difference.
Today, they didn't appear because of any threat or enemy; it was simply because the village was under martial law.
"Simu, Kushina, Hokage-sama has ordered you both to return home immediately," the Anbu ninja said with a serious tone.
"What happened?" Simu asked, his mind racing as he tried to recall details.
But the original events were too vague, and there were gaps he couldn't fully remember.
The Anbu ninja simply shook his head, offering no explanation.
"It's confidential right now. The entire Konoha Village is under martial law," the Anbu ninja replied.
"Got it," Simu said, taking Kushina's hand.
"Let's go, I'll get you home."
With that, Simu picked her up, turned into a flash of light, and vanished on the spot. The Anbu sighed and quickly gave chase.
It wasn't until the next morning that Simu and Kushina learned what had happened the previous night.
Konoha's hero in the Second Ninja World War, Sakumo Hatake, also known as the White Fang, single-handedly turned the tide of the battle in the Rain Country and killed two high-ranking members of the Sand Shinobi.
But last night, he ended his own life at home, using his famous short sword, White Fang.
"Senior Sakumo actually...?" Minato murmured, feeling lost.
Although they weren't particularly close to Sakumo, they knew he was a friendly senior. It was hard to believe he would suicide at home.
In fact, there had been whispers around the village in recent days.
But Simu hadn't heard much since he stayed at home.
Even if he had heard, he knew there was little he could have done.
It wasn't something that could be solved with words—this was a mental struggle.
Simu believed there was no way to change what had happened.
People in the village said that Hatake Sakumo had abandoned his mission for the sake of a comrade and was no longer worthy of being a ninja.
On top of that, the ninja Sakumo had once saved spoke out, publicly accusing him.
With the support of some people, the pressure on Sakumo grew heavier. In the end, he couldn't bear it and commit suicide.
At Sakumo Hatake's funeral, Simu stood with his hands in his pockets, watching the white-haired boy holding the short sword at the ceremony.
A large crowd gathered at his funeral, but everyone remained silent.
These were ninjas who had been helped by Hatake Sakumo.
It was clear that White Fang had saved many lives on the battlefield.
Among the attendees were Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzō, adding a chilling atmosphere to the scene.
Simu's eyes met Danzō's through the cold air.
Danzō smiled slightly, like a vicious dog lurking in the shadows, ready to strike at any moment.
