[Selected the plane 'Superpower' and started entering!]
The system's voice echoed in Michael's mind.
Suddenly, he found himself on a busy street. The sun was shining brightly, the noise of the crowd was loud, and people were bustling around him. Surprisingly, no one seemed to find Michael's sudden appearance strange at all!
"It's Hong Kong!"
Looking at the familiar faces and surroundings, Michael felt a bit curious, "Is this the copy dimension?"
[Welcome to the 'Superpower' world. Mission released: Main Mission: Obtain three or more abilities. Camp options: Justice or Evil.]
"What does camp mean?" Michael asked curiously.
[Justice or evil, as the name suggests, refers to whether you choose to be a good person or a bad person. Friendly reminder: if you want to become a king, you can't avoid being in the darkness, embodying the darkness, and understanding the darkness. Choosing the evil camp will come with extra rewards!]
"Is that so?"
Michael was surprised and slightly doubtful if this plane was specifically designed to let people release negative emotions. However, since extra rewards were on offer, he didn't hesitate and chose the evil camp.
[Camp chosen: Evil. Activating the evil heart, duration until you leave the world.]
As the voice faded, Michael felt a subtle change within himself. He subconsciously smiled, and his originally gentle grin twisted into something more sinister…
---
The movie hadn't specified the exact time period. Walking along the street, observing the steady flow of people, Michael pondered what to do next. Since his stay was limited, it meant the plot had probably already started or was about to begin.
There were three main factions in the plot: the protagonist and his friends, their enemy—a secret organization studying superpowers that would soon send agents—and the final group, a local Hong Kong family of superhumans known as the "Vampires."
This family had four members: the father, whose ability was unknown; two brothers who could unleash sonic attacks; and the sister, Li Xiaolu, a prophet who could foresee the future. Due to her habit of sucking on a lollipop, she was nicknamed the Lollipop Girl.
"The main mission is to acquire three or more abilities. There are plenty of superhumans here, so it shouldn't be hard to get at least three. But with prophets in this world, people who can predict the future, I wonder if they can foresee my presence. Better play it safe and eliminate the prophet first."
There were two prophets in this world: Li Xiaolu, and a second-generation psychic like the protagonist who had come to work with him in a bid to secure a special serum held by the heroine.
"Who should I start with?" Michael's smile twisted darker as he pondered, walking casually down the street.
Just then, someone caught his attention out of the corner of his eye.
An ugly, fierce-looking man—one of the brothers with the sonic ability. If he was here, then his other brother might not be far away.
"Since we've crossed paths, let's begin with you." Michael murmured darkly as he walked toward the man.
"Excuse me, could I borrow a lighter?" Michael tapped the man on the shoulder.
The sonic user frowned, glaring at him with obvious displeasure.
"Oh, never mind, I've got my own." Michael grinned, pulling out John's lighter and flicking it on, the flame flickering gently, "Your sister's a prophet, right? I wonder… did she foresee your death?"
"You—"
The sonic user froze, but as realization struck, he moved to launch his sonic attack.
However, just as he opened his mouth, Michael manipulated the flame from the lighter, sending it straight into the man's throat.
The scorching fire burned the inside of his mouth and throat, rendering him unable to make a sound. Michael smirked and quickly grabbed the man by the neck and shoulders, pushing him into a secluded alley.
"Don't move. Just listen to me. Otherwise, it won't just be your throat that gets destroyed."
Michael's cold threat forced the sonic man to comply as he staggered into the alley. The sonic man clutched his throat in agony, but Michael remained indifferent.
"You could wait for your sister to sense your predicament and come to rescue you. But I'll give you five minutes."
With that, Michael leaned back casually, playing with the lighter. Five minutes passed quickly.
"What a pity. Looks like she couldn't sense you. Now… you can die in peace."
In an instant, Michael grabbed the man's neck, activating his devouring ability.
The sonic man's powers were absorbed effortlessly by Michael.
"Strange… it feels like my devouring ability has gotten stronger. Is it because I've become stronger, or because of this evil heart?"
The absorption process had been smoother than ever before, though Michael couldn't pinpoint the exact reason. Still, the sensation felt exhilarating.
"Let's test this new ability."
Looking at the limp body of the sonic user, Michael opened his mouth and unleashed a sonic blast.
Creak!
A shrill sound echoed through the alley. The nearby windows and glass panels shattered instantly, and the sonic man, still conscious, writhed in agony. Blood poured from his ears, mouth, and eyes, and soon, his body fell limp, lifeless.
"Not bad. It's not flashy, but it's powerful."
Satisfied, Michael turned and left the alley. Not going far, he sat down at a small food stall nearby, ordered a bowl of noodles, and waited.
If the sonic man was here, the others were likely nearby.
The noise from the attack had been loud enough to attract attention. Michael was counting on it.
But after finishing his meal and waiting for a while, no one showed up. He frowned.
Could it be that the others weren't around, or had they already been warned?
It was possible that the Lollipop Girl didn't have a close relationship with them. Even if she couldn't predict his presence, she should have foreseen her brother's fate. She was part of the story, after all, while Michael was an outsider.
Knowing that the sonic user was dead, they might be avoiding him.
"Prophets… they're always troublesome."
Shaking his head, Michael left the stall. Though the movie hadn't revealed their exact whereabouts, it did show where the protagonist lived. As long as he found the protagonist, he could track down the other "prophet." Eliminating her would be the next step. Gaining her ability to foresee the future would make finding his other targets a lot easier.
Before long, Michael arrived outside the protagonist's home. He saw two foreigners heading upstairs—agents from the organization, looking for the heroine. These agents had a tracking ability: by smelling or touching objects, they could sense the user's actions.
"I'll let you live a bit longer. Killing you would alert the prophet."
Watching them enter the building, Michael began scanning the area.
The plot was about to officially start, and the prophet would soon appear to find the protagonist. That was when Michael planned to strike.
