"I'll join too." Michael said without hesitation, "Wherever you go, I'll go. And you don't need to worry about SHIELD coming after me. They might even want me to join, so they can keep a closer eye on me."
"But…"
"No buts. Don't think I'll be in any danger. Actually, joining SHIELD might not be a bad idea. I've got nothing else to do right now, and being a superhero sounds like a decent gig."
Michael smiled and interrupted her, "It's settled. If the opportunity arises, I'll join SHIELD with you."
"Thank you…" Skye whispered softly.
"Now, go to sleep, silly."
Michael gently patted Skye's shoulder. For her sake, Michael was willing to join SHIELD, not for his own gain, but purely because of his feelings for Skye.
---
[System upgrade complete, copy mission initiated…]
In his sleep, Michael heard a faint voice. At first, he thought Skye was talking to him, but after a moment, he realized it was the system in his head.
"System upgrade? When did that happen? I don't remember it. And what's a copy mission?"
Michael glanced at Skye, who was still sleeping beside him, and silently questioned the system.
He had no idea when the system had upgraded.
[When you absorb and integrate abilities, the energy created from that process is used to upgrade the system.]
"So, after I absorbed the Extremis virus and the ability to control fire, you upgraded. But the energy required for the upgrade didn't weaken my abilities, did it?"
[No, the energy used for upgrades is separate and doesn't affect the power of your abilities.]
"That's a relief." Michael sighed, "Now, what about the copy mission?"
[The copy mission is a way for you to rapidly improve your strength. You can choose a specific copy world. It's an entirely independent world where you can do whatever you want to grow stronger. During the mission, tasks will be assigned. Completing them will earn rewards and energy for further system upgrades, unlocking more functions.]
"Seriously? This sounds like cheating! I was just wondering how I could enhance my devouring ability, and now I have access to copy missions. How long can I stay in these worlds? Can I bring items or people back? And can I revisit the same copy world or open new ones later?" Michael asked a series of rapid questions.
[With the system's current low level, you can only stay in a copy world for twelve hours and cannot bring anything back. The mission world resets every 30 days. You can either revisit a previous world or open a new one, but only one copy world can be active at a time. As the system levels up, the copy missions will expand, offering more opportunities.]
"So, as the system evolves, all those things I asked about will be possible? And can I absorb powers from the copy worlds to fuel the system's upgrades?"
[Yes, you can.]
"Perfect."
Michael breathed a sigh of relief and began contemplating which world to enter first.
He needed a world with enough power to absorb and upgrade the system, ensuring the greatest advantage. But since he could only stay for twelve hours and visit every 30 days, he had to choose wisely.
After careful consideration of movies and shows he knew, Michael decided on his first mission world.
Finally, he chose to enter the dimension of *Superpower*.
The movie *Superpower*, also known as *Superheroes*, revolves around Nick, whose father was genetically modified by a secret organization to become the perfect assassin. Tragically, his father was killed, leaving Nick filled with grief and a burning desire for revenge. Determined to take down the organization responsible, Nick infiltrates the criminal underworld of Hong Kong to lay the groundwork for his vengeance.
Along the way, he teams up with Casey Holmes, a girl who can predict the future. Together, they uncover the whereabouts of a stolen suitcase that holds the key to dismantling the secret organization. Their collaboration leads them to outwit an assassin and discover a powerful experimental drug developed by the organization, setting the stage for the final showdown.
This movie is memorable because of its focus on superpowers. The protagonist, for instance, possesses telekinesis, allowing him to move objects with his mind and create a psychic shield.
In essence, this is mind control!
Other powers in the film include high-frequency sound wave manipulation, future prediction, memory erasure, mind control, and the ability to track individuals through objects.
One downside, though, is that while there is a superpower potion in the movie, Michael realized he couldn't bring it out of the plane. It was a bit disappointing.
Michael was particularly struck by this movie because the lead actor was none other than the same actor who played Captain America. Additionally, much of the action takes place in Hong Kong, and the man, who played the villain Prophet, had an especially captivating style in the film.
Given the limited time he could spend in this world and the uncertainty of what mission tasks might arise, Michael's plan was to absorb as many abilities as possible. Even though some of the powers might not interest him, they could still help upgrade the system. After that, he planned to abandon this plane and move on to another.
There was no other way. In order to become stronger and upgrade the system, he had to seize every opportunity.
"System, I have a few more questions. If I give up this world and upgrade later, can I re-enter this world? If so, will it reset, or can I continue where I left off? And when I enter, does my body go in as well?"
[You can choose to revisit any previously entered plane and continue where you left off. Yes, your body and mind will both transfer into the copy. If you die in the copy, it will be a real death.]
"I see." Choosing the right copy world was crucial. Michael glanced at Skye, who was peacefully sleeping beside him, and then silently commanded the system, "Select the *Superpower* world. Take me in now!"
